    Track mode customization ? What options did you change for Track mode or did you use default ? Hahaha I asked this question before the @4min mark where you explain this explicitly - Thanks kindly. I'm going to put 15/85 handling, -10 stability, and 100% regen setting in my own Model 3 Performance right now and I'll label it "DKT Autocross" setting (for Drew, Kyle, Tijmen) And congrats on winning your class !

    So what about a 70/30 or 72/25 with less oversteer? Have you played around with these setups?

    Awesome that you're doing an overview of this! Of course I think many would love to hear more on specifics of the best autocross specific tire/wheel size combinations. Staggered or square setup for AWD? Maximum width combination up front without rubbing? Can you "over tire" the stock Tesla suspension? Will the car accelerate quicker if you decrease the overall height of the wheel/tire combo, effectively changing the gear ratio? Thanks again!

      I have used Hoosier r7 on stock suspension and nankang ar1(100tw) and it works great. You can however overload the brakes with sticky tires (and stock even)

    Can you go into more detail on the regenerative % setting? I'm not understanding how or why that would have any effect.

    I was hoping to get driving advice. I don't have the performance but classified as if I did making it harder competitive wise.
    My experience Autocrossing a Tesla model 3 AWD in comparison to an ICE, is that with and ICE you talk about carrying the energy through corners etc, but with the massive torque and weight of a Tesla model 3 it is more full speed to the corner - break hard - corner and floor it again. That is the experience I have to go as fast as possible. Any other strategies/tactics/techniques?

    I’d love to see how a standard plus car would do comparatively!

      I've got a a good track video of racing my buddies standard plus on mpp coilover and nankang ar1 against a c6 zo6. It's not as fast as the performance but wow it drives incredibly on road course

    The rest of youtube comments: Teslas can't turn they're only good for 0-60 and are built like garbage, they don't make sounds and I would rather drive a chevy travesty.

    It's worth noting that having the handling balance so far to the rear means you lose some horsepower that the front motor would normally be providing! Obviously if you're getting that time back in handling then it's worth it, but it's a trade-off. :)

    • @JackMott

      The car only has that split when turning

    • @VoxelLoop
      @VoxelLoop 3 роки тому

      @@JackMott With track mode if you set the handling balance far to the rear it's the same in a straight line. I commonly use track mode in the snow to set the handling balance to 50/50 or slightly to the front. By default with track mode off it's maybe 60% rear, the car fish-tails far too easily in a straight line without this change. :)

    • @JackMott
      @JackMott 3 роки тому +2

      @@VoxelLoop So I had only heard 2nd hand that the handling balance only applied while turning, so out of respect for empiricism I tired it just now and the car accelerates the same set to 100% as it does 50/50

    • @VoxelLoop

      @@JackMott Interesting! I know the ESP 'kind of' overrides the handling balance? But I'm not sure to what degree exactly.
      For example, it'll still use the front motor slightly even when set to 100% rear.
      I totally agree that there's something about cornering which changes the balance though!
      In a straight line, setting to 100% front balance causes a very slow launch, so it does do 'something' in a straight line still.
