its pretty wild when it comes to general use. in general my old samsung a52 feels just as fast and responsive as my iphone 14. but when it comes to gaming its not even a close competition which is understandable

I am planning on buying the Nothing Phone 2a. 329€ for the basic configuration in enough for me and I can easily use it for 3-4 years until it doesn't get updates anymore. I used to always have 800€+ phones but I definitely didn't need top of the line specs for my usecase.

Ofc you See slighly longer loading times at some point and I was used to the Samsung ecosystem and interface but the beauty of all android devices is that you can make anything you want out of them when it comes to your UI especially with the Phone 2a.. I liked the keyboard on my samsung Bretter so I just downloaded an app for it to be the same as my old one... Yes I am missing out on Galaxy AI, better cameras and over all better hardware but I didn't need a faster loading time for 3x the price neither did I need a outstanding camera so no I did not regret... it's quite the opposite tbh I love that thing so far

@@notraeonthey don't have a flagship phone yet. The Np2 is a upper middle range phone .. it's only 36k . While the phone 1 is no longer sold and costed 29k which is also an upper Mid. The phone 2a is a true mid range phone.
I have an iPhone 15 pro max and bought the nothing 2a for my second number. It is an amazing phone with great value and their theme used in android is amazing .
If NP2a had UFS 3.1 the fight would have been fairer, UFS 2.2 was a bad decision. Nice RAM management, but slow read/write storage. Anyway, both Apple and Samsung scam us with their exaggerated prices. 
It has to cut some corners at the price it is at but I think most people will be very happy with the performance of this phone. Definitely picking this up to replace my S21. Technically definitely a downgrade but it has a bigger screen, battery and I want to test other android options besides Samsung (and don't want another Exynos so f Samsung)
A more suitable phone for ordinary people is the Nothing 2a, not the iPhone 15 as Apple claims. It is absurd to have a 60 Hz display on a phone that costs $800, so do not argue that Apple caters to the average consumers who cannot tell the difference. They basically use it as a premium feature which would compel users to buy pro and pro max variants. Due to this i had to spend 400 dollars more for the ipad pro .
its an X issue, this happens with even my s21 ultra, and pixel 7. I daily phone(2) and 7 as secondary, I just prefer NothingOS because I dont really like oneui, and this gives me such an oxygen os experience.
thats the app. i have an s22+. it may be a 2 year old phone but its still pretty powerful. it stutters a bit even on this phone. the developers are just too lazy to optimize and fix their app at all.
I'd like to see you compare the Nothing Phone 2 instead of the 2a against the 15 Plus. Also it might be worth it to retry this review again as well with Nothing OS 2.6
It's a great comparison that you've done. But apps starting is not the way to go with because Android has splash screens for all the apps when they are launched. Where as iOS doesn't.
Man, NP2a is choppy. Nothing should have increased the price a bit and give us UFS 3.1. I can't believe it'd be expensive. My 2021 OP Nord 2 has UFS 3.1 and it was 399€ on release.

NEWSFLASH: Budget Android phones made in the last 5-7 years typically will run as fast in normal usage as any iPhone. Where they fall short is camera quality and gaming. But for regular everyday use, 99% of people will not notice the difference. It was clear that the 2a would open apps virtually as fast as the iPhone. Plus you're comparing Linux to Unix so there will be some of that factoring into how they perform.
Apple can't possibly offer that kind a phone like a Nothing phone 2a for such a reasonable price,if you have to compare to the price segment,you have to compare it to SE 3 Gen. These days even the Pixel 8 can be found at a mint condition for significantly cheaper than the iPhone 15 and is much better in almost everything.
Even though the iPhone is superior I’m quite impressed the Nothing was mostly able to hang with it. Granted it’s going to be a fraction slower in intense games but for everyday use the speed difference is almost negligible. Definitely a good value for a budget based phone.
What’s most eye opening to me, is the display calibration discrepancies between the Nothings 2a and iPhone 15 series, most notably the white point. Compared to the iPhone, the Nothing 2a is noticeably off in the white point department. With that said, idk how many display options the nothing has to try and fix it. Or if some odd screen calibration mode was enabled. Even still, I can assure anyone that the display calibration and accuracy isn’t on the same level. This is VERY important to me. Knowing I can rely on my iPhone display being bang on accurate in all color spaces…being virtually imperceivable from a reference level/HERO display…not enough credit is given to Apple for this. My 15 Pro Max next to my s24 eye opening. Samsung has improved greatly this year…and the natural profile is probably the best natural profile I’ve seen on a Galaxy phone…but they still are doing Samsung things and doing what they want when it comes to handling color, gamma, etc. It still makes me roll my eyes all that fuss was made about the VIVID mode on the S24 series…Samsung should have never “fixed” it. The ones who complained just exposed themselves for not knowing what proper color science looks like.
I don't know much about color accuracy, but I wanted to point out that most of the software elements of the nothing UI aren't actually white, they're a very light gray that is influenced by Google's Material Sie color palette that you can choose in the settings. In this case it might be red, for example, but it's so hard to see that I've only noticed it in direct comparison with another nothing phone. Just wanted to comment since you talked about the white being of on the nothing.

I don't see any advantage that Nothing Phone 2a has 12 GB RAM and 120 Hz refresh rate screen. iPhone 15 Plus is faster with 6 GB RAM and iOS moves much more fluidly, even if the screen has a refresh rate at 60 Hz.

Here in Oz the iphone is $1200 more expensive ($1800 vs $600) compared to the 2a. I cant justify iphone and samsungs ridiculous prices.
