Perfect for those that love this popular dark and creamy beer, the Make Your Own Irish Stout Kit is sure to impress. Designed to help you create up to 40 individual 500ml bottles of dark-black Irish stout, this all-in-one refill kit is sure to go down a treat. With the average ABV of each drink being 5.2% and with tasting notes of bitter coffee, roasted malt, and a subtle fruitiness, this distinctively dark stout kit, with a lingering dry finish, will leave you with ready-to-drink beer in only 3 weeks. - Розваги
I've just picked up one of these kits from The Range on the way home from work. I can't wait to give it a try! Nice little diversion from the usual radio stuff. Cheers!
Totally. Just follow the instructions to the letter. I allowed a few extra days clearing in the bottles.
How did it taste 😳
@@nw4x4adventures I haven't started it yet, I'm awaiting for the rest of the equipment to arrive as I'm starting from scratch.
Made this last year, It was supposed to be ready for October but it was rank. Left if (forgot about it) and was taking out the Christmas decorations when I seen it at the back of the shed. Tried it and low and behold it was absolutely beautiful. I must have under carbonated it for the Pressure Barrel. Although it was perfect from the barrel I decided to keg it and used the Guinness /nitrogen gas on it. That just added the finishing touches to it. Just made up a new batch today 👍
The happiness of making your own beer is truly great.
This made me all thirtsy for a cold Guinness.
Couldn't agree more!
Thanks Fred you have inspired me to have a go at this.
That looks awesome Fred happy days.
Another great video. Genuinely makes me want to go out and try myself. Keep up the good work.
Yum!!!
Looks good.
Nice to see you doing more fermentation video's.
It's a great hobby. Like radio you can take it as far as you like. Replace the sugar with dried malt, add more hops etc. Quick tip, use brewing sugar not table sugar. There's a huge homebrewing YT community too and FB groups like Homebrewing with Kits UK
Great to see you brewing your own beer, Fred. I've been doing it for 20+ years now and love it. I make extract kits and all-grain beers - I'm no snob though, I'll drink 'em all.
Really good to see you had success on your first attempt. Beer kits are so much better these days and you can make almost any beer you fancy.
Cheers!
First kit ive tried since a teenager and iam very impressed. Iam very fussy about my Guinness and have been known to return pints in the pubs if they are rough but this beer is genuine excellent.
Superb Fred! That's a good head on that pint ! It's been a long time since I had a pint of Guinness! This is very encouraging!. Best 73
MYO,KITS ARE superb never made a bad one yet.
Cheers Fred!!!
Good for you mate.I brew all grain method and its sometimes tricky to brew a good irish stout. Happy that this worked for you.Its all about the hobby and enjoying what you produce. Greetings from the land of tulips...
Thanks 👍
Brilliant i def going to have a go cheers.
Looks tasty !
We need a new channel now!
"Fred's brew in the shed"
Where you just brew different beers an wines and at the end of each video, you just get totally spannered.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I'm in.
Here's the thumb! 👍
:-) :-) :-) :-) :-)
Well done
Just finishing my batch of this, added another bag of sugar so its like turbo Guinness! Great stuff! 50p a pint?! Cant go wrong!🍻
Sounds great!
I picked up an American ipa kit from the range but that stout definitely looks worth a go, well done that man it turned out good.
What a nice batch you got there Fred! Enjoyed the vid 😄
Glad you enjoyed it
I’m so glad I came across your video. I’m half way through brewing this. I read the instructions wrong though, I assumed it was 10 days fermentation in total (7 days, add hops and then 3 further days) but I now see it’s 10 days after hops. So glad I am not about to ruin the whole thing by bottling a week early. Looks like a really nice end product, I’m looking forward to the first one.
Hi. Ive made a few of these brews now (doing one right now for christmas) and ive found that if you give it a few extra days in barrel it improves the flavour.
Guinness ? I hope you do deliveries ! Great Video Mr Fred ..
