I have a lot of Richard Robbins soundtracks and this one is the most varied and lush and musically beautiful and gives the film and the class and also beauty
@@breif1020 I'm not sure if it was in the film, but in the book, Durham did mention he was looking for the sheets of Pathetique!! This must be the song he played for Featheringstonehaugh and Maurice on the piano
@@breif1020 Actually, I think we are both wrong (and right). After carefully listening to the Karajan recording I realised that nowhere does the Maurice version actually appear in the symphony. Until 0:40 we are listening to a part of the second movement with a slight variation at the end which then transitions into the first movement (specifically this part: ua-cam.com/video/-qgo1KFj0do/v-deo.html ). edit: time stamp correction
@@breif1020 And did you notice that past the 0:40 mark the part of the the first movement which I linked you to is being played, which is not played in the second? Did you notice the transition before 0:40 where the pianola transitions to an orchestra which plays an alternative ending- not by tschaikovsky? In the Film this pianola is depicted, I know, however it is the orchestra which makes the alternative ending.
THIS NEEDS TO B PUT ON SPOTIFYYY

Wow
Anyone know where I can find the sheet music? :)
On imslp you’ll likely find it. This is an excerpt from Tchaikovsky’s ‘Pathetique’ (second movement).
