I'm sorry for the commercials that now litter my videos , I didn't put them there . If I get 1000 subscribers I can take them off, I'm not trying to make money from this clearly..
You make me so home-sick, Bro. One of the best weeks of my life was our Air Force bush survival training at Dip Flat, just over the hill from St Arnaud ( 41°53'34.01"S 172°55'11.17"E ). Despite living a large chunk of my life in Aotearoa I had never been bush before. Made me fall in love with the tramping round NZ. Now I live in Brisbane and the spiders and snakes and shit don't entice me to go bush here.
Great area around St Arnaud, minus the sand flies! NZs got the big views all over us, I do miss the wildlife abundance at home but, I like how the snakes keep you on edge a bit..even though they're made out to be 100 times worse than they actually are.
Hey just found your channel, looking the videos! And also the stats during your narration 👍 I am debating doing the South Island TA this summer, (prior to the GDT 🇨🇦 on July) I'm time poor, so my plan is to hitchhike as much of the roadwalks as possible to more focus on hiking in the forest. Not sure if you remember but what sort of percentage of the south was on road? And of that what was hitchable? Thanks! Greg
Sorry for the late reply, I haven't been online much. South Island on road, not much... 5 % tops that I can think of ...it's all become a bit of a blur
@@Greghikes1 hope I've got that right. I'm racking my brain trying to think of road walks that I've forgot, there were a few, but maybe 50-60 kms worth all up that I can think of ...hmmm forgot about the tekapo canal section , maybe 100kms then. A lot of people ride a bike for that section
Hey mate, did you skip the top house track into st Arnaud, and go down to the Red hills car park.? Wasn't my favorite part and alot of people opt of it.

I love the way the camera gets drunk too'
