I have two of the Rythmik L12's with a MiniDSP 2x4 and the SVS Soundpath Isolation feet in my media room. Unbelievable perfromance! After a half day of REW and playing with placement, the subs just disappeared in my room. Highly recommend! Good luck with your surgery brotha!
Last month I traded my two SVS PB-1000 Pro subs for one Rythmik F18 and after running ARC Genesis the difference was obvious. I got a clean, tactile and fast bass, no regrets. Now waiting on a JTR Cap RS2 to be delivered in a couple of months which is another sealed sub. I am now sold on sealed subwoofers from now on.
The Rythmik won hands down in output, extension and most of all, articulation. I didn’t understand what articulation was until I was able to A/B both subs. Direct Servo tech is magic. The sb17 is an amazing sub and anyone would be happy with it, but the Rythmik’s articulation while hitting as hard and as low as it does is 10/10. My settings are 12hz, high damping, rumble filter off.
@@tyrell3000 if you watch movies you may want to turn the rumble filter on, some movies like edge of tomorrow have pretty crazy infrasonics that can even make an 18" or 21" bottom out. The rumble filter is there to protect the sub from those extremes that should have never been in the mix to begin with. Before you send either one back just make sure you put a good amount of hours on each one but it sounds like your taste is towards the SQ side of the spectrum. Now everytime you see someone say "bass is bass" or "it's just frequency & SPL" or argue how some X brand has more watts or specs etc... you'll cringe inside like I do :) Afterall subwoofers are speakers too, of course they don't all sound the same. Congrats on finding a sub you love!!
Adding quickly. When I ordered the F-18s, they took about a month from the moment I placed the order to the delivery. I don't know if this will happen to other models, but it was my case. They did send me an email to confirm they had them fabricated and were ready to ship. Also, when you buy two, you get a small discount. IMHO, worth every penny. Set-up, in my case was brief. No need to deal with a port, and the instructions were straightforward. Any questions? Call them...
I wonder if you ordered during a busy time maybe, when I bought my F12 pair they shipped pretty quickly and from payment to delivery was abou 5-7 days.
I had 2 Velodyne DD-18's back in the day and they were and still are phenomenal ! My friend has them now. I wish I didn't get rid of them but concerns over parts and repair (once) had me switch to SVS. BUT... Rythmik has me thinking about servo's again. Great video my dude ✊🏼
@@NemoPropaganda I did years ago and they got my attention. The dd-18's were the benchmark and can still outperform subs many times there price even today. Very impressive indeed.
@@ben23a31 I dunno about many times their price, IIRC that DD18 was like $5k each!!!!!! A $5000 sub bought 20 years ago is like spending $8400 on a sub today!! It was a great sub no doubt but it had a price tag to match even by todays standards.
@@ben23a31 yeah bro, that thing was nutty expensive when new, same with the old sports cars, people always complain cars are getting more expensive but consider the 90's Supra, a lot of people don't realize the old Supra was about $65k out the door in 1995 for a twin turbo model.... $125k+ in todays money, eeeek!!!!!! My buddy still has the sticker sheet from his, $57,999 in 1994!!
You pretty much confirmed my decision to make a Rythmik my next HT purchase. I was pretty sure I was going to get the F15HP2, but now I'm considering the FV18 or F18.
Can't speak on the 15hp2, but i got the the e15. I really, really like it. We went to watch bad boys 4 in theater and I was disappointed. That being said, It wasnt imax, but it wasnt thier regular showing either, If home theater matters to you, and you have the space get the f18, then later get another. I had my 15 paired up with a kef kube12b it was money in my space. My wife that's not even into audio commented how much better sounding watching a movie at home was compared to the theather, non IMAX or RPX. My kid broke the Kef so now I'm torn between getting another e15 or getting the F18 for my .2 the only reason I'm torn is because of cost. I have issues justifying spending 2k+ for a .2 when am also planning on buying a 308 + scope + suppressor next year for my birthday.
@@USMCPFC1 that is a tough choice, a second E15 would be $1399 which is a hell of a value while an F18 would be $1849 so $449 more money for the 18", my logic says since that's less than the cost of a good supressor I'd rather spend the extra on the F18 unless OCD dictates you have matching subs which I would totally understand. Honestly though if you're already loving 1 E15 a secone one may be all ya need!!!
I have not heard the R18S so I cannot comment on tonal difference or any other characteristics of the bass fidelity however on paper they seem to be fairly similar in size, weight, and power. This may simply be a situation where going MFG direct with Rythmik saves you a good amount of coin. Given the price disparity I think it's important to point out you can have 2 F18's and still pocket a couple bucks, we don't need to hear either sub to know 2 18's will do more than 1 :)
@@roccobruno8027 as I have not heard it I cannot comment on its sound quality, all I can say is in my experience very few companies make true SQ subwoofers, so far I have only found 2 brands and Rythmik is one of them and making a large SQ subwoofer is another story alltogether.
