Hey guys this was filmed last summer, hence the t shirt! Also, since this was filmed so long ago i have already resold the truck, for the same reason i sold it the first time...someone else needs to enjoy it! There will be 2 more videos on this series on the repairs and body work
awwww, I thought for a second we were gonna get some content on that Outback. Then again I should have expected this as I can't imagine you have a day the ground's not snowy in Vermont
It's great that you were able to get it back. But I must admit that I do feel a bit sorry for the guy that lost everything, including the legal problems he is now probably facing as well. No doubt, a very hard lesson learned for him. I guess his loss is your gain now.
Wow! Ok that is a sign that you need to fix up this ol girl And what the heck, how do you not have snow right now in Vermont? *edit* ah its footage from this summer before your cross country trip! ok.
My buddy Kyle Campaign had a beige 1984 GMC C10 Square-body and he is trying to sell it for $14,900 and to be honest, that truck does look really good and it is in pretty mint condition and he added a couple things to it like a new radio, LED Lights, Sub's, and Off-Road tires
As a retired career Road Dog LEO, I have a VERY short list of reasons (legal ones) why the gent who purchased this classic K10 from you could not operate the truck or legally own ANY road worthy vehicle for that matter.
@@jamespfitz The VERY short list probably include a variation (depending on the wording of any particular state's code of laws) of the letters D, I, U, W and probably the word multiple...If I had to guess....But like one gent told me after I asked him, following two arrests (one by me in the early morning hours and later that day by a State Trooper for the same offenses) why he kept driving....His response was along the lines of "As long as they keep putting steering wheels in 'em....I'll keep driving." And he did...Right up until he was the cause of a head on collision that killed him and left a young man in a wheel chair for the rest of his life. The last registered owner of the dead man's vehicle ended up paying out big time in the civil suit that followed since the dead man had, of course, no DL, was forbidden by law to own or operate a motor vehicle, had no vehicle insurance, and thus had never registered the car in his name. Was it fair to the last registered owner? I can't say that it was....But the jury and judge thought so.
@I’m a MORON!!Some states, NOT all but some, place a ban on owning (read that as registering) a motor vehicle after a given number of alcohol and/or drug related DUI/DWI convictions. Jail time, for those convicted, also tends to increase in direct relation to the number of convictions with the most time going to those defined (by law) an Habitual Offenders OR in the case of Felony DUI/DWI convictions even if the conviction if for what would otherwise be a First Offense. Felony is used to describe an instance where a passenger, pedestrian, or other driver(s) and/or their passenger(s) are so badly injured by the actions of an impaired driver as to nearly die, injured in some permanently disabling way, or outright killed. The wording of such laws varies to one degree or another from state to state. In some states knowingly selling/transferring a motor vehicle to a person without a drivers license OR through a "straw sale" is treated much like such a sale or transfer would be had the seller transferred a firearm and/or ammunition to a person, who by law, is banned from owning or possessing a firearm and/or ammunition. As in the example I noted above, I'm not crazy about what the civil court decided but the law was very specific and the seller DID avoid criminal prosecution because the DA and the LEOs felt that he had no way of knowing what selling a car out of his front yard (the old family four door sedan) without asking to see a drivers license. He took the cash, signed over the title, handed over the keys, and went on with his life until served with papers for Civil Court.
@@fdmackey3666LEO here too, Kentucky State Police, in my state, one wouldn't "sign over the title ", here you have to have both parties sign the title in the presence of a notary public, putting it in the other person's name. This guy would have been charged with failure to register transfer. However, here, the truck would've went to auction, no one here would track down at registered owner
For the love of everything, please don't forget some glasses and gloves (especially when crawling underneath). Takes one slip up to lose some eye sight or split a hand open. Love the videos!
that's so crazy! the truck literally came back to you💯 If If that happened to me I'd probably keep the truck and restore it, make it a project, customize and modify! Build a dope ass truck!
