The deoxys you obtain in the gen3 Pokemon games cannot be traded from R/S/E to FR/LF and vice versa Though it can be traded between R/S/E and FR/LF Pretty wierd don't you think
In Pokemon firered and leafgreen if you play on an emulator the sailor in vermillion will say "something like buy the game or die"(don't remember exactly) but when I looked into the game files that dialogue just isn't in his files and there is no code to make him check whether you are on an emulator or not
There is data of gen 2 Pokemon in gen 1 you can get them with new glitch and if you are super smart you can use a glitch item called "8F" to transfer them over to gen 2 watch Johnstone's video for more info
In Pokemon SwSh there was a glitch where you could evolve a male Salandit and it would evolve into a female Zalazzle (idk if that's spelt correctly but yeah) It works with Combee too into Vespiqueen but I'm unsure if it got patched
5:43 Actually, Gyarados can be caught in the wild at level 1 and 100 by fishing with a Super Rod in rippling water within the Nature Preserve in Pokemon Black 2 and White 2. So it'd be three Pokemon that can be caught at 1 and 100, not two.
I was wondering why some of these facts sounded so familiar like the Bonsly and Mantyke card ones. Then I heard the tiger breasts Pikachu fact and remembered the "2 Truths and a Lie" vid with Mikey. Now, this might be the inner degenerate in me talking but I'm at least a little curious about what the rat (or cat in this case) would've looked like. Just a bit.
They didn't understand why Americans like eating Tiger's Milk bars but they thought they could grab more western audience if they made that their mascot.
I’m just saying, the Sevii islands have: a volcano, a game corner, a forest, one large cave, a legendary Pokémon, a day care, multiple waterfalls, puzzles, an evil team, a plot regarding said evil team, & no gyms… it is a smaller version of Alola without the island challenge or a Pokémon League. Give me a main series game where we can revisit the Sevii islands. I love them so much.
Idk if it counts as a weird fact but there used to be shampoo that came with a pikachu finger puppet. There also might have been one for jigglypuff/clefairy but I was young and only cared about pikachu. For nearly 20 years I couldn't find any evidence that it existed after it just stopped appearing in the store. Till last summer when I found 1 listing and bought them on the spot
Can you take pictures? I think I know what you're talking about. I remember I had a bottle of shampoo that came with a Pikachu figure that would sit on top (middle?) of the bottle. Not necessarily a finger puppet I think, but very similar.
I think I've mentioned this before, but Gen 8 updated the Ralts family's Egg Groups to include Humanshape/Humanlike one. From Gens 3-7, the Ralts family was classified exclusively as Amorphous (a word that describes something with an unstable/malleable shape and the name for the Egg Group containing the likes of Ghastly, Wobuffet and Muk, etc.) whereas Pokémon like Volbeat and Illumise were classified alongside the Machop and Abra families as Humanshape/Humanlike.
@benjaminmargulies1853 THIS is the one that still upsets me! People keep trying to justify that, "Oh, but female rabbits turn infertile when they're older" blah blah blah, I can still breed level 100 Lopunny and Diggersby regardless of gender just fine and if Pokémon really cared about realism, we wouldn't have Skitty on Wailord. Just let Nidorina and Nidoqueen breed with others!
Yeah, while I didn't know about it as a kid I don't think. I definitely discovered it many years ago and am now surprised at the claim that it wasn't known about until "a year ago".
Great video, man! One correction however, Bonsly actually has two cards! The one that is routinely missed is the Japanese Movie VS Pack version. Crazy that Mantyke is still only presented in DP base set.
The level 1 Regigigas is actually not from an event, rather the static Regigigas in Snowpoint Temple in Pokemon Platinum is the Lv1 Regigigas. Fun to catch it at that point huh.
I honestly don’t remember if I learned this through one of your videos or not, but my favorite obscure Pokémon fact that was discovered relatively recently is the gen 3 Ditto one. When using Transform in battle with Ditto, you obviously copy your opponent’s Pokemon’s stats, as intended. Though it turns out, if you level up while in this state, you remain in the transformed state, but your stats revert to Ditto’s actual stats. Meaning in gen 3, if you level up as a transformed Ditto, Ditto’s EVs and IVs could actually be relevant.
Teeny tiny terminology notice - 7:22 the term you want is "transgender". While "transsexual" has been used in the past for the exact situation of the X/Y Beauty (that situation being a medical transition), it's out of favor in common practice these days because of the way it (inadvertently) links gender identity and sexuality.