Thank you for this video Nemo. I have an old servo Velodyne 18" high gloss black sub and I think this sub would work just fine running them together. The price is respectable for this size. I love how you made a point that there is a difference between loud and SQ. You can most definitely hear the bass range when you have it played by a capable subwoofer. 👍😎 The same is true for regular speakers. Louder doesn't make a speaker sound better. A quality SQ speaker can upon the first few notes to a familiar song just open your senses to the fidelity. 👍😎😎
Yeah Rythmik won me over pretty handedly after having SVS 2000’s, SB13 Ultra, SB16’s and PB16’s. I was able to get the Piano black SN#001 and #002 G25HP’s to replace the PB16’s. I made the mistake of selling the #002 when I thought I might downsize and immediately regretted it due to the uneven response in my room. Luckily I found a local guy selling one so I have a pair again. I was pleased to learn years later that GR-Research (also in Texas) has a partnership with Rythmik and Rythmik makes special open baffle 12” drivers for GRResearch H frame subs. I ended up building a pair of their speakers and dual Rythmik H-Frame open baffle. Now for two channel I don’t even need the G25HP’s but for HT all 4 subs are active. Until you know and hear the Rythmik finesse of bass as you have described in your video you really won’t understand how the higher SPL subs end up creating boom and ringing which has its place, just is not the best for 2 channel listening. The way I describe the G25HP’s and Rythmik in general to others who are not audiophiles is it’s like having a subwoofer that’s an actual brain processing and controlling the bass, like it’s a live response system. TRON Legacy is a great movie to demonstrate the control and finesse unique to Rythmik.
I recently installed a set of Isoacoustics Gaia under my Rythmics. After years of fiddling with positions and settings to blend better with audiophile speakers. It's completely one sound.
The 2 I checked out don’t but they have line in and out plus svs just came out with a product that eliminates that issue so you can use any sub with a speaker level input
So… synopsis of choosing which home audio subwoofer to buy. If you listen to music mainly- just buy the rhythmic sub that fits your room size the best. The end. Lol They flat out slay it.
My bro you’ve been kind and nice to me in the comments answering my questions So for that I pray and wish you a great successful surgery and get back to your usual normal self soon 🙏
Hey Nemo. First of all thanks a lot for great job with reviews and opening my eyes on Rythmik. I’m in the process of buying new sub and I’m between f12 and e15. My room is 17’ by 12’ and 8’ ceiling. Would you recommend e15 over f12? I’m mostly music guy but also like to enjoy good movie once a week and would want to have proper set up to handle both. I don’t listen to loud so max output is definitely less of concern. With f12 I might be able potentially add second unit in the future. I don’t think I can do that with e15 due to size.
did we already talk about this or do I have you mixed up with someone else? I had someone in my discord in the exact same situation. Anywho, to me the E15hp2 is an upgrade over the F12 without any tradeoffs so a 1 for 1 the easy choice is E15hp2 as long as the budget permits it and the larger sub is not an issue. To be clear the F12 is still an absolute winner and one of the finest 12" subwoofers money can buy. With that said your real issue is do you want dual F12 or a single E15hp2, that's a tougher question to answer, some rooms have awful issues and really need dual subs to sound right while other rooms will sound amazing with a single sub. If you're preferring to have a single sub either way I think you'll be happy with either one especially for music but the single E15hp2 will have the output of dual F12 which will be appreciated during the dynamic peaks of movies. hope that helps.
@ thanks for the good advise. I’m more restricted on the size with second sub. I could have one e15 but if I’ll want second sub it will have to be smaller. Would it make sense to do e15 and f12 together? Would I still get the sq of e15 or at this point I should just go with double f12?
@@jacek19802611 you can go either way, running a e15 and an f12 together would be just fine. But if youshould go dual F12 or single E15hp2, I can't answer that, that's really up to you. You're welcome to hop in my free discord and post up a pic of the room, maybe people will chime and help push you in one direction or another.
@@bigmike5785 perhaps for you based on your taste and in your room, but there could be people who may feel the same way about not using a subwoofer at all, of course I think those people are crazy :)
Nemo I’m sorry to hear you are dealing with a medical problem. I hope that your surgery goes well, is completely successful, and that you experience restored health as soon as possible. Thank you for taking the time and interest to answer my inquiries with you such as my recent ones regarding the Cabasse Muranos and Galion TSA34. Take care.
thank you bro! I'm 16 days post op now, this video was filmed before the surgery because I knew it would be massively delayed otherwise. Everything went well and I'm just recovering now :)
Love your reviews. I currently own two E15HP2s. I love the speed and output of them, but you got me thinking about the depth of the 18 vs. speed of 15s. Is the degree of depth more pronounced for the 18 vs. the degree of speed for the 15? My application is mostly home theater. Also, wishing you all the best
it all depends how sensitive you are to either one, to most people I know who upgraded from the E15 to the F18 they felt any trade off was well worth it. But if you value transients as your main priority and don't care much for a few more hertz of extension and a larger sense of scale you pay prefer your smaller subs. But I think most people would be very happy making the switch as long as the room can accomodate them :) You do already have a pair of amazing subs though so you certainly can take your time thinking about it :)
I compared it to the KF92 in the KF92 review. I have not reviewed the KC92 yet but my understanding is it was mostly a name change to be more consistent.
damping set to high, rca preout from preamp, rest of the settings are pretty room and speaker dependant so not really gonna help anyone but music is generally gonna sound best with damping set to high unless you prefer a looser sound then you can drop it down to low. I had my slope set to 24 and rumble filter was on and set to the lowest setting to protect the sub from dumb signwaves that certain soundtracks have.
