I have been in aesthetics for 20 years, a clinical trainer for 13yrs, attended numerous workshops, conferences both in Australia and internationally and you are the best educator I have come across. Your ethics, depth of knowledge and way of explaining to others is amazing, thank you.
Kerry, this is the most wonderful comment, thank you SO much. I've showed Tim and he's very grateful too. I'm so incredibly glad Tim's content resonates and helps. Thank you again 🙏
The balloons and scaffolding really made the case for "why dermal fillers work"; replace volume and lift accompanies. Also high praise for recognizing/verbalizing that appearance is a social tool; a survival tool.
TIM! I WORK IN AESTHETICS AND I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS! THANK YOU FOR TEACHING ME TO SEE MY PROFESSION FROM A MUCH MORE INTEGRAL PERSPECTIVE. I AM A FAN OF YOU. GREETINGS FROM COLOMBIA
I'm in Colombia, too. An expat living outside of Santa Marta who has benefited from injections and "Hilos" from a very good dermatologist in Santa Marta, Dr. Paola Perez. Where are you?
You two have shown me more about facial structures and modification techniques via injection that anyone, anywhere web and IRL. Good on the both of you for making the complex subject of facial appearance easy to understand.
You are the most amazing educator in the world for aesthetics HANDS DOWN. Thank you for your proving this education to us. So eternally grateful for you and Mrs. Pierce!
Miranda Pearce wouldn't filler also increase the sagging over time? I understand most are temporary but yet while inside the fillers stretch the skin etc
Thank you so much Yvonne. I've passed on your feedback to Tim. In fact, this episode has been so well received that he's going to do more of these analogies. Thanks again
Thank you excellent as always as a clinical academic educator I really notice teaching styles yours is my favourite in the aesthetics world .. humility, authentic, approachable and expert knowledge. Not many have this!! Love the question what’s the function of the face 👏
I love your explanations. Always clear and so easy to understand. And I love your approach on ageing. Oh and by the way, the fact that face appearance is a social skill is not philosophical at all. It comes from our lizard brain and the need to recognise friend or foe, genetic suitability for mating and health status. Today this is rooted in the same principles and applied to social interactions. But that is your natural elegance to say it :) Thank you for sharing your knowledge. Have a lovely Xmas both of you :)
@@mirandapearcemindset That is the best part!!! and the way to make patients as happy as possible. And neuropsychology approach is incredible as well. The facial feedback, micro expressions, Duchene and all the background of the use of neuromodulators for mood and depression...
Terrifying and fascinating in equal measure! I have so many questions but I'll try to be brief. In relation to maintaining fat pads (apart from stable weight) is there any way of keeping them full? Would stimulating the muscle with maybe a Caci machine be a better treatment for fullness than RF or Hifu which according to horror stories can melt fat pads? Would you be kind enough to move in with me for a week? You can bring the missus :))
Hey Adam. Thanks for this. Tim's been inspired to do more of these analogies due to the feedback, and the fact that he loves playing 😀 Have a great week, M
Your videos are so educational and finally fillers make sense to me. And if it does to be, I can explain it to my patients! So lucky I stumbled upon your series of videos
Thank you so much Dr Pearce for amazing explanation. I would like to ask how deep shall l do injections to make ligaments stronger. Some of the skin boosters work really good but lm not sure about the depth of insertion and angle. Thank you!
Hi Maro. Tim uses the Juvederm Vycross range. He uses Voluma in the cheeks. He has found over the years that it does not migrate as much as other fillers.
Very well explained content 🌞🙂 How about reversing naturally those ageing effects ?! Diet (nutrient super rich low calories + balanced fats + high enough protein), facial and body excercises (inversions, face expressions etc.). I know one can reverse much of that even when older but I would suspect you may know much more ... Also, how and what much stress and emotions and organs are represented on the face appearance 🙂 ?! Thx
Absolutely diet and and exercise has a huge part to play in our ageing process and how it can affect our skin and ageing process but sometimes even with the perfect diet and exercise, gravity still has its part to play. Kind regards Mary. Clinical advisor for Dr Tim.
@@DrTimPearce Of course, I mean copying the structure of nature to make a robot using artificial materials, like for a Boston dynamics robot. Always people try to build muscle to beat aging, however its Tendons, ligaments and cartilage that we cant seem to build back. First build the robots, we might even be able to augment humans. Imagine having an artificial replacement for a ligament or cartilage. With 3D printing we can now print odd structures like bones. We could make complex artificial joints, maybe even make an artificial scaffolding for the aging face support the real Tendons and ligaments. Paww its science, right ?
Oh, interesting... I have watched many plastics surgeons on here. Now I found the teacher of surgeons. Why do fat pad decrease in the first place? When you do fat transfer to the face, the fat will survive in the place where fat has died before. So it's not due to decrepit blood supply etc. So why does it happen? Why have deflation? It must be a reason special to destroying facial fat and make appearance worse. Seems like genetic program to make you ugly - maybe to tell sex partners you are old and not suited for partnership? What do you think doctor yes no maybe?

Can vertical injections of filler help retaining ligaments to "stay up"? Thank you for your fantastic video
This is one of my favourites 🙌🏻...I love your analogies Tim 🤓...thanks both 🧡
Great analogy with the balloons. Very clever. Thank you.
Thank you so much Jacinta, I've shared your comment with Tim. They'll be more where that came from :-)

Beautifully explained ❤️

Dr•tim a lot thx from Turkey…
Superb 🎉
What about toning the muscles in one's face such as face yoga?
I think it could make an impact in some cases, of course, you may not want to exercise the muscles which pull down!
Where can I get your visual prop… I love to get it one for my clinic.

Wonder what your views are on mewing.
So if the fat pads move. Does the filler move or migrate downwards also. ? Which filler is best.for this.

Please don’t expect to “fix” aging issues with fillers. There is much more going on underneath at the sub smas level
If you said fat that make muscle and skin look tight...Why abs without fat looking tight..abs has no bone either..
Can you build robots using ligaments or tendons ?
Probably, but it's probably easier to use inorganic materials 😄

The philosophical reason is biologically sound - a youthful, healthy appearance is a sign of fertility (which promotes kin & partner investment)
