I know this is an old video, but I noticed that you talked about having all those leftovers hanging around and then what did you do? 2:05 YOU LEFT GRAIN IN THE BAG, so you're still gonna have left overs!!! LOLOL DUMP IT ALL IN you nut! ROFL. Great video by the way. I'm just busting your stones (yes even from a 2016 video) And if I told you about all the mistakes I've made, you'd be on the floor laughing! Keep brewing friend! Cheers! 😀🍺
Brilliant video mate, 👍 explain everything well and humble which is rare to see. Keep up the good work. I’m just starting out brewing and your advice is great, nice ideas with the old metal kegs 👍👍 will have to get me some of those for sure. 😁👌
Nice video mate. Only thing I have always done differently is taking a hydro sample BEFORE pitching... Keep it up, I've been AG brewing for about 8 years and still making mistakes and learning more haha. See you on AHB
Beer Healer Mate, it doesn't matter how you're doing it, as long as you're having fun doing it. It looks like you doing pretty well mate. Keep putting up these great videos.!
Great video. I'm gonna subscribe to you.. If you're going to use the hop bag for your bittering hops you probably dont need to boil it. Its gonna get sterile in the boil
Mistakes are part of the process we all experience. I say if your catching what you did wrong then your on the right path. Start taking your gravity pre boil. This will help you adjust so you can hit your target. Preboil gravity Wort vol / goal vol. x preboil gravity = Final gravity target. Ex. 7 / 5 gals =1.4. 1.4 x 29 (1.029) =. 1.040.6). So if your preboil number was to low all you would have to do is boil a little longer. However if the offset is big remember to adjust hops if warrented. Also works using litres
Hey, Beer Healer! Great video. One question though. At the end when you transfer the liquid to the fermenter, you directly pour it in but would it oxidize the beer and kind of leave a weird taste? I have seen a few videos where they transfer it with a pipe down the fermenter in a circular fashion with a constant pressure. What do you think about it?
Splashing at this stage is AOK, however you do NOT want to Splash AFTER the Fermentation stage :) I too noticed the Pitching before OG (minor error already mentioned above). Blessings in 2019
Hydrating dry yeast is a waste of time if it is within the exp date. Just sprinkle on top of the wort and DON'T stir it. Let it hydrate on the surface and you won't have any problems.
@@Pingwinho someone's already done an experiment with this using us 05 he counted the cells and basically what he got was 92% of the whole pack was still viable well rehydrating it 98 we're still viable so really it's not that big of a loss
I don't think your an amatuer because you happen to make beer using a homemade rig as opposed to a professionally manufactured set-up. you are a brewer same as anyone else. good job. I started with a pot I got at Walmart and a kit from my LHBS.
Who cares if you make mistakes. They main thing is that you enjoy what you do. Just remember there are no mistakes in home brewing, we just have happy accidents 😂. Bob Ross would say the same about you painting.
