The First Boot Made From Baseball Glove Leather
Переглядів 4,7 тис.2 роки тому
These are the Wolverine 1000 Mile X Rawlings Boot. I was stoked when I first saw Wolverine announce this collaboration on Instagram and new I had to get a pair. Instead of hiking in these, I put them to the test on the field to see how these baseball boots held up with after a little baseball. Congratulations to Zach Kockler on winning the sweatshirt giveaway from the last video! 00:00 - 00:32 ...

Hey fellas! These guys were some of my biggest influences when first starting The Mensch. They all have companies of their own selling various menswear products so I thought it would be fun to try out and review some of them! Here is what we’re looking at: 1. ESNTLS - Jose Zuniga's streetwear brand makes basics like the hoodie I purchased. 2. Teddy Baldassarre - Teddy is a watch guy with a site...

In my typical fashion, I picked up these Edward Green dress shoes (MSRP $1,285) at an unbelievable price. So I figured it would be interesting to compare them to a shoe you would get at the price point I paid and see what the differences are. Do you own a pair of Edward Greens? I would l love to hear your thoughts in the comments. Cheers fellas! Shout out @kirbyallison: ua-cam.com/video/HwtdG3l...

Hiking in Dress Shoes (Wolf & Shepherd Review)

I decided to test out these Wolf & Shepherd boots in the best way I know how - on the trail! This boot (Wolf & Shepherd Crossover Chukka) review was awesome to do and experience since I'm usually rocking a pair with leather insoles. I’ve had mine for about 4 months now. I wear mine as often as possible. Even to work if I can. I work in construction and do some metal fab work so I change them when I’m welding. Not quite ready to fully initiate a $320 pair of boots, lol. That being said, I do beat them up a little bit. After some good break in time I’ll be a little harder on them. My philosophy is to just wear whatever you like and don’t listen to other people’s opinions.

Unless there are new ways regarding shoes fitting I'm not aware of, the foot should not touch the edge of the shoe neither when trying them being seated, nor when walking... So those things being said..., the method going a half size down from the size when you already touch the edge of the shoe, doesn't work at all, unless you like to be unconfortable in your shoes and have black/thick nails all the time...! The leather stretches in width, but never in lenght, which brings us to the following example: - initially you have a pair of shoes or boots in 11.5 D, - while wearing them you might get to a 11.5 E, as leather will stretch (distend) over time, - you can not reach to a 12 D, as the shoes are build not to stretch in lenght but only in width. It has been proven that more than 70% of the population wear shoes that are not properly fitted to their feet...

couple things, handwelting done well with a channeled holdfast on the insole is superior to Goodyear welt and bespoke shoes have higher SPI in general if done well

I was a runner and am now more of a fitness generalist. I like the comfort of wearing very padded running shoes like Saucony Triumph during the day, or something more supportive like Mizuno Waverunner. Have you come across anyone who liked (higher endish) running shoes who made the transition to boots and found them more comfortable? I still sprint and run middle distance. I am the type to get bored walking in a parking lot and will do a fast jog to the front door, so I am wondering if boots can handle daily use for high-energy people.

Boots may stretch in width, in length they may actually shrink. The heel slip will get better as you use them. You should have at least a thumb width space at the front of your boots. This applies to any leather shoes. I initially thought Red Wing Iron Rangers in size 11.5. As I started walking they became short and I was able to touch the front. I changed them for a size 12. I was able to use an insole for comfort. And I added a kiltie. The 12 fit much better. These are the recommendations from Nicks Handmade boots.

I've been wearing my Blacksmiths on jobsites for over 2 years now (and they still have many years left) They have actually held up amazingly. So I'd say I strongly disagree as far as saying they aren't suited for work. In fact, I'd say prefer them over many other boots because not only do they stand up to the wear and tear? But they are a light weight/easy to navigate boot. I work in construction and honestly? These boots are the best I've ever worn in that regard. They last, they are extended comfortable, they are surprisingly water resistant, and they don't fatigue my feet. Excellent boot. And I have plenty of Nicks and White's as well. Yes those brands are more robust but they also fatigue my feet much more. So I'd say the Blacksmiths are a pretty amazing boot for casual or work wear.
