In this video we demonstrate how to remove mildew / mold stains from stroller fabrics using chlorine and a washing machine.
In order to keep our recommendations up to date, we maintain a 'Buyer's Guide' on our Patreon page (with a wide spectrum of models, and a lot of technical and lifestyle-related information). Organizing our recommendations this way makes it easier to include good models that we haven't made review-videos for yet, as well as to remove models which have developed unforeseen wear-issues over time, or which have been weakened by the manufacturer in their current iterations. You can access it here: www.patreon.com/posts/stroller-buyers-37953864 As an independent, consumer-oriented reviewer, we have fewer revenue-streams open to us than the majority of other channels out there, so we do ask for a small donation for access to this guide (as well as a free consultation and access to our other Patreon content). Thanks so much for your help!
Perfect exactly what I was looking for!!
For canvas type of fabric this works perfectly fine. I did this method on my shoe, although I just rubbed the bleach(chlorine) on the moulded area and rinsed it off after the moulds are gone. And FYI my shoes are white so it didn't show any fading😄.
The ratio of chlorine to water is 1:4 and the water is lukewarm. You can use a damp towel or a soft bristle brush to rub off the mould stain.
Could you explain how you water down the chlorine/ bleach?
Do I need to hose it after the wash?
If I water bleach down and make a spray do you think I can use this on a buggy seat that can't go in a washing machine
I saw another video that she did something like that in
Can this be used for a cover on a bouncy chair?
Ive got exactly these black dots on my bugaboo hood and I’ve washed it quite a few times but won’t come out. I noticed you used a light coloured hood but mine is a bright orange one, will the bleach not fade the colour? Thanks
If the bleach is watered down as it is here, this process will work on an orange hood as well - the material is very strong (not like when you spill bleach on a t-shirt). There will likely be some overall lightening in color, but it will be uniform and much better than mildew spots. Just go carefully with the bleach concentration, and go more than one round. :)
@@BarnevognverkstedNo I’ve done one wash and I’m shocked and happy that it’s still bright orange 😍 on the downside though all the dark spots are still there, so it’s on its second wash as I type. If they’re still there after this what would you recommend? A third wash?
I love your channel you explain things in so much detail 👏👏👍🏻
@@oneshiningstar281 Did the mold/mildew go away after the 2nd wash?
Try putting a cup of vinegar in the wash if there are still spots
@@TrooperJomake sure not to put the vinegar in with any of the bleach though! That creates a toxic gas.
Can you apply normal chlorine on sky blue shirt
What if you can't remove fabric from the stroller?
our washing machine is different than tho, it doesn't have some of your functions, so can i put the chlorine directly into the water?
You should probably pre dilute the bleach before you put it into the machine
How do i clean some mold spots on white leather
Can Chlorine damage the washing maschine?
Can you use vanish oxy action?
Ya... This is what I am looking for:)
I just realised that you have a front loading machine and your are American 🤔 I thought you guys had top loaders 😃
Clever, young Skywalker, but you must see beyond the box: an American living in Europe ;)
Americans both have top load and front load...
I figured that you live in Europe when I saw the washing machine. 😅

Is it possible for me to remove mold from my shoes, will chlorine harm the rubber?
I've never tried with shoes, but I think washing the rubber properly would be find, re: the Chlorine. What I would be worried about is the shoe fabric which could get discolored. :)
No my slippers have it and it got there by water and it will get worst wit liquid😫😓
I’m confused
Bleach or chlorine???
Bleach and chlorine are the same chemical
Chlorine is the base of every bleach, bleach would have other chemicals in it too, but chlorine is the base of it. Bleach is made using chlorine as base ingredient.
Liquid chlorine?
Yes, watered down though, and applied carefully :)
Have anyone tried this succesfully with a black stroller e.g. baby jogger without the chlorine discoloring the fabric?
Babyjogger works. :)
but I guess the fabric color gets lighter?
will it also work with bleach?
Sammy94💋 he says that it’s called bleach in America at the very end
He caused a chlorine but I think he means Clorox
@@wyhodges lol bleach has chlorine but it's in the form of a chemical compound called sodium hypochlorite
Chlorine ???
Yes, in controlled concentrations, and with care to wash it away afterwards :)
He means bleach
@@BarnevognverkstedNo lol
why does this mildew or mold form on the clothes? why is it happening in the first place?
it only happens on nightwear in my home.. not on any other clothes.. happy to see u talk about it... i was wonder what these black dots were..
If the clothes are wet and get contaminated or stocked from a closed place or cabinet, they will get mold.
Humidity
Chlorine fades the color and damages the fabric
These stains will not come out
If your stains look like mildew stains but won't come out with chlorine, there's a good chance they are oil / grease stains (the most comon culprit being splash-back from greasy puddles on rainy days) and may need dry-cleaning to be removed :)
What if you can't put the stroller parts in the washing machine?
@@BarnevognverkstedNo MMMM what do you mean by dry cleaning??

Does not work. But thank you anyways
Didn’t work for me either and it was definitely some kind of mold or mildew. Took it off 70% but not completely.
does it work with sports bra lol