That's a lovely looking Guinness Fred. I enjoy this stout and now you got me thinking about trying out this brew kit. I hope I can find it local or be able to order online. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Andy. The only place i could find this kit was The Range in the UK. I looked on Amazon etc. Iam sure there are other kits out there though. Stay Safe bud.
Damn, that looks bloody lovely Fred ! I got way to many hobbies, but I love your videos. Damn i got a thirst on.
Just had an ice cold one with lunch. Lovely :-)
@@CB-RADIO-UK you swine and heres me pushing 18 meter antennas up stuck on Lucozdae !!! cheers tho matey, and good health!
A nice cold Schooner of VB, Tooheys or Fosters any day thank you!
I'm actually homebrewing a Coopers today.
I love Guinness ! :D
Love Guinness and a curry
I gave up home brew years ago. At one time there was a Home Brew shop on every corner.
Hello fred looks nice your stout try making it with brown sugar wait till you taste that its so nice
Thanks for the tip
Thanks Fred Thanks but I'm afraid they are out of stock I guess I'll have to wait
Ps it looks like there's nothing else out there to compare to it I must say it looks fantastic can't wait to try one thanks again
I went through a stage of liking the Guins until I realised that the brown stuff became the black stuff under it's influence lol. Quite happy to try most of your advice Fred - just bought an as new Yaesu 450D ! - but excuse me if I pass on this one :-) .
I like it I taste it is so good
Same here. Its more like orig Guinness. Iam currently making my 3rd batch.
Nice one Fred.....in my younger day I had exploding bottles all over the house.......best wishes mate....Bob
Cheers Bob
I like gniuuss just u nice video mate
I tried a bottle of mine 2 weeks after bottling, looked good, nice head but didn't taste very nice. I'm hoping I tried it too soon and the taste will improve over the next few weeks
Hopefully. Ive found the taste tends to stay the same but leaving it longer improves the gas in the beer. I only cocked up one barrel when i did not rinse out all the sterile.
Very uplifting makes we want to buy Guinness Can’t make her sour temp too high wouldn’t know where to find a cool place here
Yes that might be a prob over there. Really needs a dark cool place to clear. Least you have Norfolk caught fish and chips :-)
FRED GETTING A BUSS
Solomon grundy stuff is bloody good give em a try
MMMMM..marmite beer.....might be a new thing fred...lol. top tip when pouring has to be in one go dont tilt back causes the dead yeast to mix decant into another vessel holding up to the light watch for the yeast moving. well done mate.
Hi. Yes good tip on the pouring. It does say that in the instructions so i normally have 2 glasses handy. Cheers.
Make Your Own Irish Stout Kit FROME THE RANGE £14.99 ASFROM THE 18/09/2022
Hi, on the instructions it says add dextrose sugar. Did you use ordinary sugar? Thanks
I used plain white sugar. You can use brown sugar.
Can you please share what is name of glass you are using?
Looks really cool - is it some kind of tulip, goblet - I do not see anything like this in out coutry.
I want to search on the web, maybe it has some special name so I can narrow the query and find it.
Great video btw.
To be totally honest with you its a San Miguel glass that i borrowed from a pub a few years back :-)
nice one i love my guiness what was the final strength and did you get any sediment in your bottles?
It settles at around 4.5 to 5%. Yes you get a little sediment so its best to pour in one go or leave about 10 ml in the bottom of the bottle.
@@CB-RADIO-UK im wondering if i could use a pressure barrel i still have 2 that i used to use years ago
Made vid alot more simply and straight forward the experienced brewers channels.
Looked lovely drop.
I was thinking of doing a larger kit, but many vids and comments heard is its quite difficult to get right so I'm now thinking stout. You've sealed it for me.
What % do you reckon it was?
It starts out around 5% but it gets stronger as the weeks go by. I found a bottle a while back which i had forgotten and i recon it was close to 7%
Hi. Did you need to keep it above 20 degrees centigrade while fermenting?
It does help if you can. It takes longer in the winter months with a temp around 17 degs c indoors.