Thank you for explaining this distinction while also keeping level-headed and not bashing him. I'm a trans woman myself and I always like to push education first and foremost about us and what's the right way to go about it and too often I see people overreact instead of take the time to teach, causing us to get seen as flaky and uppity. Glad to see it go right this time. :)
I made a comment too! Didn't wanna see any backlash for a genuine mistake, and hope to see it mentioned again within 102 episodes of the series of Pokemon fact videos that will never end, if it was removed from this one 😂 I didn't realise it was already mentioned by another comment though
Huh, I actually got the 5 pokeballs from Oak on one of my playthroughs back when I was a kid. As I remember, I was playing around seeing if there was a third event trigger for Oak and there was! However, I assumed you had to evolve your starter since that is what happened to me.
Same!! Mine was caused by a need to grind up early. For some reason, I feel like it puts me ahead through the whole game even though I know in reality that it doesn't. Anyway, I played for the first time on a used copy that my cousin had given me and it still had his play file. When I was finally brave enough to restart the file I was so irritated about the idea of having such low level pokemon that I went crazy and grinded my starter to like lvl 12 before doing anything else.
Something that I actually looked in on is Slowking to see if it was similar with entries stating that its Shellder could be removed and at least in the Gen 3 entries, it states that Slowking will forget everything if Shellder comes off its head which implies it can be removed according to its Hoenn entries but nothing actually happens to its current form other than it forgetting stuff
im not sure if this one is used already, but i think mawile was misspelled as mawhile in the pokedex of pokemon ruby in version 1.0, and was corrected in 1.1.
I actually recognized the poekstar star studio UFO, but I know I was one of the really few people to actually play that area after the tutorial you are forced to do. Heck, I bet you could do a whole video on just that area and 98% of people would know nothing beforehand.
The "tiger with big breast" I guess means they wanted a buffed-up looking tiger, so would have a "cooler" and "edgier" mascot for Pokémon in the west I thank no Pokémon design was changed in the west, that would be so weird to handle for merchandising and stuff
7:21 - Just like in the games, Archie's goal in the manga was to flood the world to create an entire world of water. After Ruby and Sapphire stop Team Aqua and Magma, Archie is told that Jirachi can grant wishes, eventually leading to the fun fact told in this video: Archie wishes for a Kyogre monster made from water, hoping to flood the Battle Frontier (where Jirachi was) and the rest of the world after. For anyone who hasn't read the manga, I highly recommend reading up to Emerald. I think that once it hit Diamond and Pearl the storyline was just too similar to the games and kind of just fell off. But for everything before that, the Pokemon Adventures Manga has an incredible plot and great storytelling. Things in the game that seem underwhelming, like legendary pokemon or even just having a pokedex are fully expanded upon in the manga.
Hah! I knew about the ufo one for black 2! It's in the studio mini game... that I may have been obsessed with for making my pokemon stars in my nuzlocke challenge
There actually was an Electric-type tiger Pokemon line planned during Gen I's development, but it was scrapped. Then during Gen II's development they considered putting it in minus the third stage, but it was cut again. If it weren't for the whole "huge breasts" thing I'd think they were going to use that design to replace Pikachu.
Interestingly at this time the tips of Electrivires tail are red like they're supposed to be! However the icon for Electrivire in your pokemon box still has the yellow tips..
Here's a small one, if you don't have money for the taxi in x and y you'll end up having to battle the taxi driver. Ten years back my brother did this and I thought it was funny when we found it out
That thing about the manga with the jirachi, that's all completely true. Archie quite literally used jirachi to wish a giant kyogre made out of the ocean to engulf the world is sea
I've known the Professor Oak PokeBall tidbit for like 8 years. I know that reddit user has been spreading it around for a year, but if you got the Scykohplays channel and watch his let's play of Pokemon Yellow, he mentions the Oak/PokeBall thing. I don't wanna discredit the reddit user for spreading this information, but I also feel that Scykoh deserves some credit as well.
I see you’re a man of culture and watched some Mogul Money recently. Two of these (the baby Pokémon cards one and the sexy Pikachu one) were featured in a category in one of the episodes, though I don’t remember which one. That’s not to say you shouldn’t include them; they’re great obscure facts. Just thought it was neat. Love your vids.
Here's an obscure. In Pokemon Colloseum, Smeargle and it's shiny has the colors of their tails and the paw print on their back swapped. Not the rest of their color, just the tip of their tails
I remember professor oak gave me pokeballs in red/green, but over the years I was gaslighted into thinking that didn't happen and that I was just misremembering. Well now I have proof!
