    I am making this from last more than 10 years using only local tomatoes when it is very economical .Simply crush all the tomatoes in mixer and boil till it reduces to half and freeze them it can be stored for full year with no preservatives.season is coming for cheap and best tomatoes I start to use this puree in july when tomatoes are very expensive. And it tastes 100 percent natural 😍

    Wow! this is good. I always make tomato puree by washing tomatoes and grinding and freeze them in cubes, I store it in zip lock in freezer and use frozen cubes directly in masala while cooking curries.

    I thought this was a great recipe if you're making a big batch. I only needed enough for 2 tbsp lol so I left the "scum". I seasoned it with a pinch of garlic salt and onion powder to make lasagne. It was delicious by itself, thank you!

      The citric acid acts as a preservative and should not be omitted .
      If in s pinch use vinegar

    I tried this, I made a batch of 2 kg of tomatoes, came out well, I don't have citric acid, there are no shops too that sell citric acid as now we are on lockdown, but still it came out pretty well,

      @@vaanyaahuja2491 Citric acid is available at medical shops too. I have purchased it one week back to make this. Or else you can add vinegar too. ☺

    Adding whole carrots to the tomatoes while cooking (remove before pureeing) add a sweetness.

    This is a really good recipe. How long can this purée last without the addition of citric acid? As tomatoes are acidic, citric acid would make it even more acidic...what can be used instead?

    That looks amazing. I doubt it would need to last more than 1-2 weeks for most people unless they had a farm and wanted to store it; that is- most households could skip the citric acid.
