This video brings back GREAT memories of when I started with a rotary buffer in 1998. I wish I would been able to watch it back then.... Seems about from that era - mid to late 90's.
Pretty funny... like one of those drivers ed videos they showed in HS where Trooper Bob is saying, "If only Johnny was wearing a seat-belt, he would not have a telephone pole inserted where no pole should ever go"...
What type of backing plate does this video use? I have not seen this for sale so I assume it is an older plate or a plate not available in the United States? It looks like a really nice backing plate with the foam interface and perfect size for larger foam pads such as 8" or 9" pads.
little tip, i learned how to sand and use a rotary buffer on an old body panel i picked up for free at a junk yard. if you're new to these products and techniques, do this! it can really save you
I have never been good at waxing or buffing. I learned this weekend even after I have aged and gained more patience i still struggle. By the time I have a light film its like gum. Only way I can get any kind of a shine with less residue is put compound or polish down, run over it for less than 10 seconds and hurry up and wipe it off
Okay guys, yes, I get all your points on here, but for first timer like me I found the info very, very useful...but agree to much MEGUIAR hacking! :) I now feel more confortable tackling my truck finish with my own products & machine.
I just used the entire voice over as my "training day" routine. Repeating, word for word, the copy but putting my own spin on certain parts. Might just do it an upload for comparison. More friendly read, but hey, this guy did a good job of explaining and I learned a thing or two or three about McGuire Products in the process of doing a warmup of some 40 plus minutes without a break. I'm sure he took breaks, but this is like boot camp for an aspiring VO talent like me. Sire743 is my channel if interested. Cheers! Great fun, just like Mike Rowe does in reads. A rare talent, indeed.
I used Meguiar's Mirror Glaze 7 a few days ago with amazing results. How often should I use it on my car. Secondly can I chop and change with other Meguiar's products in between washes
Get a good foam cutting\finishing pad and get some 105\205 for the DA. Cut deep scratches with 105, hit the light ones and polish with 205. Add some wax and you're good to go.
The video was interesting. However, not sure about everyone else. but I've become spoiled with video quality. Meguiar's should update their video to HD. Would make it more appealing, for me anyway.
Very instructive and informative video and it has identified a few places where I'm going wrong, but must they make the guy doing it have such an irritatingly smug grin?
Not really, eventually will eat through the clear.Keep it lubricated with compound and always follow up with polish then wax on a foam pad.check out Professional Detailing Tips on Amazon.com.it is really a good E-book.it is by John Hurd.
very good video meguairs makes the best compounds, but Pinnacle, Dodo Juice, and Wolfgang get best waxes. The best polishes no doubt are Menzerna Polishing Compounds this stuff is scary good. They use it in the Benz, and Bmw factories for wet sanding the paint after it has been baked. I do know what I am talking about all the brands listed are above and beyond good there great.
+Pickled Onion You need the patented Meguiar's Professional Browser Cleaner Solution. Be careful not to use it without the Meguiar's DA W260A Keyboard Cloth & Mouse Agent.
At around 22:45, I'm like "nooo, someone stop him, he's destroying the paint! :'( " But in all seriousness, videos like this have been quite useful since I'll soon be doing a serious amount of buffing on my car. It's nice to go into it with a decent idea of how to do it properly. :)
The clear get's thinner. Not the paint.Clear is on top of the paint to protect it.CHECK OUT THIS BOOK CALLED PROFESSIONAL DETAILING TIPS BY JOHN HURD ON AMAZON.COM. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
Rotary’s are useless in 2022 I only use RUPES forced action no need to possibly burn paint or edges when you can use a machine that won’t do that at all no matter how long you leave it on the paint and it cuts just as good if not better
Love this old school training video. Its very educational
It feels like I just landed a job and have to watch this before I actually get to work hands on. lol
Let's setup a bodyshop and get some cars restored and polished. I wanna change my job and work on cars instead.
IamAnoobiecheez yeah because being a deliver driver is getting boring lol
kano b Same here I don't want to work at a warehouse... >.
Seriously.
@Casper Gomez Same here!

Stop complaining, this is a great video for beginners. Yes they are promoting a lot but it is what it is!
It’s amazing to me that a megs video from what seems to be the 90’s is still a better teacher than most of these so called UA-cam pros lol

Thank you so much, this is an extremely helpful video!!!! Meguiars products are hands down the best on the market!! I use them on guitar finishes.
Thank you so much for the training video. The products are fantastic.
Thanks for all the info👍🏻 I’ve not run a rotary in about 30 years and am excited to try this new technology out😉

Was everyone sure to watch this on their Meguiars number 72 smartphone with Meguiar's number 874 browser?

What is the best line of products: Meguiars or Malco Product? In professional use
Will using a DA (Dual Action) machine vs. a rotary machine give the same results when using these techniques?

Why does the mirror glaze products here have different numbers then the mirror glaze products of today with the same names?
Good video
Wow, is that a younger Mike Phillips washing cars at 6:45 to 7:30 mark?
😅😅😅😅
Do you recommend using a clay bar to clean the surface before a simple wax job?
Yes!
With a rotary, do you cross the passage vertically and horizontally as with a double action? Thanks
how often one can remove scratches with the compound, because as we know the paint gets thiner.I mean every 2 or 3 years is it O.K?
Do you recommend using the glaze 7 on glass?
Thanks for the tip. That was driving me nuts.
Need a new video this one so old.

Does meguiars even make machines? I haven't seen any. Sure doesn't show any in this vid. Porter Cable DA is great though, I use one every day.

Or it is the w64? I like to use use one or orner
This is an old video from 20 years ago, you can tell by the products, most no longer exist. Meguiar's Asia = not the meguiar's company.
Actually they are still trading, their head office is at Silverwater NSW.
This stuff isn't just for cars, it's great for nitrocellulose finishes on electric guitars.
Algunos consejos para dar brillo

you might remember me from other videos like "lead paint: delicious but deadly."
It makes my wine so sweet. I love it. That was what Caligula said right before he made a horse a senator.

What about the orange peel?!
It's a meguiars G100. They say the model number and you can look it up yourself.