Nemo, have you heard the CSS SDX12 kits? I own two of the 12" PR subs powered by a Behringer NX6000D. Wondering how they compare to the Rythmiks and RELs in terms of musicality? I love them for 2CA, but wish they had more LFE grip for HT. I can't push them as hard as I want without bottoming them out, which seems insane with their XMAX. Perhaps I don't have the DSP dialed enough yet.
I have not heard them but you gotta remember dual 12's while amazing in stereo pairs are still considered small subs for theater duty. Depending on the room and personal listening habits you can easily find the limits of dual 12's, conversly for some people they will be more than they'll ever need.
Y’all, based on this, I can only imagine how good the G25HP must be. It’s Rythmik’s top-of-the-line big boii subwoofer and let me know if anyone here has that or has any experience with it! Great review as always and a speedy recovery for you Nemo!
It's a real big bruiser. I think it has less tradeoffs and compromises than any sub in its lineup, minus its huge size. That's its only real weakness. But it's a nearly perfect sub for its price.
my buddy has the G25hp, I've heard it in his theater, it's cool because you can make it look like an end table in certain living rooms so it's almost hidden in plain sight. It is of course a monster :)
@@NemoPropaganda I’m convinced that’s the next upgrade for me because it’s the SQ subwoofer and can do both theater and music. I think that is my next subwoofer of choice. Keep in mind my current reference is dual S510s, but this that’s in a much smaller room and I’m looking for two subs that can fill out a room that’s twice the size right now :) I’m moving to a new house in two months and will follow up with measurements in your next live stream or something like that in the new year at some point!!
@@Novilicious if cost was no object I'd be chanting "S510 6-pack" :) do keep in mind as quick as the F18 is the much smaller S510 will have slightly quicker transients much like Rythmiks smaller F12SE having slightly better transients.
@@NemoPropaganda good point! My dream speakers are the Martin Logan ML15A electrostatics so I’m just buying subs that will eventually work with those. Basically, it’s the Carbon Specials, Rel 31/32, Perlisten D212/15 series, and the Balanced force subs that are fast enough to keep up with these. I’ve heard a lot of speakers but something spooky and crazy transparent about electrostatics. As for Rythmik, my thinking was, their most expensive subs (G25HPs) must be their fastest. Out of all the subs I mentioned, I love that they are the cheapest (BY FAR) so hence they were my first choice :)
I am experimenting with subwoofers now that the sales are going. What do you think about the Definitive Technology Descend 15" 500 watts($1079), Monoprice M215 2000 watts($1699), Monoprice 15" 800 watts ($249)? Sale Prices.

@@brosmile9388 perseonally I would not buy a monoprice or monolith product, if you are shopping in that "value price" category I think RSL is much better, if you have a little more budget Rythmik is even better. As far as the DN15, I would rather have a Rythmik FVX12 or RSL 12S instead.
Hey speedy recovery.. I’ll like to ask I have 2 klipsch Rp1600sw subs and as you mentioned in your vid about the 16ultras not producing good musical bass above 30-40hz I have the same issue with the 1600’s can you advise which of these subs would be able to be placed close to the mlp and help boost the 30-80hz frequencies using a mini dsp for hpf filters and tuning .. thanks
Yeah, the RP1600sw is like a poor mans PB16 so I'm not surprised. My friend had a system similar to that and he added a pair of SB2000 Pro in the back of his theater flanking the couch to help bring back some of that tactile slam that his giant vented subs couldn't produce with enough definition. Depending on your room. It doesn't have to be s2000 pro specifically but you'll want something that is known to be a little more tactile like the RSL 10E/S, REL 1205 mk2, SB 1000/2000/3000, JL D110, etc...
