This video brings back GREAT memories of when I started with a rotary buffer in 1998. I wish I would been able to watch it back then.... Seems about from that era - mid to late 90's.

It’s amazing to me that a megs video from what seems to be the 90’s is still a better teacher than most of these so called UA-cam pros lol

Pretty funny... like one of those drivers ed videos they showed in HS where Trooper Bob is saying, "If only Johnny was wearing a seat-belt, he would not have a telephone pole inserted where no pole should ever go"...

What type of backing plate does this video use? I have not seen this for sale so I assume it is an older plate or a plate not available in the United States? It looks like a really nice backing plate with the foam interface and perfect size for larger foam pads such as 8" or 9" pads.

I have never been good at waxing or buffing. I learned this weekend even after I have aged and gained more patience i still struggle. By the time I have a light film its like gum. Only way I can get any kind of a shine with less residue is put compound or polish down, run over it for less than 10 seconds and hurry up and wipe it off

Okay guys, yes, I get all your points on here, but for first timer like me I found the
info very, very useful...but agree to much MEGUIAR hacking! :) I now feel more confortable tackling my truck finish with my own products & machine.

I just used the entire voice over as my "training day" routine. Repeating, word for word, the copy but putting my own spin on certain parts. Might just do it an upload for comparison. More friendly read, but hey, this guy did a good job of explaining and I learned a thing or two or three about McGuire Products in the process of doing a warmup of some 40 plus minutes without a break. I'm sure he took breaks, but this is like boot camp for an aspiring VO talent like me. Sire743 is my channel if interested. Cheers! Great fun, just like Mike Rowe does in reads. A rare talent, indeed.

Get a good foam cutting\finishing pad and get some 105\205 for the DA. Cut deep scratches with 105, hit the light ones and polish with 205. Add some wax and you're good to go.

very good video meguairs makes the best compounds, but Pinnacle, Dodo Juice, and Wolfgang get best waxes. The best polishes no doubt are Menzerna Polishing Compounds this stuff is scary good. They use it in the Benz, and Bmw factories for wet sanding the paint after it has been baked. I do know what I am talking about all the brands listed are above and beyond good there great.
