    Thank you for reviewing the 4.6" model. If I am going to get a gun with a heavy-hitting caliber and a full-sized grip, I don't care about saving a half inch on the barrel. I want all that barrel length.

    My goodness, what a refreshing channel.
    Coming from a high volume shooter who has watched most if not all UA-cam gun channels, your speech, style and composure are awesome.
    I'm really getting tired of the bearded, tattooed, former special forces who need you to carry 12 ARs to feel prepped.
    Keep it going sir, your wisdom is 👍.

    Great review! This was one of the best ones I’ve seen on the M&P 10mm. I looked at one at the gun shop and it felt good in the hands. I hope it is still there, I believe I may just have to buy it.

      Do it!!!
      I bought one last weekend, 4.6" barrel, no thumb safety and it shoots beautifully and comfortably.
      I have a Glock 20 and the M&P 2.0 10mm is hands down a better handgun in all ways. Only problem I had is from the slide release. I hold high on the slide with my left hand and the extended slide release cut my hand, no big deal, I adjusted my grip.
      I'm an M&P fan and shooter and I own several in the 9mm, I think the 10mm is the best M&P S&W has made.

    It was good timing as Springfield discontinued their 10s. I’m running a G40 and couldn’t be happier in the woods.
    The biggest issue is ammo velocities. You got decent with that federal but loads like the hydrashock are only getting 900s. Anything in a 180 should be right at 1200. I’m sticking with Underwood and the others.

    I have one with the 4inch barrel. Like it so far.only 50rounds thru it. Here in Arizona 10mm is popular. If you want one,as soon as you see it,buy it.

    • @slypperyfox
      @slypperyfox 2 роки тому

      I believe 10mm is popular everywhere . . .well, except those states where the blue fog in the air is too thick to see through. And, man, all the Harold Fish stories that came out of Arizona where Mr Fish became the first American found guilty of manslaughter for using a 10mm round for self defense. Any other handgun caliber and it was clean cut self self defense but with 10mm at the time it was considered “overkill” in Arizona. Anyway, here in Georgia, 10mm is popular and that popularity continues to grow. Ammo is easier to find than the guns that shoot it so, if you see a 10mm gun on the shelf, claim it first if for nothing more than a quickie fondling session. It can always be put back on the shelf. If you turn your back just for a second, it might be gone when you look at the display again.

    The 10mm really needs a tough jacketed bullet for dangerous game that prioritizes penetration over expansion. Some examples could be 10mm 200 grain bullet designs from: Speer in a deep curl, Hornady in a XTP Mag, or Sierra Jacketed Soft Point. Not interested in meeting FBI bullet expansion/penetration protocols as they don't mean crap against charging bears!

      Tam, mine has the typical striker trigger. But install an Apex or other after-market one and you’ll be amazed. Also, they all tend to shoot in. Before you toss it on the firewood pile, give it a chance and learn how to shoot that trigger for a while. Roy

    Been watching these choke up with nose ups and mag seating issues,may just be some lemons,they are late on bandwagon with this ,safety is enough to remove it from my liking. Time will tell, I would think those might shoot 3 inch groups rested at 25 yds.

      @@D-A-1776 Nice! I ended up getting the Springfield as well and I enjoy it. I took the Mag release off and it fits my hand so much better now. I was waiting for the S&W 10mm but it was sold out everywhere and finding the glock I wanted in 10mm was hard too. The XDM Elite was available at my local shop but I passed on it 3 months ago. It finally came back around but I didn't make the mistake of not buying it this time. Enjoying the purchase thus far. Took it to the range about 3xs now, zero jams and shoots surprisingly light as the recoil isn't bad at all. Great gun!!!

    S&W support out right told me you can not use underwood ammo in this gun. You can use ammo running at 40 cal numbers fine. But full 10mm loads and this thing is not reliable. Get a RIA 1911 or a Glock if you want to depend on a gun for your life with 10mm. First and last S&W for me.

      Never heard of any problems and they are rated at full 10mm pressures. My test gun had no issues. I’m always leary of the “support” call people as they are just call-takers and are often wrong. Roy

    I'm curious about your "peep" sight on your glasses. Was that something you got from your eye doc or from sporting goods source. Since this is at least the second time I have seen you use it I assume it is really helpful to use. Can you provide some info about it for another old fart who likes to shoot handguns?

    Most 10 mm ammo is NO STRONGER than .40. Do your own testing.

      @fmgpubs  2 роки тому

      I have, tested, Music Man. In a previous video on the S&W 10mm I chronographed a bunch of loads in the video. Some were definitely at the lower end of the spectrum but still significant, and some were in the 1200 or better range, certainly better than any .40 with a 180 bullet. But like most things, one does need to do their research. Here's a link to that vid. Chrono work starts around 6:15. ua-cam.com/video/5MIOwcsgjYQ/v-deo.html. Roy H.

    There really seems to be an inordinate amount of failures and problems with the Smith and Wesson M&P 10MM. The guns hit the marketplace and after purchase, the user usually has to
    keep his fingers crossed in hopes that the particular firearm he purchased will perform to it's "life-saving standards". In yours and others magazines these weapons are immediately touted
    as new wonder pistols yet we the public seem to be stuck in the mire once we make a purchase and its a lemon. How about some help for us out here....you have the inside track to this
    and other manufacturers and they should be a thousand times more aware of their quality control.............HELP!!!!

      We’ve had a couple come through out hands here and so far there haven’t been any issues. What sorts of problems are you hearing about? In my experience, many “problems” are centered around people using poor ammo, incorrect shooting methods (stance, grip, etc.) and a failure to clean and lube correctly. Roy