@ hey thank you for the reply I appreciate it I picked up one of the D110 today I’m in shock what this little sub is capable of doing I’m definitely picking up a second one soon .. it’s a really precise fast subwoofer being that my room is 33ft x35ft the pair of d110 should do a decent job in achieving some of those higher frequencies.. running the rf7iii towers in full band cannot compare to adding this sub .. I’ll let the 1600’s dig deep and let the JL handle the 45-120hz frequencies using the mini dsp 2x4hd and REW to do the matching ..I appreciate your reply and wish you a speedy recovery.. keep up the great reviews 👍🏽
@@NemoPropaganda haha I think ChatGtp agrees with you 👍🏽 The JL Audio Dominion d110 can help fill in the higher bass frequencies that might be lacking in your Klipsch RP-1600SW subwoofers due to their tuning and design, especially when considering the impact of a high-pass filter (HPF) in your setup. Here’s why: 1. Subwoofer Tuning and Frequency Response • The RP-1600SW is a ported subwoofer designed for deep bass extension and high output, but ported subs often sacrifice upper-bass clarity (above ~60-80 Hz). This results in: • Less precise reproduction of higher bass frequencies (e.g., 60-100 Hz). • Potential gaps in the frequency response around the crossover region, particularly with the HPF applied. • The JL d110, being a sealed subwoofer, excels at producing tight, accurate bass across a wider frequency range, including the upper bass. Its sealed design avoids the phase shift and transient issues that ported designs can exhibit in the higher bass frequencies. Result: The d110 can fill in those missing higher bass frequencies (e.g., 60-120 Hz) with better detail and articulation. 2. Integration with High-Pass Filter (HPF) • If your system uses an HPF (high-pass filter) for the main speakers, frequencies below the crossover point are redirected to the subwoofers. However, ported subs like the RP-1600SW may not handle the upper-bass transition as smoothly as a sealed subwoofer. • RP-1600SW Limitation: The upper-bass frequencies from ~80-120 Hz can sound less defined or even slightly “bloated” due to the slower roll-off and resonance inherent to ported designs. • JL d110 Advantage: The sealed d110 handles these frequencies with greater speed and clarity, filling any gaps or deficiencies caused by the HPF. Result: You’ll achieve a smoother and more seamless blend between your main speakers and subwoofers. 3. Faster Transient Response • Ported subwoofers like the RP-1600SW are tuned for maximum output at lower frequencies, but this can come at the cost of slower transient response (how quickly the sub responds to changes in the audio signal). • The sealed d110 has a faster transient response, which: • Helps better reproduce the “punch” of kick drums, bass guitar plucks, or higher-frequency bass sounds in both music and movies. • Makes upper bass frequencies sound tighter and more controlled, where the RP-1600SW might sound a bit sluggish or smeared. Result: The d110 can bring back the sense of speed and precision in higher bass frequencies, ensuring nothing is “missing.” 4. Blending with Your Mains • Your Klipsch RF-7 III and RC-64 III are powerful full-range speakers, but they can only reproduce so much bass before the HPF directs it to your subs. • The d110’s ability to handle higher crossover points (e.g., 80-120 Hz) smoothly complements your mains by providing the missing upper bass that might feel “weak” or “hollow” with the RP-1600SWs alone. • Using the miniDSP, you can set specific crossover points for the d110 to focus on this upper-bass region, while letting the RP-1600SWs focus on their strength: deep, room-filling bass. Result: A seamless transition between your mains and subs, with no audible gaps or overlaps in the frequency spectrum. 5. Smaller Driver, Higher Precision • The d110 has a 10-inch driver, which is smaller than the 16-inch drivers in the RP-1600SW. This smaller driver has: • Faster movement, better suited to handling higher bass frequencies without distortion. • A lower moving mass, allowing it to maintain clarity at higher frequencies where larger drivers might struggle. • The JL’s advanced motor structure and amp ensure that the d110 remains accurate and distortion-free, even when covering frequencies that are challenging for larger ported subs. Result: The d110 delivers precise upper bass frequencies that complement the power and extension of your RP-1600SWs. 6. Multi-Sub Optimization with miniDSP • When you integrate the d110 with your existing subs via the miniDSP, you can: • Assign specific frequency ranges to each subwoofer (e.g., let the d110 focus on 60-120 Hz while the RP-1600SWs handle
typically no, you'll want to get with a freight forwarder if you're outside the country. If you're unfamiliar with the service it's essentially a company that will accept the delivery in the US and then forward it to you for a fee. The end cost depends on your region & taxes, sometimes it only adds a little to the cost, othertimes it may double the cost but its worth looking into. They will generally quote a price based on air freight, if its too expensive ask if ocean freight is available, it's cheaper but can take much longer.
I love this subwoofer it’s the best of both worlds music monster and ht as well I’m very curious how this stacks up to the new sealed s1813m power sound audio subwoofer
Powersound looks like serious value but they don't do review samples :( I'd imagine it's great for the money but won't have the transients of the F18 or the same clarity in the leading edges.
have you heard any psa subs? it’s on par with rythmik as far as quality bass if Rythmik is number 1 psa is number 2 or tied in many aspects the Italian b&c drivers sound excellent with music that’s why I said I’d be very curious how it stacks up with the psa being a bit cheaper
@@danemoreno88 yeah I've heard the TV24 but only in a theater setting, it was pretty aggressive so I'm not sure I'd say it's the same as Rythmik, it was a very different sound but extremely capable in its own right. @ oh ok cool I looked it up and that sub is a lot different than the one I had The tv24 doesn’t have b&c woofers and it has the old amp. I just wish rythmik wasn’t ALWAYS out of stock on more than 50 percent of their entire line up at any given time they need to do better on that and probably lose a lot of business to that effect .

Which model of Rhythmic subwoofer would you recommend to go with a pair of modded (fuse removed) Magnapans .7 speakers. It goes in my moderately sized living room. How do you compare to the Perlisten subwoofer?
Depends on your usage case, I have not heard Magnepans, but bost maggie/rythmik users I've talked to are using F12SE. I have not reviewed Perlisten so I can't really say but their design seems to be like JL Audio but even more extreme.
I think highly of you and your reviews so I would value you doing a shootout between Rhythmic and Perlisten Subwoofers. Also, the new lineup of Magnapans represents an amazing value although certain lower priced models still do better with a proper sub. I have talked to a tech guy at Magnapan who likes matching them with Perlisten, but I would really value your opinion on this. Also, I like to support audiophile gear that is made in America if all other things are relatively equal.
