Love your “ brutal” honesty when you review vehicles. Keep up the good work my friend.
    Cheers 👍🏼

Seriously love the panoramic sun roof in the center and a seperate moonroof in the front. Also love the nappa leather seats with heated/ventilated 1st and 2nd row seats. Seats 8 people! This vehicle has so much value for the price.
I have seen a total of 18 Tellurides out on the road this past week. I drive OTR. I been seeing these vehicles throughout Texas, Arkansas, and Mississippi. Comes to show how practical and popular this vehicle is. It's an epidemic!

I love your honesty and absolutely agree with your sentiment.
It really comes down to the audience. I live in the Pacific NW. Our roads suck due to studded snow tires and weather and funding. Really this is a much nicer option where you get the more robust tires and wheels instead of these over sized noisy and rough crap in this environment and you get to keep the luxury amenities. As an added bonus when the weather turns to garbage or you do end up in snow and ice or an occasional washout or rough road you have something that will get you where you need. Thanks

What other brand non truck would you recommend? Especially when it comes to towing? Interested in others to consider. Thanks!!

I like the off road "look". If I lived in an area that I could go off road, I would go for a true off road vehicle. With that said, I live in a flood prone area in South Florida and drive a 2WD Jeep Grand Cherokee which has saved me from stalling in deep water more times than I can count. Sure it's only 2wd, it did the job. I don't think I would get a car based crossover SUV because, even though they ride higher than cars, they're engines seem to sit lower (which also lowers their center of gravity for a more carlike ride). During our last big flood event, alot of these crossovers had to be towed.

With european Skoda brand you can have Scout trim for most of SUV and estate models where you get adjusted ride height and some allroad features including appearance package which all together costs about $5-6k extra over regular version of a car.
With estate cars If you don't want pay for full Scout trim but still need allroad capabilities you chose much cheaper "package for bad roads" getting only higher "Scout suspenssion and belly under-protection pannels"
...Skoda has slogan "Simply clever" for a reason....I have no doubts american drivers would welcome US manufacturers adopt such clever approach...

I think you are more than fair. Nice luxury stuff, but not a true off road vehicle.

All of these “off-road” trim packages…with the possible exception of the Wilderness trims on Subarus are strictly about appearance. Does anybody really think anyone actually plans to take any of these off-road?

I think we need to distinguish between off-road and rough Road vehicles. From the looks of the Honda pilot, Trail, sport, for example, it seems to have a better capability for truly rough roads because you get an extra inch of ground clearance, you get skid plates, and you get a suspension tuned for rough-road unlike the Telluride. You also get more driving modes. I actually think there are a lot of people that want to go on rough roads. Think of all the people who, before children, or grandchildren, perhaps, like me, are used to off-roading in vehicles, like a Toyota 4Runner or Range Rover to get to campsites or trailhead or lakes in the backcountry. So these 3-row SUVs like the Telluride and Honda Pilot that are capable with the incredibly improved all wheel drive systems of handling rough roads are a compromise, allowing you to take along more family members or friends to go places with some measure of confidence you would not have in a normal trim SUV.
