It'll be 22 years in August since we lost my Grandad, Mum's Dad. Daft as it sounds I've literally just wiped a tear from my eye thinking of the old lad.
That girl who is in the picture at 2:21 must have been about 14 at the time. That would mean she is now 66 and old enough to be a grand mum and old enough to have a granddaughter of 14.
I was just seven months old and in the pram at the time (now 54!). Corporal Jones with his grandchildren, minus the bayonet. They don't like it up them any more than the Fuzzy Wuzzies do. Perhaps he was reminiscing about his martial career!
Excruciatingly, skin crawlingly embarrassing. Its hard to imagine how Clive Dunn could have done this. Still, I suppose most people will do almost anything, however degrading if they are paid enough. Oh dear.
Fank Davis I'm not a fan of rap music but I don't think it's necessary to put down other artists for their music just because you prefer one to the other
Loved this as a kid I’m now 56 and still love it
I remember sitting in front of the television in 1971 at the age of 12 just waiting for this song to come on top of the pops absolutely fabulous
I would have been only seven months old and in the pram at the time! Too young to understand or remember that period first time round!
My favourite childhood song bring back memories god bless you Clive dunn
Great piano on this.
That record was int the top 40 right up until the end of April 1971!

"Now my days are gone". I think if he met Jack and Victor they'd convince him right away that he was Still Game.
I was 1 when this was posted on youtubr
You are therefore about my age - I was seven months old (January 1971) and in the pram at the time!
Written by the living legend that is Herbie Flowers. Clive was only 51 when he recorded this, he really was great at acting older than his actual age.
Just as well as I was born in 71, 51 now. Feel like topping myself lol
They don't like it up em Mr Mainwearing
If Private Fraser was among those girls and they said Grandad We love you, Fraser would say "Yeah Speak for yourself!"
They didn't like it up um did they Mr manwaring
i miss your humor
At the point 2:28 the female to the right of Clive Dunn looks familiar! I wish I knew what her names is.
load of rubbish if you ask me! what clive should have sung about was growing old not being a grandad because not many men grow up to become grandads!
You are talking rubbish this man was a legend rip clive
Loads of men grow up to be grandads. Yer talking shite.
@@stevenprice4988 legend?? he'll be long forgotten in 100 years time, just like most people on the earth today.
@@jennyjohn704 birth rate is falling and there's more childless adults in the UK than ever before!!! Yes you've got it.......fewer grandads!!!
We didn't ask you and you know why😂
Now stop getting annoyed about everything. When you have more money, you can buy more crack

@@fankdavis7136 i think a clive dunn mumble rap about sex would be something to hear.
@@haruyasumi616 yep, I’m sure it would..
It was just a silly novelty song there were loads of them in the charts in the 70s for some reason