@@DavidFreud1 Hi bro, thank you for the kind words, as a rule I don't review products in excess of 80 lbs, this was a huge exception because I was very curious myself, i did this for my own curiousity and for the countless requests I've received over the years. PB16 is a beast my bro, it's just a different kind of sub. It'll rumble like hell with wet watery style bass but you can't expect a massive vented sub to sound as tight as a sealed sub. The PB16 is much larger and can most likely play much much louder overall so don't feel bad about what you got, it's just different but has it's own benifits.
@NemoPropaganda Thanks Nemo. I have a PSA xs30 dual 15's sealed. I think I got it around 2013. I listen to music also, so I was thinking maybe the F18 would fill both roles better. When you said my friend had 2 of them, I wonder if you were talking about Shane Lee? 🤔
@@NemoPropaganda very nice. I'm thinking about ordering an F18 and putting It up against the PB16. Honestly, I'm not into cranking my system. I'm just wondering witch sub you would go for? I know you love Rythmik.
@@failingup4907 both subs are way too big for my room bro :) as I mentioned, these are two really different subwoofers, it's not that one is particularly better than the other, they're different subs with different goals in mind. The PB16 is an output monster designed primarily for LFE duty, if you're going to be using it for LFE duty you're gonna love it. But if you're looking to have killer bass in a music system... well, most people would agree a giant vented LFE sub is not the ideal sub for a music system, not because they're bad, it's just not what they're made for.

Good luck on your surgery!! 🎉 Can you please tell Rythmik to make more FVX12!!! They are currently showing back ordered till further notice!! 🎉 Also, do you know why they increased all of their prices quite a bit?? 🎉 😢
Rythmik prices have all been the same for the past year so I'm not sure what you're referring to but I do expect EVERYONE to raise their prices in the first quarter of 2025. As far as inventory I don't have any power over them my bro, they are their own company. thank you bro! I'm 16 days post op now, this video was filmed before the surgery because I knew it would be massively delayed otherwise. Everything went well and I'm just recovering now :)
I have both an E15 HP2 and a FV15 HP2. They're both phenomenal individually and shockingly adept at working together. I have them paired in my HT system and I'm completely thrilled with the quality, power, and depth of the bass I'm blessed to experience. Rythmik subs are a must for me. The 18" sealed version has my attention, but for the time being I'm wonderfully satisfied with what I already possess. Maybe someday.
oh brother, you're good already! the FV15hp is bigger and has more output than the F18!! Vented subs with smaller drivers absolutely can and often will outperform the next size up sealed model in terms of total output. For example a vented 10" can usually outperform a sealed 12". The sealed F18 will get you a more compact sub that can play the lowest infrasonics a little better like the intro for edge of tomorrow, firgure 10-15hz but from about 20hz on up the FV15hp should have more grunt to it overall. The only reason to give up your FV15 for an F18 would be to have a smaller cabinet, chase infrasonics, or if you wanted a little bit of a tighter sound.
Cool! I have that subwoofer. Actually, I have TWO of them in my stereo system. I do recommend it if you are a music lover. I got them during Spring time.
I refuse to compare products that have extreme size or price disparity. This is like asking how a Camaro compares to a Cayman, sure they're both cars but if someone is considering one or the other that means they don't really know what they are looking for. If anyone is cross shopping a 12" against an 18" I would suggest they are not ready to make any purchase, should slow down, and hop in an online group where they can learn a little more about subwoofers and how they work. I have my own free discord anyone is welcome to join and there are countless other groups on facebook and various forums.
@ well… that answers that question lol. I could tell you why I asked, but it doesn’t really matter. Fwiw a 982 Cayman and a Camaro ss 1le are not as far apart as you might think. Hurican and 991.2 gt3 is probably the dichotomy you’re looking for
@@Tsxtasy1 I respect your car knowledge but think about it, base Cayman, small, light nimble but more expensive than camaro, Camaro V8 is larger, heavier, has a bigger engine, more power, but is cheaper, but good god are they completely different cars, not only from a design standpoint but how they drive, the gearing is a completely different experience, the mass, the heft, the chassis, refinement etc... You gotta realize my man I'm out here responding to 99% of my comments, I gotta draw the line somewhere, some questions require way too much context to answer or explain in the YT comments section. I have a free discord for anyone that wants to have longer conversations abut weird pairings, odd questions, and anything that requires a lot more context. I'm happy to answer more complex questions there when people explain the context, that allows me to answer the question, like some people live in a weird area where 2 subs that are wildly different in price in USA are the same price in their region, that changes things.
@ I brought that up because I’ve driven those cars at Cresson. I get what you’re saying in theory. But at pace the Cayman S/Camaro SS 1LE feel and behave fairly similar. C8 z51 didn’t get along with me. Hurican was brutal, gt3 is a dance partner. 488 and 720s felt like siblings making competing products I was just curious how much of a trade off it is to run 2 of these vs 2 s812’s with a jtr. If going above 90db at the listening position isn’t important in a 50/50 stereo/theater setup. Rel’s + jtr is a lot of $$ and I’ve never heard a Rythmik product in person. So in that aspect, yes, having never heard a Rythmik product qualifies as not enough knowledge about the market
@@Tsxtasy1 i respect the knowledge + experience but man the gearing and steering differences alone between the cayman and camaro made them night and day differences to me, the cayman was more that go kart experience, hardly any roll, quick steering, good gearing, a smidgen long but not too bad, the camaro ss by contrast couldn't hide its mass and I didn't expect it to either, gearing was insanely long to the point it sucked all the excitement out of the experience. Almost like driving an S Class at 100mph, it just too comfortable to feel the speed. To be clear I'm talking about stock for stock, track prepped examples are of course a very different story. Hop in my free discord man, show us the room, tell us a little more about your goals, and what you're expecting to gain with either option, we're happy to help in these more complex situations, it's just not possible in the YT comments. YT also has a habbit of deleting comments or not sending me the notification, that's why I say I answer 99% and not 100%. Link is in the description of all my videos.