About Colors: For a long time the Pokédex plain-out *ignored* that the color Orange even exists. There even is a joke about it by one of the (color-coded) Johto Elite Four Members in Pokémon Glazed, if it weren't for this, I would never even realized that.
In the Let's Go games was the first time that I realised that the Gambler trainer was supposed to wear some kind of Japanese style clothing. Never played Fire Red or Leaf Green and in the 1st gen games his image looked so weird, I always thought he had some kind of frilly clothing, making him look like an actor from a Shakespeare theatre play.
A rather depressing fact about the Walrein line is that they’re the only line to have their signature move status completely erased in a game. They don’t learn it at all in Legends Arceus, but Avalugg learns it through level-up, making Ice Ball it’s signature move instead. The first game since SwSh to give Ice Ball back to us and Walrein didn’t get it. Hisuian Electrode can learn it, Avalugg has it as a signature move, but Walrein still can’t learn it.
In Pokemon Diamond And Pearl not Platinum (or the remakes) just Diamond And Pearl the music in Spring Path has many audio glitches sometimes the music just doesn’t play at all but when it does the music is slightly different, In DP Spring Path uses the same music as the Old Chateau and Newmoon Island however Spring Path’s version sounds different, in the Old chateau version (and Newmoon Island but the only legit way to acess there in DP nowadays is to have a save file from back in 2009 that had the Event so you ain’t getting there without hacks or glitches) there is a part which sounds like a haunting ghost choir (appropriate for the area) however Spring Path’s version this section has said choir removed and sounds dead, empty and Hollow, this version will follow you into Sendoff Spring and Turnback Cave, this is a glitch as fitting as the empty feel is for the area as if you save and reset or use Surf in the area the regular version used in the Old Chateau starts up (I’m not certain if encountering wild pokemon fixed the music so if you want to try this yourself go in with repels), someone looking into the song files and found that the difference was an audio file called female choir didn’t load in the glitched version. Strangely in Platinum Spring Path’s music was changed to the music of the adjacent route (route 214) which maybe due to the audio glitches and in Brilliant Diamond Shining Pearl the music is obviously remixed even when using the DS Sounds it is fixed (trust me I tried) This may sound like a creepypasta and I would probably think that too but I remember the music being different between DP and Pt as a kid (I didn’t find the Chateau for a while so my only exposure to the music was Spring Path) I thought I was hearing things for years but finding out I was correct all these years was satisfying as all get out If you want to hear the difference watch this video m.ua-cam.com/video/ac8XIBEGtIA/v-deo.html It also has an explanation in the description if mine was long winded Too compare just type in Old Chateau on YT listen to both tracks from 0:38 to 1:21 and you’ll hear the difference. As much as I know it’s unintentional part of me wants to believe it is as it fits so well
I actually did get those poke balls from professor oak as a kid now that I remember it. Every play through since I was a kid I always thought " doesn't someone in the professors lab give you 5 pokeballs?" but could never figure it out. Man I was really dumb as a kid
At risk of sounding pretentious... I think ive been so obsessed with pokemon since being a kid that i knew most of these, which may mean I should take a break lol, but this was still a very fun video❤
There must have been an update or something in Pokémon go, because I just checked the sprite of my own electivire and the tips of it’s tails were red. I really enjoyed the video, keep it up!
The gen 1 poke ball fact has actually been known for a really long time! ScykohPlays did this in his 2014 Pokémon Yellow let’s play and I’m pretty sure I’d heard of it even before then.
So as a kid I didn't realize this was unknown as I went back to oak after exploring viridian as I was wondering why the first gym was locked, I spent atleast an hour running around trying to find something to let me enter
in Pokémon Go Electrivire's antenna tips are indeed yellow, but only in the sprite (when you open the bag for example). But when you check the pokémon, the model has the red tips
Fun fact - The thumbnail changed within less than a day. I do suppose the Pokéstar Studios fact is a bit more eye-catching. There was three facts here that I did not know of; the 2:18 tiny mushroom fact (I rarely do post-game), and the 4:49 + 7:57 Pokémon card facts. Quite some interesting finds here. That said, whilst I already knew of the Pikachu-Tiger lady redesign fact, I always love peoples reactions to informing and learning of said bizarre fact, so I'm glad to see it included.
i do what is called AB testing thumbnails sometimes which alternates between two thumbnails then UA-cam picks whichever one it thinks is better and keeps that one
I checked the Electivire one as soon as you mentioned it and it looks yellow tipped in the normal display and then when you click on it the red tips show up its weird
I remember when I played Red/Blue for the first time many years after they came out since I grew up with Yellow. I recalled getting 5 Poke Balls from Prof Oak when I played Yellow and I was confused when he didn't give me them in Red/Blue. Until today I thought it was a Mandela effect or something!
