Im going to be honest with you, I think the abyss dragon swordsoul is very slept on right now. Lots of decks with field spells and its pretty easy to summon since a lot of stuff gets banished in this deck. Its also a good way to deal with something like necro valley. I would say its a good 1 - 2 punch with protos as it puts a very easy to summon 3k body on the board. Also its fire so calling dark doesnt cause it to be destroyed. I know people dont seem to like it but I think its a pretty good card if you look at it from the utility perspective. it could even be a side card if you dont know what deck they are playing, but I am maining it right now. Just something to think about especially with all these annoying ass field spells.

Shifter does nothing to tenpai. Most list are maining it and can still otk.
And you shouldn’t be trying to counter a decks with cards that you yourself can’t play under. Counter intuitive
