Hey man, I'm going into high school (age 15) I want to change my style from nerdy cuber. I want 2 pair of dress shoes (nothing too bold or design filled) I want to wear a lot of jeans and flannels. No suits or dress pants. I'll obviously throw in a watch in there. So If you can give me some tips on what jeans, flannels, shoes, and watches, that would be nice. Also I'm a bit overweight so I'm not to comfortable tucking stuff in. So my shoes need to work untucked. I need to know what belt to get as well. Not good at matching either but I like browns and blacks.
I wear Cole Haan Zero Grand wingtips for work almost every day (tan pair and a navy pair). They are almost like wearing sneakers, look great with chinos and jeans, and have been surprisingly durable.
Yeah I see them all over the place! I think it’s great that a lot of guys are finding shoes that are good looking but also super comfortable and lightweight and I think cole Han zero grand was really the first company to start that revolution
I really appreciate this video. I looked into Beckett Simonon and absolutely love what they're all about. Lifelong friends who started the business where their shoes are made-to-order and hand made. Ethical treatment of their employees HQ'd in Columbia, including giving them health insurance and paid vacation. Amazing. I can't wait till my pair arrives.
T M agreed! I need some saphir but haven’t mustered up the cash just yet! Don’t forget conditioner too though! Just polish will crack the leather over time
Great Video, question, I like your leather jacket. I been wanting to purchase a new but aged looking leather jacket, do you know of any links for good quality leather jackets? Thanks
I was looking on the website you provided but I cannot find the Mercanti Fiorentini black 'chisel toe' shoe. Do you have a name for the shoes or a link so I could buy them? Thanks.
I own two pairs of meermin and really like them! I actually just bought a pair of $1200 Edward green shoes on sale for $300 and I hope to do a video for them shortly!
Great video. I have been looking at Arden Teal. Shoes are about $95, until you go to checkout then they increase to $129. Anyway they have a lot of good looking shoes.
There shoes are really good looking and quite comfortable! They’re not gonna last forever but they’ll def get you a lot of compliments! Hmm I wonder why they are increasing $129 - make sure you switch the currency from Singapore dollars to US dollars- that could be the problem. Let me know!
Smart shopper! I love goodwill and definitely commend going thrifting. I will only add that you should try on shoes and make sure that the previous owners foot shape is similar to yours and has created a similar mold for you in the insole. I have a pair of Allen Edmonds that I find uncomfortable to wear because I can feel the previous owners imprint on the insole and it cause me a lot of pain
Those Cole Han shoes look amazing! I want to give one of my dressing shoes a sneaker bottom just to give it a chance. I really enjoyed your video. Thank you for your content.
Thanks so much for the good vibes Julian! Yeah the cole Haan is a really cool look and it helps that they’re super comfortable and still can be worn in a business casual setting! I’d say if you can find a sneaker cole compatible with a dress shoe of yours, go for it. Maybe Vibram sells something
That’s a great idea! I’ll definitely add it to the list. It’s a great question because I also like to dress more rugged but it’s not easy during the summer heat here in NY!
@@TheMenschreally looking forward to a video about that! i'm dutch so i think the weather is about the same here. The humidity is really high in the summer which forces me to wear really light clothing. Light clothing just doesn't look rugged and my style will be completely different in the summer (which i don't like).
My comment on the Cole Haan shoe with the "sneaker" soles ... I think they would be FAR MORE APPEALING IF the rubber sole was BLACK ... instead of that conflicting green in combination with the brown upper ... AS THEY ARE ... THEY JUST LOOK CHEAPENED !!!
Haha I agree - they do make ones that don’t have the contrasting soles but for the most part, it seems they are purposefully going for a more colorful design. Not for me!
I actually went to the store and asked the manager - he said they’re resolable but it’s tough because you can technically get glued on soles replaced too. I won’t know for sure until I take this shoe apart to see how it was originally made- but they have some Goodyear welted tassel loafers made in the USA that are really amazing and come in at a much lower price point than AE! Which shoes do you wear?
So i searched a bit on the web to see what those dress shoes/sneakers wear all about and i think you can better wear dress shoes or sneaker but not both.
Dani Burger yeah I agree Dani. I think you’re better off going for a clean leather sneaker or a regular on dress shoe. These look a bit confused to me. But yet, a lot of guys seem to be really into these!
@@TheMensch I am not so keen on Oxfords. I do think if you already own a pair of their shoes, and are confident in the quality of their leather, it is worth considering getting their Blake-stitched Oxfords
@@TheMensch Out of Asia, Vietnam probably has the best quality of higher end dress shoes at the best price - Italian crust leather, hand-painted patina, GYW, leather lined, leather stacked heels for less than 200 USD For bespoke, you can get them under 400USD - top quality, of course.

I know Florsheim is one of those companies that used to make really high quality stuff but has reduced their quality to compete in a lower price range - Johnston Murphy is similar too. You can even find some shell cordovan stuff on eBay for a great price! Where did u get yours?
Hahah love that reference! Yeah I’m really not a fan at all - but I keep seeing people wearing them! Some of my friends are obsessed with them and have like 4 pairs! What’s your go too shoe?
Disagree 100%, all brands you picked are low quality quite frankly. For instance; J&M are absolute shit. Stop misleading people, that’s irresponsible. Talk about the good affordable brands: 1) Cheaney, Loake, C&J, Septieme, Carmina, TLB Mallorca, Largeur; Meccariello, J. Fitzpatrick, Carlos Santos,
Did I miss any?
Links and Discount Codes are in the description if you want to buy any of these!
Great vid! You should check out the shoes from Thursday Boots!
I mentioned In the start of the vid and have heard only great things! Would love to try them out too! do you own any?@@pdolesq

Try the Meermin store in eBay, seconds for $135 includes shipping to USA.

Interesting, I’d like to try those Arden Teals.
Yea the fact that they are so affordable make them a good option. The quality wouldn’t be like your handmade boots but the value is there!
Yeah I seen a pair of the fake yeezy dress shoes and I’m like what are y’all thinking?! I really like the double monk and the ones b4 that
Very good video. Are you going to try a high end dress shoe $200-$300? I'm looking at purchasing Meerman.

I heard Stacey Adams are nice around the $125 range
I personally go to goodwill. 17 bucks for gently worn dress shoes of good quality and fit, they beat retail shoes for me.

Get some vintage quality shoes
Got some Vintage Florshiem Imperials from the 60s-80s. These things are fucking heavy and quality.

The Beckett’s beak is so high bruh
What do you mean by beak? Like the toe is very pointy?
Beak* my apologies. The beak of the shoe slopes up from the ground .
The Mensch on Menswear the pointy is not the issue. It just pointy sloping upwards
Meermin and Magnanni are spanish brands
True! Since this video I’ve actually been able to try out some meermin! They’re great!
Lanky Jon brought me here.
hahah glad you came over! did you see his underwear video today!?
Handsome stylish man.
So beautiful face with beard.
