- Recorded on June 2, 2018. This is a monthly emergency siren test of the Cleveland County Emergency Siren System. This siren is tested at the first Saturday of every month at 12:00PM ET. This siren is a 3 phase model (2T22A). I was disappointed that this siren has a blocked top intake. I was going to report the siren issue to the fire department but the firefighters quickly left for lunch after this test. This siren is located at 1435 Burke Rd, Shelby, NC 28152 (Shanghai Volunteer Fire Department Station #1).

Recorded by a Panasonic HC-V180
The 2T22 at Jefferson Fire company in Norristown PA has the exact same issue and sounds exactly like this.
Cloest thing to hearing a 10 port siren without a synth. 12 port (top) blocked an 10 port open given the fact 2t22 is normally 10/12 port. 12 on top 10 on bottom
the high pitch sound is on the bottom row of horns. they didn't use the mounting sticks to have it up higher, so the air intake can't intake air
Its 10/12 port. 10 horns on the bottom, 12 horns on the top. The higher pitch sound is the top row, and the sound in this video is the bottom row. So the top row is blocked not the bottom row.
Yes now I see it. There is a birds nest in there
There is a 2T22 nearby where I live, (Elizabeth, PA) same issue
I got a small video of it, check it out! I live in West Mifflin.
Are you sure this isn't the sound of a BMW E60 M5?
How do these intakes even get blocked.
Dear TrainsAndSirens1,
I know every siren video contains use with permission. Can i use the audio of this siren? i can credit you for the audio.
where's 3T22 with the bear rings and bird nest
So it’s a 10 port siren at the moment
Correct.
the old mess up 2T22 will be replaced
Ive always wanted to hear a 3t22 in real life before
Me too man but I’ve seen a 2/3t22 in person before it was amazing 😉
Seen and heard them before. There's a 2T22 down the street at the Jeffersonville FD near Norristown but it has a blocked intake so it sounds like this. Use to sound epic 2 years ago before whatever happened happened. then there's a 3T22B in Bridgeport across the river at the FD. It does not do Hi-Lo but holy hell it's attack signal is creepy as hell and the echo is stunning, sounds like Rhine GA's 2T22B. And yes they're loud and their sound can travel for miles. I could hear the 2T22 at Jefferson from either Eagleville up on the hill at Arcola Middle school or deep in Norristown by the train station.
These XT22s seems like they always want to get jammed. There's a XT22 up here in PA that has the exact same problem. The only thing different is that the 10 ports rotor is jammed. So it sounds like an STH-10. Nice video as always Christopher.
Saint Clair’s 3t22B may start having a faulty spring, it was getting sucked shut (top one) randomly.
I know Silvis's 3T22 is jammed, there's 2T22 in Spartanburg that's jammed, and let's not forget the St. Philips 3T22 in Newberry. That siren is jammed as well.
Where’s the siren at in PA and when does it test
Mr. Suicide's Bro Obvious in my last comment (Saint Clair, schuylkill county) and every Wednesday at 12:00 PM, located at alert FD, near a gamwell diaphone array, we also have 2 model 2s.
Trains and Sirens You deserve a sub. So i gave you one.
NICE! I LOVE THIS!!
because the old 2T22 does not sound right
I like the Blocked Attack signal on this 3T22
Nice recording!
I feel like 2/3t22’s are modified ww2 carter sirens but with a stronger motor
Technically yes and no. Carter sirens run under the European 50hz power making the motor spin slower and generate a lower pitch. In the US we use 60hz making the motor spin faster and generate a higher pitch.
Sounds like a Model 2A
Nice As Always!
so essentially its a 1T10 now.
It would be a 2t10
Two possible tones
10 ports
@@ScimitarRaccoon actually the 2t22 has two choppers one produces the 10 port sound and the other produces the 12 port sound so the only one youd hear is the 10 port sound
@@thunderaarcanis98 I know, I was just saying two possible tones, like ALERT and ATTACK would only be possible, take the 2t22 for example, it can only do ALERT and ATTACK but is a dual tone siren, the 3t22 can do ALERT, ATTACK and HI LO three possible tones, hence 3t22 22 ports being 12 + 10 ports equals 22 ports, 3 (T)ones 22 ports (3t22)
@@ScimitarRaccoon oh i thought you meant there was two pitches. my bad.
1t10 1 tone 10 horns 1t10
Nice!
Way too long attack timing.
there's a thunderbolt 1003A siren at vander nc
It sounds like st Philips
Sounds like Thunderbolt 1000
Old 2t22
It'sounds like ACA Hurricane
No
@@United_HVAC_and_Fans yes it js
@@janecheef.k.8150 not even close. hurricanes are 8/10 port this is 10/12 port.
It’s gonna blow a motor if it isn’t cleared soon.
No it's not gonna blow anything.
Corey S. These motors were built very good plus less air on the top chopper makes less load so if anything it will help the life of the motor/bearings
Conner Tate Huh never knew that.
The bottom intake is still open so no.
Very long wind down good lord!
Dylans 1000T good barring
Dylans 1000T the top choper is getting no air so the motor spins faster and make less load so longer wind down
sure is rusty, but good sounding : )
Sounds like a single toned 2t22.
Now its a 2T10 lol.
You mean 2t11?
@@MasenMonster the bottom chopper is 10 port not 11. So 2T10.
Oh I get it now 10+12 22
Ok well I meant by that since it’s half of the sound I thought I might be 2t11
