When you build great female characters like in this show, people will LOVE them.
You don't have to force it
About Sky, I find it shows something that happens really often in real life. One person admiring and loving someone who does not see them like that or even just does not see them. The shock for Victor is that his research led to someone's death, not specifically sky's death. It is shown when he goes to scatter her ashes that he did not KNOW her because the only thing that was important to him was his research. She represents the collateral damage of progress, geniuses steaming forwards and catching innocents in the wake of their advance.
A lot of people miss the fact that that little girl that was watching over him and his toy boat in that flashback was Sky. She's always had a crush for him, and I think Viktor, on some level, knew but didn't know how to address it which is often the case of those with brilliant minds but lacking in knowing how to deal with normal human relationships. Particularly those that may lead to intimacy. I think that is what made what happen all the more bitter to him, was because it was a bridge he'd never gotten around to crossing that had just been burned to ash.
@@Dilligff @didier nicolle I was simply saying that I wish there were more scenes between the two so that there was more development before her eventual death, but do keep in mind that this was an absolute nitpick that I thought of during my recording and I don't think it's a con rather a wish for a slight improvement. Thank you for the comments, I really enjoyed the in-depth analysis from both of you.
@@LittleQues0 It may have been a deliberate choice by them not to explore too deeply since there were plenty of other gut punching moments throughout the series. But judging from the number of people that reacted stongly to Sky's demise, I think even the little time they gave her was enough.
Edit: I think it is a strong testament to how tight the writing was that they could give such moments impact by giving every scene and word spoken a measure of weight so that it was never really required being fully fleshed out. It gives credit to its audience for being able to fill in the blanks where so many other shows and movies have to break pacing to handhold you with flashbacks or exposition.
@@Dilligff Completely agree, if they developed more each side character i think the show in general would suffer. Too much info and stories might not be such a good idea
I have watched Arcane multiple time...
The camera placement in the third episode in the boxe scene with Vi versus the Silco's crew is really gorgeous... the choregraphy of the boxing (this fight and the first fight with Sevica) is magnificent!
I have probably spend more time to watch some scenes frame by frame than my first watching...

Great video. Altho maybe choose a less heavy spoiler thumbnail? Thumbnails like this is exactly why I watched Act 3 the second it released. A lot can be inferred from that thumbnail that kind of undermines the core of Act 3's tension.
I wanted to do something for the thumbnail that had a more emotional connection for the audience, but looking back on it now you're definitely right I probably should have found a better thumbnail that was less of a spoiler. Thanks for the comment. Love constructive criticizing, it's how I get better.
I wouldn't say story is simple. Its actually very complex...
It deals with many difficult topics. It prsents problem of class division. There is simply not enough means to provide stability for all people as a result some people are forced to live in poverty without any means to escape it. As a result characters like Vi and Powder(later Jinx) are forced to crime, and in their case its fully justified.
While Vi and Powder resort to crime to change situation of their community, some like Silico become even worse as they sell drug to enslave some citizens.
At the same time, that is the only method for him to change his community
There are absolutely no possiblities to solve the problem, so people do what they have to survive or change the system. In their case its justified.
Only progress can give people possibilities to solve problems. At the same time, progress does not always goes in right direction.
Too rapid progress made council members greedy. They not only lost touch with poor, but also middle class. They only sought ways to expand Hextech faster to gain more profits.
Jayce, being forced to conform to the council changed and lost some of his morals.
While Jayce maintained his ideas mostly, he obviously changed and was not always influenced in right direction.
I was saying that the plot on its own is kinda simple. Other shows in the past had similar plots about two differing sides separated by wealth disparity like for example Outerbanks. With interesting characters development like with Vi, Powder, etc, etc, and very dark and mature themes. It adds multiple layers to the simple plot making it more complex. Absolutely love the in-depth comment. Thank you for taking time out of your day to leave this.