I was like what is this...I think this video was a few years ago cause I thought it already existed...then see it was from just 3 days ago? Watching now!! 👀
You got LUCKY. This is why, when you sell a car, you need to ideally transfer the title at a DMV on the spot, or at the very least, get a notarized bill of sale and turn it in to your state so there is proof you sold it.
AMAZING! I'm currently putting together a '78 k10,355,4spd,sitting on 33's. I absolutely love these old squarebodys, you can't beat the reliability and simplicity of them. #CHEVROLET #SQUAREBODY SYNDICATE
Also noticed that this was filmed the end of last summer. Which makes the "last year " reference make more sense. Smart idea about video timing till you can do all you wanted with it and get it gone before the content shows up on the net. So that when he sees "that kid with my truck" it's already over and done.
The original video of your square body chevy posted forever ago (the flat black one) is what made me find your channel. You gotta get another one soon! Edit: Wow! I wrote this before the video even started LOL I cant believe its the same truck!!! Crazy!
Had that happen to a Cadillac Deville I had in 2012, was told it was fished out of a river many months after selling it by the police. I told them "you win a free car!"
I thought I recognized that truck ! I hope he gets his life together but it is what it is . Being a street cop for 12 years ,, I can read between the lines . If you wouldn’t have went and picked it up , it would have been sold for parts or scrap soon . Glad you got it back . Sale it to a licensed driver next time haha . It’s an awesome older truck , now that your way financially ahead on this deal , think about doing a 5.3 Chevy motor swap . Complete from oil pan to intake . Fuel injection, the whole 9 yards . Put a cheap decent paint job on it and keep that thing !!
Hate to act like a father but be careful when under a manual truck jumping the starter. I’m sure you’re not a doorknob leaving it in gear but I wouldn’t want to see you down and out. Keep up the great work, and stay safe👍
You know if you can pull the ignition box off of the side of the column under the dash you can start it with the bad ignition. No I never stole a square body. Just have been around them my whole life.
I had that happen to me. The buyer never changed the title over on a van I sold. I did report the sale to the state. It got impounded and the tow yard contacted me saying I could come get it. The buyer had the title however and I figured they might come after me to get the Van back after I paid all the fees. I didn't feel I was the legal owner and if I went and got a replacement title in my name maybe that would be fraud. Maybe that was their plan? Whatever it was i figured the government and courts and maybe violence might get involved so i didn't go get it. I even had a key for it .
The same thing happened to my 98 blazer. Guy bought it from me for $800. Drive it with bad tags for mouths, and had it impounded. The impound lot called me, and said if I pay the $450 fines I can have it back. I paid the fines, and sold it again for $750.
When you first said you were getting the truck back, I pretty much figured that was the case, before you explained it. How about the title any issues getting a new one??
@@ARuralVermonterQqjmcb182 lol might be worth it to put the $1300 back in and make it pretty. If you paint it you should paint it red. Red square bodies are hawt! But hey you do you and I'll keep watching!
Only you that would happen to my friend. Gotta be careful. You don't need to end up be hide bar's. We'd all miss ya. Ask to see the buyers photo I.D. next time you sell a vehicle. Dealer's do it. Save yourself a lot of problems.

D*MN. I was just going to tell you that I'd give you $800 for it just like it sits in the video. :-)
Can’t wait

Smart of you to wait until it's sold to upload the video. Old mate who got it impounded might have come looking for vengeance.
What a steal! A dodge guy myself but love any old truck!
Figuratively and literally
Same here. I love the old dodge and chevy trucks
Squarebody K10s are beautiful I'd love to restore one someday, but this K10 seems to want you as an owner

I love that the impound lot looks like a campground. They're a lot less pretty here in Chicago.
Dude in Chicago it’s like a Walmart parking lot
I haven’t even began this video yet but I can tell you a $400 square body is always worth it.
The moment you started that thing was just heartwarming for some reason.

This is a sign from the Chevy God's, do not sell it. It came back to you, so it's meant to be yours forever..........
Can't beat price almost worth hold on to being almost free truck after flip it
