I used to be a "traditional" man that put them before myself. After years and years of abuse from rando's I slowly got a clue. I put myself first now and I'm not responsible for making someone else happy. Or pay for their better life.

The concept of owing anyone anything is meaningless. The idea of a better life is nothing but a transient label in an indifferent universe. Everything will eventually dissolve into the infinite nothingness.

Nominally he did, but the reason I think this was staged is: you don't drive dates to coffee shops. Coffee shops are "meet you there" dates. The other huge advantage of coffee dates, besides minimal investment, is _easy escape._ When you drive the date to the coffee shop, you've pissed away half the point of the coffee date.
I think they are boyfriend and girlfriend, and they staged this but didn't think it all the way through.

My ex-wife would try to start fights for the drama. She'd get angry with me because I wouldn't argue with her. I would just look at her stoically, smile, tell her to stop acting like a five year old child. Then she'd really get mad 😂. She tried to tell me once I would be sleeping on the couch. I told her, "Nope, i'm sleeping in the bed I paid for." You want to be mad?You can be mad on the couch. I don't miss any of that. Since 2015, when my divorce from her was final, I have peace.

You are right, but not fast enough. The minute she complains about the date, the date is over. When I was a young man, I was not successful with girls, at all. I had a very pretty girl accept a date with me. I was very excited. When I picked her up the first thing she did was criticize the music that was softly playing on the radio, then criticized my choice of clothes. (button down shirt, blue jeans and a shined pair of Justin cowboy boots) I just stared at her for a second, Then it hit me. She isn't really all that into me. I didn't know why she accepted a date with me, but it wasn't interest. I politely told her that this wasn't going to work, she should get out. We never left her driveway before I ended that debacle. She looked like I had thrown cold water in her face. She tried to protest, but I just held up my hand and said nope, you need to get out. I would have given a lot to hit that, but not my dignity or pride.

A perfect marriage or relationship is an illusion; there's no universal playbook for making them work. What's effective for one couple may not apply to another. Nevertheless, I've come to understand that there's always a solution to be found. Half a decade ago, my wife and I faced such trials in our marriage that divorce seemed inevitable. Yet, through perseverance and determination, we navigated through the rough waters and emerged stronger, reunited, and more resilient

I applaud the sentiment behind your statement, specifically, that two people who are past the initial infatuation stage and are experientially realizing that real life marriage isn't like the fairy tales and Hallmark romance movies say it is can learn to work, live and love together for the long haul *if they put in the work to learn how to do it*. However, given my experience with marriage and that of many other people, I've learned that not only is it not always possible, it's improbable. Marriage is like ballroom dancing: both partners need to be sufficiently skilled dancers on their own (so that was education and skills training right there for each of them), **plus** be motivated to dance with the other, **and also** put in the work to learn how to dance **with that other person specifically** AND THEN **actually do the dancing, each day for years**. Any person who has done dancing long term will tell you that there are blisters, callouses, njuries and days when you just don't feel the motivation. Each person needs to be mostly someone that confers benefits to the other (no one is on their game every day; we're limited humans after all) or else why should the other person stay in relationship? That's a lot of conditions without which a long-term, symbiotic relationship doesn't work.
      .
My belief is that parents don't know this stuff themselves and even if they do, too many don't teach their children about relationship realities and how to love someone when it's not fun or when you aren't twitterpated in endogenous infatuation endorphins. The kids then experience all the usual hormonal and love drives for a mate that our animal bodies produce to enable reproduction out in the wild and go into the relationship scene unprepared. It's not surprising there are so many relationship disasters.

@@davidduval5566 I hope you weren't married. My ex was my hs sweetheart, 9 years together; lived with me about 6. Women can just check out from relationships but instead of womanning up they keep using their partners out of convenience until they have a new spot to move. One day I came home from work and she wouldn't even let me hug her. Made me sleep downstairs for nothing. That whole week she was a callous ice queen. I finally had enough of her bs and broke up with her. Tearfully tried to tell me 'something' but instead begged to let her stay until she got a job (hadn't for the past 3+ years meaning I paid for everything). Found out later when her Gmail was left on my computer the pieces fell together and it all made sense. Her reasoning was something like 'I wanted to unalive myself but instead I went out on dates without the intention of sex to talk to people but it ended up happening'. Yet she treated me worse than a bad dog and tried to run away with the guy who ghosted her when she admitted she wasn't single. You can't make this s*it up... the icing on the cake was the dude was literally better than me in every way. Over 6 ft, looked like a model, probably rich, and his unit was so big he caught teeth marks because she couldn't open her mouth wide enough apparently. I should thank him for getting my time and money to myself. Wish I didn't waste my 20s but oh well...

