- Primal Hunt is a new VR Dinosaur Hunting Game that puts you face to face with the ferocity of a pack of Raptors, the power of an eight-ton Triceratops, or the terror of a 30-ft Tyrannosaurus Rex. As you progress, the dinosaurs become even more deadly with cybernetic implants, armor, and weapons such as machine guns, rocket launchers, and the lethal ion cannon. Primal Hunt launches on January 19, 2023 for the Meta Quest 2 and PICO.

The draw distance and fog makes it look like Morrowind with a dinosaur mod.

The iquana-like dinosaur makes me think of Turok when it showed the Acclaim/Iguana Entertainment logo. It has a lot of classic Turok feelings as well, with the excessive blood, death animations for the dinos, and the robotic dinosaurs.
If you're talking about the one that has a frill on its back it's called a dimetrodon 👌
Altought this is not a class A title like Turok, the difference in quality is huge, from the texture to animations the original game from 1997 was, and is, thanks to the Night Dive Studio remaster, so much better!

Imagine having a suit of armour or a pair of gauntlets with a compound long bow in a dinosaur era .
Imagine having a Rex with shoulder mounted rockets in a dinosaur era
imagine still dying to an unaugmented dinosaur in a dinosaur era

Looks very cool but it also seems to have the problem that many other cool VR games have, it has one great concept and then that's it, no story, no characters, no soul

Vr devs try not to make the worst looking games of all time challenge (impossible)
Part of the issue is people see these videos on 4" displays and don't grasp it's different inside of VR. When you're looking at it in 4K and it has stereoscopic depth and all this it just hits different.

@@bubblegumtea6129 if you have a Quest 2 you know VR games don't look like the pancake trailers on UA-cam. Beyond that you can't hold every game to the standards of Red Matter 2 which has primarily static assets and uses literal trickery to create the effects. They've been refining that tech since Daedelus on the GearVR. You aren't getting Red Matter 2 graphics in high action games with lots of movement and physics and all this. Even they couldn't produce that to the same level of graphical fidelity because there's limits on the processing power. No amount of shouting about the limitations of the Quest 2 is going to change them. It also does VR as a whole a disservice letting people think a picture of the Grand Canyon is the same experience as standing there in stereoscopic 3D with positional tracking looking at the thing. VR games don't need 4090 level graphics to have an impact.
