Hi Roos, thank you so very much for this Orchid content video!!! I am an avid Orchid collector and enthusiast! I do collect houseplants, too but Orchids are my happy, healthy obsession! I'm looking forward to seeing your repot of your terrarium. I only have on jewel Orchid in my collection and she just finished blooming! 🏵🏵🏵🏵🏵🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺
I am an orchid person and i absolutely loved this video. Seeing the nursery and meeting the grower was amazing. These plants are appearing in the uk now but i have not been able to keep any but the ludisia alive! The plants that survived in your terrarium (apart from that one) did well and there would not have been room for them all to thrive but they were all so beautiful and i loved the miniature phalaenopsis! I have not seen anything like that available yet though. Thank you. 😊
So many beautiful jewel orchids! Love those mini phals too!
I'm so jealous. There's so many different kinds. I've been wanting a jewel orchid terrarium too. But I only have 2 kinds. 😂 very nice
This is such a great video!!! Love that you make orchid content too 🥰 shame how a lot of them died but the ones that lived are amazing!
Hope you will have success with your new setup! Beautiful jewel orchids for sure!
Have you grown any in a bark mix rather than moss? It would also look natural in the terrarium. I’m new to jewel orchids but find them fascinating!
I recently moved them to a chunky mix- I hope that helps cos they've not been doing well! ❤️
Love this video! I'm thinking about getting another jewel orchid.
I have macodes petola. It is planted in spaghnum moss in a closed terrarium sitting in a north window. Both orchid and sphagnum moss grew. I give a little fertilizer in rain water occasionally. I tried some cuttings under lights and they sulked.
Thank you! I struggle a lot to keep mine happy even with this terrarium
Hermosas orquídeas joya 💎 lindos colores y formas de hojas. Me gustó el vídeo. Gracias por compartir! ❤
No hablo espagnol but gracias!
I love this music so much.
Thank you very much!
Thanks for sharing your visit to an orchid nursery and your experience with these beautiful jewel orchids! I collect orchids so it was interesting to see how they are pollinated but I am not so good with keeping them watered especially during summer time. For this reason, some time ago I decided to only buy Cattleya and Paphiopedilum orchids (the first are drought tolerant and the second are semi-terrestrial, so if the medium is very fine, it stays moist longer). But seeing these jewel orchids I also started to like these, although I am not sure if I cam keep them alive:)) Maybe in a closed terrarium. Would you say Anoechtochilus are more resilient compared to Macodes Petola?
That's so cool! From my experience, the Anoectochilus are definitely more strong/able to take drying out/overwatering better than the other ones (macodes, dossinia)
Hi there, thanks for the inspiring content. You’ve given me many great ideas to implement with my orchid collection. I really like those cylindrical terrariums but don’t know where or how to get some? Do they come with the grow light or is that a customized setup? I’ve found some through the Tarantula room but they don’t have the large open mesh top or grow light. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
Rob
This one came with a light but I don't think they sell them anymore. It is a really simple setup, all you need is two pot drainage dishes and a piece of plastic.. Also it got too dry too quickly for me, I moved my orchids out
@@plantwithroos oh ok, yeah that’s not good for orchids.
maybe an aquarium would be better
Yeah I think that would be better - and pretty cheap! I look in second hand shops and on local marketplace sites for cheap second hand aquariums 👌
😍😍😍😍😍😍
Hi Roos, I missed this video Roos some reason and just found it. What happened to the orchids in the little terrarium? Do you still have those jewel orchids and two lovely phalaenopsis?
Hey! A few made it and are doing great! Most died tho 😩 I let it dry out too much, too often
I've never seen them growing just in moss, being a terrestrial species I've only seen them in soil.
I have to tell you I've not had success with this moss only terrarium. Almost all of them died!
Where can I get the terrarium like yours?
They were supposed to restock them but with covid they never arrived sadly. But ask @orchidz.nl they are the seller
Hello, what are the chances of getting something similar to that dome here in the US?
I'm sure there are shops there - I saw some stunning designs on instagram! But I don't know sorry
Their webshop currently seems pretty empty. Do you know if that is the standard and most offers are just in store?
Hmm the amount of jewel orchids I see online are pretty typical for them - they don't always have all the different ones ready for sale. But you can always email them to ask - maybe with winter it's less?
@@plantwithroos Thanks a lot! I will contact them then
Hi Roos , I live in Canada and I love jewel orchids, I have two , not enough , how can I purchase more from this beautiful place , do they have a website where I can order online ? thank you
Hey this shop does not ship outside of the EU - most shops here don't cos of all the documents needed! It's a very hard process. So I recommend looking within Canada for a shop/private collector that sells some
i have been searching in Canad for a long time , they only have 4 kinds , thank you , I tried the places you mentioned to me before , they don't sell plants

Hoi Roos, weer een leuke video! Weet je de naam van de plant die je op 22:56 vast hebt? Echt prachtig! Die wil ik ook wel :D
Anoechtochillus siamensis!
@@plantwithroos Bedankt!
hi ,I would like to ask if there is an macodes Petola platinum variety?
I don't know, it's best to ask orchidz directly. Maybe via instagram DM or email?
sure ,I'll Instagram dm,thanks
@@plantwithroos do they ship to the USA?
how much did that macodes Petola cost thou
They were €12,50 last time I checked with them
terrarium is not available on their shop
Did you watch the end? I explain it there
Too bad they're not restocking them right now, I live in Europe and haven't found a similar product at a similar price. Fingers crosses they'll be back in the future🤞🏼
Biorb air 60 if you can find one
I really want to try one but they're very expensive - I've been messaging biorb for years to do a collaboration 😅
I'm bummed that the Macodes petola didn't make it. I wanted to get one, but since yours is gone, I'm going to pass now.
I have two new ones 😅
You have moss on the top of the pots. Is this necessary?
I’m confused, did you watch the video? The whole pots are filled with mos, and the terrarium is also full moss
I don't think they ship to the United States.
No I don't think so either - most companies here don't as the paperwork is very difficult and shipping takes long.