They have the same extension but the F18 can can play those lower frequencies a little louder and is a little more tactile when set to it's high damping mode. They're both 100+ lb Rythmik subs so they're cut from a similar cloth, I think most people would be happy with either. I know Enrico (owner) loves the G22, I believe it's his fav but my fav is actually the FVX12 but that's just personal taste on our parts, it's like buying a Porsche 911, should you get a GTS or a 4S? They're both great, just a little different but also very similar :)
@NemoPropaganda thanks Nemo, I already have two G22s but I want to get two more (back channel movie bass / superlative, effortless 2 channel bass with 4 subs). I was thinking of getting two F18s or 2 G22s, perhaps I'll just stick with the g22s.
In regard to an SQ subwoofer that can play loud and extend down low to 10Hz, there's Funk Audio for both his sealed and insane ported Ultra LFE models (Nathan's port design is unique and the only one to be designed that way at least to my knowledge). Only downside about his subs is that they're quite pricey.
@@NemoPropaganda - Aye .. I got my little anklette socks in my videos too .. mainly because some disgruntled people told me now to put my feet on camera ... so now I do it all the time =)
@@psyphonyxaudio I'm just not showing off these puppies for free lmao, everything gotta price, imma need at least $6.95/month to show these puppies lololol
there is a ton of light on the bottom to show off the drivers of each sub, otherwise you wouldn't be able to see it, that's making my legs look super white lol, I am fairly light though. My momma is porcalin white :)
Great video, once again. Good luck with your surgery also. Relating to your classification of sq vs SPL subwoofers. Specifically classing the JL Audio subs (E112 referenced)as a SPL focussed sub is innacurate IME. Having owned probably 40 or so subs including Rel No25’s/ 212sx’s, Martin Logan balanced Force 212’s, Descent’s and JL Audio F113’s, F212’s and E112’s (among many other brands), I can confidently say JL Audio subs are amongst the highest performing sub brands on the planet for music based systems. I believe this is due to their clarity and stop start performance (note distinction in your terminology ?) , which aside from the ultra high end brands (Magico, Wilson et al) is amongst the best available. Reviews from Stereophile and the Absolute sound also support JL Audio subs in a two channel context. At this point, based on your testing, you mention Rel and Rythmik as being sq based subs. IME there are a few other sub brands that meet the grade for music based systems including Martin Logan, Perlisten and some B&W, Focal and Dynaudio models amongst others. I hope you get to test more subs from these brands in the future, your comparisons are particularly helpful.
it is not inaccurate, you may simply misunderstand the context of my comment. Your comment sounds like you feel "SPL sub" means it is low performing, that is not the case. I currently own both D110 and E110 and have reviewed both, I too have owned and reviewed many subwoofers, if you watch my JL E110 video I think it will become more clear on what I mean by SPL subwoofer. This is a mistake a lot of you guys make, you think I'm saying SQ is good and SPL is bad, but that is not what i am saying and I have clarified this many times, I even made a dedicated video titled REL vs SVS where I go into further detail on the difference of SPL & SQ subs, link is in the description. JL is full blown SPL all the way, that doesn't mean its slow and sloppy, that doesn't mean it has poor start stop behavior, I've never said that's what SPL is. Compared to REL & Rythmik JL does crush some detail, it is more in your face, and has a more aggressive presentation overall and a tone that is much heavier overall, that is SPL style bass, some people love it, some people feel it strains the ears a bit or can cause fatigue much litke an analytical or brighter speaker can cause fatigue for some. That doesn't mean warm and rolled off speakers are inherently better. As always this hobby is about personal taste. JL is 100% SPL all the way and possible the best SPL style sub in the market if you need a compact enclosure. Your stance is like if you disagreed with me saying Focal Aria is analytical because you feel Focal has good sound quality, okay sure, Focal Aria indeed has good sound quality but its still an analytical speaker. That's not a diss, it is what it is.
Praying for a speedy recovery from surgery and you get back to 100%.
Finally, this is the first time i have seen someone who does review on subs review these.
Hope your back is alright!
luckily no issues with moving this thing around :) I never picked it up a single time, I rolled & slided it around as needed :)
Yesssssss! Finally. I've had dual F18s for 3 years. Unreal performance
Finally, I've been waiting for this review for ages! Excited to watch.
Fantastic video. Great info. Good luck with the surgery and fast recovery!
