HOW TO: 5TH GEN RAM 2019-2022 FUEL FILTER CHANGE FOR 6.7 CUMMINS DIESEL | FRONT AND REAR FILTERS

STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTION ON CHANGING FRONT AND REAR FUEL FILTERS. MINE IS A 2020 RAM 2500 6.7L CUMMINS DIESEL.

Another thing, if the truck has been cooking in the hot summer sun, after the customer drove almost a 100 miles to the dealership for service, there may be pressure in the fuel tank/s due heat expansion. Meaning, you'll want to vent the fuel system before you open the drain valve for the rear fuel filter.

Brother, I've that 'service' is so expensive at the Dodge store is because FCA(Fiat Chrysler Automobiles) has adapted their own proprietary fuel filters for the Ram Cummins.
This engine is way more serviceable in most every other application it's used in. From the Freightliner's M2, International's 4600, not to mention John Deere, and Caterpillar.

also, you gotta keep that whole area spotless with something like 409 or simple green and new, fresh microfiber towels before you start....a speck of dust 1/30th the diameter of a human hair will/can take out your cp3/4 pump and/or a fuel injector (or all of them)......clean the whole area fully before you even begin....and make sure your gloves are spotless when handling the new filters....ask me how I know....ahem

I know it's recommended that i change both filters. But im curious. Would it hurt to change just the front filter only?

@@codyleavitt475 Ive heard to change the rear one first, then run it a while to clear any debris, then change the front one out and you will have a spic and span fuel system .....

I know many owners that do the REAR every 15k and the REAR & FRONT every 30k since most things are filtered in the rear... no one seams to have issues