So Nintendo has a lock on being association with mega recognized characters. They created Mario, they put out Pokemon and they use to print Disney playing cards.
@PaPaSea thanks for reply i think i mixed up 2 songs on his playlist i was thinking of anofher one he uses but the one you used at 7:55 but i cant remember which song it is. I mixed it up with a hello kitty ps1 song though lol
You mentioned the color change wave happening in Gen 7 but use Castform as an example. That happened in Gen 8 with the release of Pokémon home. Idk if you also mean that during Gen 7 they began changing colors, but I know the Castform shiny forms were specifically in Home
I have a reverse holo mantyke card that is in near perfect condition that I’ve had since I first started collecting Pokémon cards and I had no clue it was even remotely special. Needless to say, it’s now in a card sleeve.
@@PaPaSea I legit thought this was common know tho otherwise I'd have been credited with its discovery 🤣 (Sorry for any wine induced errors that may be here 😅)
Had no idea about Bonsly and Mantyke only haviong 1 TCG printing! When seeing this i thought "wait a minute..." because the diamond/pearl/platinum era was the one where i bought most of my pokemon cards so i went to check if i had either of them. Low and behold: I had 3 copies of Bonsly, in great condition! A played one is worth around $12 so thanks for helping me earn $36 :D
The R/B/Y PokeBall thing wasn't known? That's how I got my PokeBalls the first time (from Oak), since I wasn't very interested in buying them and catching stuff at first. Huh. That's odd, that I knew something like that when it's assumed that many people didn't. It's actually what I tired to do each time so I didn't have to buy them.
i did the first one as a kid and wondered every other playthrough as a child why i didnt get them and you just reminded me holy shit i had forgot thank you fact no 1 and you got me hyped
What do you mean the secret with Professor oak giving you Pokeballs went undiscovered until a year ago? I swear I heard about this a long time ago, that's why I've done it for every playthrough of Yellow I do. I don't think this went undiscovered for *that* long

What's interesting is that the preview sprite is not fixed.
@@alekh.3866 ah yes the very small sprite is so small so it’s hard to see the tips
I think PaPaSea may have gotten that one wrong unfortunately. It's just the menu sprite that has the glowing yellow tips.
I really hope this isn't your last video about weird and obscure pokemon facts. I absolutely love these videos.
Pokestar Studios: home to the weirdest battles ever
A rather depressing fact about the Walrein line is that they’re the only line to have their signature move status completely erased in a game. They don’t learn it at all in Legends Arceus, but Avalugg learns it through level-up, making Ice Ball it’s signature move instead. The first game since SwSh to give Ice Ball back to us and Walrein didn’t get it. Hisuian Electrode can learn it, Avalugg has it as a signature move, but Walrein still can’t learn it.
I don't know what that father was thinking would happen when he named his daughter "Lostelle"
Oh my... I actually had a few of both Bonsly and Mantyke.
In Pokemon Diamond And Pearl not Platinum (or the remakes) just Diamond And Pearl the music in Spring Path has many audio glitches sometimes the music just doesn’t play at all but when it does the music is slightly different,
In DP Spring Path uses the same music as the Old Chateau and Newmoon Island however Spring Path’s version sounds different, in the Old chateau version (and Newmoon Island but the only legit way to acess there in DP nowadays is to have a save file from back in 2009 that had the Event so you ain’t getting there without hacks or glitches) there is a part which sounds like a haunting ghost choir (appropriate for the area) however Spring Path’s version this section has said choir removed and sounds dead, empty and Hollow, this version will follow you into Sendoff Spring and Turnback Cave, this is a glitch as fitting as the empty feel is for the area as if you save and reset or use Surf in the area the regular version used in the Old Chateau starts up (I’m not certain if encountering wild pokemon fixed the music so if you want to try this yourself go in with repels), someone looking into the song files and found that the difference was an audio file called female choir didn’t load in the glitched version.
Strangely in Platinum Spring Path’s music was changed to the music of the adjacent route (route 214) which maybe due to the audio glitches and in Brilliant Diamond Shining Pearl the music is obviously remixed even when using the DS Sounds it is fixed (trust me I tried)
This may sound like a creepypasta and I would probably think that too but I remember the music being different between DP and Pt as a kid (I didn’t find the Chateau for a while so my only exposure to the music was Spring Path) I thought I was hearing things for years but finding out I was correct all these years was satisfying as all get out
If you want to hear the difference watch this video m.ua-cam.com/video/ac8XIBEGtIA/v-deo.html
It also has an explanation in the description if mine was long winded
Too compare just type in Old Chateau on YT listen to both tracks from 0:38 to 1:21 and you’ll hear the difference.