Have you ever noticed that during a critical work deadline, they never offer to help you speed things up? Instead, they complain about not getting enough of your time. So, in your toughest moments, you end up dealing with two issues instead of one. They thrive on creating problems but never contribute to solving them. When you're young and idealistic, you try to resolve these issues, hoping it will bring them happiness. However, it turns into an endless cycle of seeking attention. I no longer have the patience to coax them into behaving like adults. It's a process that takes years and often leads to relationship breakdowns. They take pride in portraying themselves as victims, so you can't criticize them for it; they view it as a form of praise. By challenging their victim mentality each time they exhibit it, by calling it the loser mindset, they eventually begin to understand after a few outbursts.

She begged me for months to take her back. Apparently, none of those men wanted anything but flirting and sex from her, so she ended up being alone.
She wasn't even the only ex who begged me to be taken back. When you're a man of quality and maturity, and they're nothing but a child in a woman's body, they sooner or later realise that they'll likely never find someone of your quality willing to commit to them ever again, and they realise that all those guys hitting them up aren't doing it because they're hot commodity, but only because they see them as a piece of meat to have fun with.

She was arrested, charged and prosecuted for grand-theft in Washington State for a similar crime. I went to the County Lockup, showed them my paperwork on the car and the engagement ring, and they pulled the keys to car, the rings, and the cash she had on-hand, and set-it-aside. After her conviction for theft and fraud were finalized, she was taken to the county lock-up to serve her sentence of 96 months of incarceration, followed by 144 weeks of probation, she called me to ask for "her" car. I told her that I sold the car I bought back to the dealership (at a loss of $4,100.00). I also reminded her that she owes me and the Bank of America restitution for the money she had stolen. That ended that particular argument, right then and there. From then on, she didn't try very hard to start another one. This was back in the 80's. Eventually she wanted to make an issue about me walking away from her when she was talking. That was when the relationship ended, because she was trying to test me, and I again walked away after telling her that I was finished playing her games.

Essentially you found the action that activated her anxiety the most. She had no control over you walking away, which is why she wanted to shut it down. A stable person can handle a pause in an argument, and it can give both parties time to reflect. Someone who is not stable doesn't want the other person to have time to reflect, they want them to be in a reactive mode of thought only.

First off, it's important to remember that it's the man who usually approaches the woman when he's interested in her. And if he's the one that approaches her he needs to prove to her that he wants to spend quality time with her. He's not going to do that by taking her to Starbucks! And I hope that wasn't their first date?
Second, Women use their looks to attract men because that is what attracts men.😒 Women innately supposed to look for certain qualities in a man as form of protection and security. And that is in just about every culture.
I am 50 now and used to date. But it's nothing like the men of today when it comes to dating my three daughters. I understand why women feel entitled in this way. They should always be made to feel special but not entitled. I think the man on here are confusing entitlement with putting in the effort to make a woman feel good around him. That is what he's supposed to do! He's doing it because he doesn't want to put in the work. If you spend a lot of money on doing a silk press, getting MAC makeup, eyelashes, wax, new clothes and shoes, babysitter, etc. I would be mad too if I was going to Starbucks! Plus! I used to go on a date in the 90s and I would have to find a babysitter. Which requires payment! No! You're not taking me to McDonald's or Starbucks! I mentioned the money you spend but at the time consuming effort to make things work just so you can spend quality time with that person. My cheapest date was going to a park with my man enjoying a walk and actually talking to other people throughout the park. Dates are supposed to be special! That's when a man shows that he is really interested in you. I, as a woman (back then), will show my appreciation by looking nice for him. In the video it looks like this woman felt like she was tricked into believing she was going on a special day and she found out that she's not that special to him at all. Because my date would have asked me where I would've wanted to go instead. Which means he saw her as dispensable from the get! They were never meant to be together! Because I taught my own son you put in the work and effort to prove to whoever you want to be your woman that you have feelings for her. And she is his wife now. And he still makes an effort to do date nights for her.

    • @Sadlander2
      @Sadlander2 Місяць тому +1

@@eulabell4871 I read everything you wrote and then I had to watch the video again because I felt like I watched a different video than you.
The first thing I noticed about this video is that she made a video! You can clearly hear her say _"This guy is broke"_ and I think that we both know that she was making this video to post it online and *shame* him.
I agree with you, the man is supposed to make the woman feel good around him...but then you say _"he needs to prove to her that he wants to spend quality time with her. He's not going to do that by taking her to Starbucks"_ .... Why not? What's wrong about Starbucks? Are you one of those who thinks _"Starbucks? McDonald's Ewww, that's for poor people, that's beneath me!"_ ? If you are, then just ignore me.
You are 50. I'm 45. I think that both of us are old enough to, not only know ourselves and what we want but also know and understand what other people want. So try to see it from the man's perspective:
We hear about more and more cases where women admit that the only reason they go on a date with certain guys is to get a free meal. One way to know if your date is just interested in getting a free meal is to take her somewhere, where they can talk, get to know each other a little bit and _THEN_ decide if he wants to put in the effort, like you say. You can hear him say that money isn't the problem, so maybe he just wanted to know if she's interested in him or just using him.