Whats good to sterslize? Would milton do. Thanks for posting this vid am going to give it a try in a month or so
Could I make this and instead of putting it in bottles put it into a pub keg and pump it thru my home bar using 70-30 mixed gas? Thanks
In theory i guess you can.
@@CB-RADIO-UK I wouldn't want the fiz so would I just not put more sugar in when I keg it?
Fred, if you enjoyed brewing your own, check out the Pinter 👍 good piece of kit
I'll check it out!
@@CB-RADIO-UK If you are looking for more home brew beer kits Wilko do some too. But you can’t go wrong with the Pinter 🍺 great video mate
Marmite is a by product from brewing, with added salt
Vaseline is a by product of petrol production, also
Hi, did you take OG and FG readings and if so can you remember what they were? I didn't have an Hydrometer to test my wort for OG but I have one ready to take the FG reading. If you can remember your og reading I can work the alcohol content out from that. Regards
No i did not. Really hard to work out even SG in beer. I notice that the alcohol content increases the longer you leave it.
@@CB-RADIO-UK ok, no problem, thank you.
Hi there mate I live in Republic of Ireland would you know anywhere I could buy it
Ps I found someone on line UK but no option to purchase can you please help cheers
Only place i know for this kit is The Range. Not seen it elsewhere.
They have it at the range in maynooth, or at least they did 6 month ago when I worked at Intel.
At least it worked out cheaper than €10 a pint in Dublin.
10 euro a pint ! Jeez
@@CB-RADIO-UK No .Between 5 euro and 6 euro in most places but up to 7 euro in the Tourist trap of the Temple Bar area in central Dublin .
Ah don't be giving me ideas. Our pubs will be shut until at least May
Are a new beer " Fred's sump oil " i think your on to a winner mate rob n.s.w.
10W40 brew :-)
Hey Fred, do you think I could I put the beer in wine bottles? I'll be buying this kit next week. I can't wait to try it!
Hi MF. I have tried wine bottles but the beer stayed flat as the screw caps did not seal. Corks might blow out. Cheapest option i found was plain sparkling water as the caps re seal. Tesco were doing it for about 25p a bottle at one stage. Enjoy.
@@CB-RADIO-UK that sounds like a much better option. Trip to Tesco it is! Thank you
Didnt tilt your glass fred tut tut lol
Yeah i know. I really thought it would pour flat. Really impressed with the creamy head.
@@CB-RADIO-UK yeah I was after I posted the comment wish Guinness was like that, quite enjoying theys homebrew videos
I did one years ago in the stack bag style beer taste nasty it's kinda put me off doing homebrew
Here in the Netherlands i have to pay more than 2.- Euro for 1 500ml Can.
40 X 500ml for 15.- sounds much better :XD hell yeah ^^
Oh Yeah !
Fred has legs as well as hands lol :-D
it’s good to keep the throat well oiled with all that talking on the airwaves 👍
Only thing missing is fish and chips with dark vinegar, ow ya and people..
Cue Fred Trolls: "Fred these videos about brewing your own Guinness is KILLING the Guinness industry!! Delete this video AT ONCE. Ain't that right Dave?"
Kill the Guinness industry 🤣🤣🤣
Was it fizzy
Erm not like larger but you would not expect that. It was pretty much the same as a normal guinness.
@@CB-RADIO-UK thanks for a very quick reply lol Iv made some coopers Irish stout and tasted it today. very nice but fizzy , probably error on my end ! It’s all trail and error I guess 😂 . I have this brand fermenting as we speak , I was just wondering the end product . Again thanks for your time 👍🏴
Great vid by the way 👌👍
Thanks for asking the hard hitting Qs. Going to go with this brand. Hopefully they deliver their Irish stout to Ireland 😂
Hope ya Got Plenty of Bog Roll at the Ready lol are you going on a diet fred ?
:-)
I was just about to run out the door to pick one up until you said Guinness Original!! 😳😖 that stuff is horrid! Does it not taste like draught Guinness then? 😩
No not really. You need the nitrogen to get the real creamy taste.
@@CB-RADIO-UK oh right, still gonna give it a go🫡🍺🍺🍺