Crazy! You just celebrated 20k and knocking on the door of 30k. Congrats!
thank you, I think some are bots, a lot came in a big chunk but not many new comments, I don't know, either way, thank you :)
My F18 will be here tomorrow. I have a SVS sb17 here as well. May the best sub win. The one I like the most is staying.
word of warning, those subs both have stiff drivers and need serious hours on them. Try and get 20+ hours on each one.
They are currently on backorder till late November per the website.
Another great video Nemo as always.Never tired or bored with them.Get well.

Nemo goes on with the show and fights through the pain. That's my dream sub. Good luck with your surgery, you got this
I had 2 Velodyne DD-18's back in the day and they were and still are phenomenal ! My friend has them now. I wish I didn't get rid of them but concerns over parts and repair (once) had me switch to SVS. BUT... Rythmik has me thinking about servo's again. Great video my dude ✊🏼
They actually have CEA data on their website for the F18 versus the DD18 if you want to look at it :)
@@NemoPropaganda wow, you're absolutely right lol. I got mine used and forgot their original retail price. Good point.

Excellent review. Dynaudio also makes SQ subwoofers by the way. I own one, very happy with it.
My G25HP by Rythmik arrived last weekend. AMAZING sub. I would LOVE to see you review that one.
no way bro, that thing is too big for my room lol, I did review the G22 though :)
You pretty much confirmed my decision to make a Rythmik my next HT purchase. I was pretty sure I was going to get the F15HP2, but now I'm considering the FV18 or F18.
a guy in my discord had the FV18 looked wild, I really wish I had the room to try one. He loved it!

@@mercertj you can't go wrong with any of them, maybe try shooting them an email to get their thoughts but they all sound great!!
I know the price points are different but I would be curious as to how the 18" Rythmik would compare to the Perlisten R18S?
I have not heard the R18S so I cannot comment on tonal difference or any other characteristics of the bass fidelity however on paper they seem to be fairly similar in size, weight, and power. This may simply be a situation where going MFG direct with Rythmik saves you a good amount of coin. Given the price disparity I think it's important to point out you can have 2 F18's and still pocket a couple bucks, we don't need to hear either sub to know 2 18's will do more than 1 :)
@@NemoPropaganda More to do with sound quality vs SPL subwoofer designs.
@@roccobruno8027 as I have not heard it I cannot comment on its sound quality, all I can say is in my experience very few companies make true SQ subwoofers, so far I have only found 2 brands and Rythmik is one of them and making a large SQ subwoofer is another story alltogether.
Great review. Get well soon, Sir.
It's possible, I never heard the old DD18, it's about 20 years old now so it may or may not keep up with the F18 but its certainly worth a shot :)
Love my Rythmik!
TRON Legacy is a great movie to demonstrate the control and finesse unique to Rythmik.
glad you dig it brother!!
I recently installed a set of Isoacoustics Gaia under my Rythmics. After years of fiddling with positions and settings to blend better with audiophile speakers. It's completely one sound.
Do Rhythmik subwoofers have high level line input? I don't have an LFE output and run the line level speaker cables on my 2 channel sub.
I have this same question. No sub out on my source
The 2 I checked out don’t but they have line in and out plus svs just came out with a product that eliminates that issue so you can use any sub with a speaker level input
Usually you can order them with the amp that has line level. When you do this you lose XLR inputs.
some of their subwoofers may have the option of high level inputs if you contact them, I know the F12 can be ordered with high level inputs.
So… synopsis of choosing which home audio subwoofer to buy.
If you listen to music mainly- just buy the rhythmic sub that fits your room size the best. The end. Lol
They flat out slay it.
Hallelujah! Finally you change sides😁
Thanks nemo for making another rythmik video ❤
My pleasure!!
My bro you’ve been kind and nice to me in the comments answering my questions
So for that I pray and wish you a great successful surgery and get back to your usual normal self soon 🙏
thank you bro!
Do you think the Arendal is SPL or SQ?
1961 1S was SPL for sure, 1723 1S was somewhere in the middle. I have not heard their other subs so can't really say.
Of course, an 18" can be audiophile. The question is, can a 10 or 12 be audiophile? An electric bass guitar sounds best on an 18.
of course they can, Rythmiks own F12SE is a great examples. Of course you can't expect a small sub to do what a massive sub does.
Is that the guy that thinks a 8" rel sub is "musical and dep" lol 😆
12s play down to the frequency range of a bass guitar
@andrewz925 sounds better on an 18 is all I'm sayin....
But I think most people would be very happy making the switch as long as the room can accomodate them :) You do already have a pair of amazing subs though so you certainly can take your time thinking about it :)
you have mentioned the Kef kc62 quite a few times, but how that compare to its big brother kc 92?
good luck with the surgery.
I compared it to the KF92 in the KF92 review. I have not reviewed the KC92 yet but my understanding is it was mostly a name change to be more consistent.
@ ah okay, i didn't know that too, thanks for the informations. i'm going to watch the KF92 review 👍
I think it's good that you have them side by side. It gives the audience a good size comparison. Honestly the 18 ain't that much bigger than the 15.
Totally agree, I was surprised!
What settings did you set this to for music and how were you connecting it to the amp
damping set to high, rca preout from preamp, rest of the settings are pretty room and speaker dependant so not really gonna help anyone but music is generally gonna sound best with damping set to high unless you prefer a looser sound then you can drop it down to low.
