The new UK CAA exams are really challenging, even the instructors do not know what they are on about. I only know a few people in the whole school who have managed to pass every exam first time by the end. I believe the head of my training organisation will be speaking with the CAA soon to discuss how unfairly difficult and ambiguous they have become so drastically. Instructors cannot prepare us adequately and there are little bank questions so far. I’m guessing airlines will have to adjust their criteria as having a few fails seems to be the new normal. Anyone taking these new exams I warn you to please prepare enough as they are catching out even the brightest of us.
This is a great system being implemented. The older outdated system to grade the exams was quite biased.. and it was more of a rote learning way to study for them..
Excellent . This system should have been implemented well before . This new system would filter out those so called 'Pilots" which we see in our flying clubs/Airlines who have been getting away by cramming or by finding shortcuts. They should also check academic know how of the person before joining Aviation.
UK has a very busy airspace. It is one of the most difficult to navigate. So I presume, you will have more emphasis on all aspects of Navigation, flight planning, communication, and meteorology. Culture is an issue in Pakistan, so possibly cockpit resources, management, air law, and procedures are the subject to re-visit
