I love the comment about not letting the tongue really know what the air is doing so that it doesn’t change the air! This is something I tend to struggle with.
You have no clue how much I’ve learned from you. I’m a flutist and also a pianist and your content is actually great for all types of instruments. For example, piano ain’t just about hitting the keys but being conscious about posture, tuning systems, tension, dynamic contrast, ect. This channel is gold to me
Also very helpful and I’m incorporating this into my practice. (I’ve had the Moyse book since 1971…. Does that date me? There’d been a a slight 48 year gap in my practicing when “real life” intervened…. But you’ve gotten me back on track)…. 🙏😃
LOVE LOVE LOVE #5! I don't think I've ever stopped playing it since you assigned it for a technique test. This is giving me all sorts of ideas for myself and my students!
I have loved T&G #5 and the different ways to practice them that you taught me. I also realized that I should try them with the different articulations like I do with T&G #4. I'll be adding that to my practicing!
I never really thought through what the difference in time signature would mean until you mentioned it and now I always do it twice through each time with the different groupings! It’s been helping my students too 👍🏻
I LOVE doing chromatic scales! Your great video reinforced the need for me to get them really fluent and smooth-sounding. Do you mean two octaves both up and down all in one breath? I also enjoy your sense of humour!
Is youtube really not showing you an episode 18? That's strange and disturbing! I hope it comes back! In the meantime, here's a link for it. I hope this works for you! ua-cam.com/video/ppwkIdkwTY8/v-deo.html&t=
I can play it up to tempo since I warm up with chromatics, long tones, articulation and harmonics. I'm wondering if it'd be a good competition piece if I added lots of expression. I'm getting the Taffanel book soon! Thank you!
Three ways to send you hugs ❤️🥰🤗
You are an incredible musical artist. I've learned more from you in the past four months than I've learned in the past 50 years of playing.
Thank you
What an incredible comment for me to receive from you! Thanks so much, and best wishes to you with flute - and everything else!
Much as Taffanel did, YOU have made simple chromatic scales much more useful and helpful, too!! 🙏

Thanks so much for the nice comment! I'm extra glad if my channel is useful to musicians beyond just flutists!
Thank you for sharing this video. It helps me a lot
That's great, I'm glad to hear it! Best wishes!
Amazing 🤩 watching 💞
Your bow made me smile 😂Thank you for sharing all of the different ways to practice this!
Chromatic scales during tone studies! brilliant! I’ve never done that but am excited to.

I will definitely practice this using the first way to work on tone studies. Thanks!
I love your vlog! I'm learning so much from you. Thank you!!!
I'm so glad to hear it! Thanks for leaving me a comment! 👍 ❤️
@JamieSharp I didn't notice the different time signatures either! I'll definitely be making adjustments to how I practice T&G #5 starting now :)

April, your UA-cam lessons are so informative and inspiring for a self-taught flautist that I am. Thank you so much for your posting.
You're most welcome! Thanks for leaving the nice comment, and good luck with all of your flute practice! 🙂
I’ve seen this a few times, but this time I was reminded of using chromatic scales to focus on tone! Thank you for reinforcing that!
Thank you so much! I've been doing Sonorite...and T&G for years....and now I have other ways of incorporating this into my daily warm-ups!
Awesome! I love the incorporation into the tone studies work. 👍👍
So excited that T&G is public domain!!! Although my students might be less happy 😈
From one adult to another 😃

Aw, thanks so much - I try 😅

Do you think Flight of The Bumblebee is a good exercise?

Thank you so much, I'm working hard and finding things to learn so I can see you in college
Brilliant, thanks😊
Thanks for the nice comment! 🙂