Nemo when are you going to try a OSD Sub?
never, those appear to be faily low quality and everyone I talked to that tried it said it was just okay for the money.

@@boombasticbass1374 wooo that was quick!! You made a great choice, that's the most tactile one in the list of subs I gave ya! Enjoy!!
@@NemoPropaganda haha I think ChatGtp agrees with you 👍🏽
The JL Audio Dominion d110 can help fill in the higher bass frequencies that might be lacking in your Klipsch RP-1600SW subwoofers due to their tuning and design, especially when considering the impact of a high-pass filter (HPF) in your setup. Here’s why:
1. Subwoofer Tuning and Frequency Response
• The RP-1600SW is a ported subwoofer designed for deep bass extension and high output, but ported subs often sacrifice upper-bass clarity (above ~60-80 Hz). This results in:
• Less precise reproduction of higher bass frequencies (e.g., 60-100 Hz).
2. Integration with High-Pass Filter (HPF)
• If your system uses an HPF (high-pass filter) for the main speakers, frequencies below the crossover point are redirected to the subwoofers.
3. Faster Transient Response
• Ported subwoofers like the RP-1600SW are tuned for maximum output at lower frequencies, but this can come at the cost of slower transient response (how quickly the sub responds to changes in the audio signal).
• The sealed d110 has a faster transient response, which:
• Helps better reproduce the “punch” of kick drums, bass guitar plucks, or higher-frequency bass sounds in both music and movies.
• Makes upper bass frequencies sound tighter and more controlled, where the RP-1600SW might sound a bit sluggish or smeared.
Result: The d110 can bring back the sense of speed and precision in higher bass frequencies, ensuring nothing is “missing.”
4. Blending with Your Mains
• Your Klipsch RF-7 III and RC-64 III are powerful full-range speakers, but they can only reproduce so much bass before the HPF directs it to your subs.
5. Smaller Driver, Higher Precision
• The d110 has a 10-inch driver, which is smaller than the 16-inch drivers in the RP-1600SW. This smaller driver has:
• Faster movement, better suited to handling higher bass frequencies without distortion.
6. Multi-Sub Optimization with miniDSP
• When you integrate the d110 with your existing subs via the miniDSP, you can:
• Assign specific frequency ranges to each subwoofer (e.g., let the d110 focus on 60-120 Hz while the RP-1600SWs handle
You didn’t post the link to sql & spl comparison.
oh damn, thanks for the reminder, I just added it.
do they deliver outside the US too?
typically no, you'll want to get with a freight forwarder if you're outside the country.
I found the bass from the PSA to have a harder leading edge and heavier tone overall.
@@danemoreno88 it's not uncommon, when stuffs good and the company is smaller it sells out quick, RSL subs sell out all the time, the 10E sold out within the first hour of launch :). Yeah I wish I could hear more PSA, seems like a great price but they don't send review samples and most of their subs are too big for me to review anyway, I try to only review products under 80 lbs :)
Rythmik is the sound I personally love so I wanted to experience their 18" model. Outside of a rare situation like that you are unlikely to see me revieweing subwoofers over 80lbs. Another issue is those big perlistens ship on a pallet, I cannot accomodate a pallet and hold the pallet for 60-90 days while I review it, and then re-palletize the subwoofer for return. It's just too much work brother, I don't make money doing this, this is not my job, I do the channel for fun and I have a full time career so I can't take on equipment that requires so much of me just for delivery and return. I hope you understand. I will review magnepan one day for sure.

I've watched this video like 7 times. I have a PB16 sitting in the garage, but after watching this video, 7 times, I'm second guessing myself. Grrrr thanks Nemo.
What do you guys think?
@@failingup4907 no shane lives on the other side of the country and doesn't have those anymore, I have a few local friends with wicked theaters :)
SB17-Ultra R|Evolution 2800 watts rms with DSP and phone app for $2500 , I am trying to decide between this sub , the Rythmik F18 and the Arendale 1723 2S but for some reason nobody has any numbers on the SVS????????? Why has SVS released a so called game changer sub with no numbers?????????
This review is for the F18, do you have any questions about the F18?
@@NemoPropaganda Well now that you asked , The F18 has been around for a long time now and the sevo technology is questionable. I am just trying to find the best performing sub for music around the $2500 mark and was all set on the F18 untill the SVS SB17 came out but there are no test or numbers to prove it,s performance. Can you please tell Rythmik to make more FVX12!!! They are currently showing back ordered till further notice!! 🎉
Also, do you know why they increased all of their prices quite a bit??
YES!!YES!!YES!! 18" CAN BE AUDIOPHILE!!!!
1000% agree!
Hey Mousec, I have two E15HP2s and considering trading them for two FVX15HP2s for a mixed system - how would you compare the two models?
Cool! I have that subwoofer. Actually, I have TWO of them in my stereo system. I do recommend it if you are a music lover. I got them during Spring time.
How does it compare to a rel s812?
488 and 720s felt like siblings making competing products
I was just curious how much of a trade off it is to run 2 of these vs 2 s812’s with a jtr.
Comparison to the G22? (and good luck with your surgery... good news - you are far too young not to rebound well!!!)
