Great video! I'm really looking forward to hearing about the Kakwa 55 - thinking of making it my next pack. Good suggestions on shoes. Such a personal choice and probably one of the most important. You might have people along the way challenge you on boots rather than shoes, but your ankle issue will stop that right away. I like the plastic pipe cap idea. It will be interesting to see how that works for you. I found most of the time, I was tenting on soft enough ground that carefully pushing pegs in with my shoes worked find. On the few places where the ground was hard and rocky, I found small rocks to push the tent pegs in. I also took eight pegs even though, as you said, 4 will keep the Durston up. But there were a couple of times when I used extra guy lines and pegs to stabilise in strong wind. Looking forward to following your journey!!
Thanks Kurt, I hope I get better at packing so I have more room for food. Off to the airport in 30 minutes, it doesn’t seem real after so long planning.
Hi Ray. Wondering how you find that zenbivy pillow? I am looking for a new one, so considering options. I am predominantly a side sleeper, and tend to like alot of loft. Also tuck my arm under my pillow.
Nice video. Looking forward to following your adventures.
Awesome, thank you!

I am also a side sleeper and put my arm under the pillow. It’s the best pillow I have had and I really like the feathered topper.
