Grip safety is really great in my experience. One time during dry fire I failed to engage it, but that was with a horrible grip that I hope to never repeat. Way better than a manual safety that is far more likely to hinder shooting or allow firing when you do not intend it to fire. Way better striker fire pistols that don't have a safety or only have a trigger safety, that can still fire if an obstruction engages the trigger while holstering, or being jostled like the Sig P320... But you can make your own decision on that.
like you I have medical issues, and when I was looking for my first handgun about a yr n half ago the first gun I was handed was the 380 EZ...(just before the EZ9), liked the size, wasn't a fan of only 8 rds, and because of my specific medical issues the grip safety was hard to use, was interested in the Equalizer until I saw the grip safety, now I'm looking forward to the Ruger Security 380 Lite Rack.....looks like everything the EZ should have been to start with. on a side note, I live about 45 min north of you, and it's good to finally see someone on here in the same state and location type as me, might venture down there...
A fantastic, reliable, and great shooting firearm. The *Uplula* that comes with it is the icing on the cake, too. Optic-ready slide that comes standard and accepts a *Holosun 507k* like a glove. My one and only complaint is the grip safety. If this had the ergo of the *M&P 2.0, trigger, and 17rnd capacity,* this thing would take the trophy for best EDC for beginners as WELL as veteran shooters.
I think this will do well. The only issue with the EZ 1.0 was capacity IMO. This will be great for those with less strength. I'm trying to get my stepmother to look at one. And the fact that it comes with a 10, 13, and 15 rd. Magazine means one for carry, one for the vehicle, and one for the nightstand for them. Didn't know it also came with an Uplula! That's awesome, as I consider atleast one a Must Have, and they're not cheap. Cheers.
My fiancee is considering trading in her 43x MOS for one of these. She says she cant get over not having a thumb safety when carrying concealed and doesnt feel confidant being active with it on her. she didnt seem to like my 380 EZ shield but we've trained since I let that one go. thanks for your video. interesting thing i noticed is the extractor looks different on the Equalizer compared to other pistols. hopefully our local range will have em for rental
I like how you cover different weapons. Have you covered the Smith & Wesson CSX? It was released in January of this year. I bought one and it is now my EDC. Single action, exposed hammer, double stack 1911 style 9mm. It came with 2 mags, a 10 rd and a 12 rd and unlike other micro 9 mags (Sig 365) very easy to load. Even with arthritis setting in in my hands I am able to load the full amount of ammo into each mag. I was pleasantly surprised. It has a 3.1 inch barrel and the finish is matte with no wear on it after carrying it every day in my pocket. Like the Enforcer, you can rack the slide with the safety engaged. All in all, a nice little package.
thought about getting one for my mom. she got gastric bypass and lost a lot of weight very fast. some of that was her muscle and now she has a really difficult time manipulating handguns
I really like the slide, don't like the rest of it. Except that I can now get a OEM 15rnd mag for my Shield Plus. I'm hoping this will be the new slide for the M&P3.0
I like the 1911 style set up... but I really wish they made a Double Action version (either with or without the other safeties). Just regular DA/SA (Double Action) though and not DAO (Double Action Only). I just don't think there are enough DA/SA handguns in the subcompact/single stack size guns (like the P365, G43, Hellcat, etc... and smaller). Love the Beretta tip-up models, but I wish there were some micro .380's and 9mm's guns like that too.

I am hoping that the external safety can be removed and frame plugged as in other SW. it was easy to get the external safety model but not the safety delete model
I'm strongly considering purchasing this since I have trouble racking some slides (although--as I mentioned before--I can rack a Ruger Security-9 with no trouble and can even rack a Sig P365XL and a Glock 19) and it has the capacity I'm looking for, but I'm still considering other options. Is something like the M&P subcompact much more difficult to rack than a Ruger Security-9 or G19?
The Shield Plus is accurate even at 100 yards for being such a small EDC. The slide being so easy to manipulate, you'll definitely notice a difference in snappiness in recoil. That said, once you put a TLR7 Sub on it, a Holosun(or your choice), and the 15 rnd mag will do plenty towards helping that. You could order a heavier recoil spring as well if desired.
That's what I did. I stuck a *Hogue* grip on it, trimmed the *beaver tail* off it, slapped in some *Underwood 147gr +P JHP's* to add some weight, and man does it shoot much flatter.
Stoeger str9 c is a wonderful budget 9mm...well over 2000 rounda with no malfunction! Shot everything I put in her. Not much print durning carry... only downside is mag are only available through there company but they are good mag

The grip safety can make reholstering safe if you dont depress it!