As much as I know it’s unintentional part of me wants to believe it is as it fits so well
fun fact: x and y, the female counterparts of black belts are battle girls
I actually did get those poke balls from professor oak as a kid now that I remember it. Every play through since I was a kid I always thought " doesn't someone in the professors lab give you 5 pokeballs?" but could never figure it out. Man I was really dumb as a kid
I still think the eReader is the coolest peripheral Nintendo have ever done, they just never did anything meaningful with it
Fun fact: there is a door in pokestars studio that is grass type. There also is a black belt with huge power as the ability and a fighting typing
At risk of sounding pretentious... I think ive been so obsessed with pokemon since being a kid that i knew most of these, which may mean I should take a break lol, but this was still a very fun video❤
This series is son neat and cool my favorite pokemon series.
That building in the Arceus card looks like the Celestic Town ruins in the Anime
There must have been an update or something in Pokémon go, because I just checked the sprite of my own electivire and the tips of it’s tails were red. I really enjoyed the video, keep it up!
15 years later and I'm just now learning mossdeep had a game corner what the hell bro
The gen 1 poke ball fact has actually been known for a really long time! ScykohPlays did this in his 2014 Pokémon Yellow let’s play and I’m pretty sure I’d heard of it even before then.
Imagine pokestar studios in full 3d
the explanation for the beauty black belt thing seems to be missing ?
it cuts out mid sentence
She’s trans mtf
Is it just me or did PaPaSea say "Hail Yeah!" when he mentioned Castform's Weather Forms' Shiny Versions?
It makes sense; Mikey was on a video on the channel like 2 weeks ago
HE SAID IT, HE SAID HAIL YEAH
So as a kid I didn't realize this was unknown as I went back to oak after exploring viridian as I was wondering why the first gym was locked, I spent atleast an hour running around trying to find something to let me enter
In Gen 4, Combusken's shiny was changed from Gen 3. The Shiny Switched again in Gen 8, and etter matched Generation 3's
" Hail Yeah"
HE SAID IT! HE SAID THE THING!
in Pokémon Go Electrivire's antenna tips are indeed yellow, but only in the sprite (when you open the bag for example). But when you check the pokémon, the model has the red tips
I played the hell out of Pokémon emerald as kid and adult and I didn’t know that mossdeep city had a game corner
Pretty sure shiny colors were randomly generated, which is why we got purple zard
@@PaPaSea Huh, I hadn't even heard of that before; pretty cool concept.
Electivire has red tips in pokemon go, it's just the sprites that are shown have illuminated effects
The first fact is funny cause I definitely did this several times as a kid. Who has the money for poke balls anyway?
I checked the Electivire one as soon as you mentioned it and it looks yellow tipped in the normal display and then when you click on it the red tips show up its weird
That 5 poke ball in RBY baffled me
NEED to see the americanized pikachu tbh
I remember when I played Red/Blue for the first time many years after they came out since I grew up with Yellow. I recalled getting 5 Poke Balls from Prof Oak when I played Yellow and I was confused when he didn't give me them in Red/Blue. Until today I thought it was a Mandela effect or something!
FRLG move relearner was addicted to shrooms. You were his drug dealer.
I’d love a Pokémon game that lets us battle non-Pokémon creatures, like the aliens and Brycen Man in Pokestar Studio
I have a reverse holo mantyke card that is in near perfect condition that I’ve had since I first started collecting Pokémon cards and I had no clue it was even remotely special. Needless to say, it’s now in a card sleeve.
9:07 HAIL YEAH!
Hey, I remember some of these facts from your recent collab with MandJTV
"This went undiscovered until about a year ago"
Me who has been doing this since my sister told me about it when I was 5: it's what?
it went largely undiscovered until a year ago when it blew up more, it was obviously known by some before but not as common
@@PaPaSea I legit thought this was common know tho otherwise I'd have been credited with its discovery 🤣
(Sorry for any wine induced errors that may be here 😅)
Speaking of gen 4 pokemon cards, there has only ever been 1 support card of Aaron from the elite four from Neo Destiny called Aaron's Collection.
In Pokémon sword you can glitch out of bounds and hatch a egg it will say was hatched in a far way place
I like that there are some of the questions you asked MandJTV :)
yeah, it was hard coming up with facts so i pulled a few from this video and some older ones i made
@@PaPaSea That's fine with me. You added some details in this video too :D
