Israel is overtly a right wing political project and its government & larger colonial apparatus supports specifically right wing politicians & agendas in the US and other countries, but they hedge their bets by buying off as many Democrats as possible (which is a substantial amount). it's always been pretty insane and self-defeating for the Democratic Party, as an institution, to back Israel unconditionally. The UK said basically the same thing as Canada, that they respect the court and will honor their obligations. They also voted against the US on the ceasefire resolution in the security council that we vetoed (it was 14-1), which just further underscores how isolated we are and how we are throwing away our own interests for the sake of facilitating genocide.
You said it !
Thanks trudeau.
I'm shocked my Prime Minister is committed to doing an objectively good thing. I was worried he'd go the opposite route.
PM Trudeau publicly called for a cease-fire several months ago. He has mentioned the terrible plight of Palestinians many times. He has been a champion of democracy and human rights in Canada where the conservative opposition leader sows bigotry daily.
Don't worry, Canada seems intent on electing Pierre Poilievre as the next PM, and he will do his absolute best to buddy up to both Trump and Netanyahu.
@@nietzscheankant6984 Let's see what that RCMP investigation report on foreign interference has to say when it is released in January 2025. IF as suspected Poilievre is named then it's over for him and he will be forced to retire. My guess is he will retire just before it released and be able to collect his MP pension he qualified for back in 2010.
Thank you PM Trudeau … doing the right thing not very common these days, but some people do come through. I wish it hadn’t taken so long, more pressure on Biden now.
lol ,if anything usa should use their hague invasion act
@@thegodchosenones-we8sp I looked into it. Unfortunately, this is case by case and there is nothing can be done if Israelis themselves hand over Netanyahu to ICC.
So glad to have a reasonable leader to show us the way, way to go Canada!

Jean Chrétien was wildly popular at times for refusing to follow along with America's foreign policy.
We should more closely align ourselves with England and Europe
I just gained a huge amount of respect for PM Trudeau.
Canada almost always obeys international law. It went into Korea as it was a legal intervention, but not Vietnam because it was an illegal war. Same with Afghanistan versus Iraq. It doesn’t surprise me that Canada says it will obey the ruling should they have to.
Still a fan of Trudeau.
As a Canadian, I am legitimately shocked by this. PM's response since the 7th has been quite shameful overall, to the point of bordering on slander at times, so I'm shocked he grew a spine for this. That said, he's getting booted very soon, and I doubt the likely next winner PP will ever lift a single finger to get international law respected, so I'll take the wins while I still can.
You guys already have the election?
Being anti-genocide is actually a pretty popular political stance.
He might actually win if he sticks with it.
Yeah i figured when he slashed UNRWA funding we were all aboard the genocide train real shock to change like this
The 7th what?
That's why as a fellow Canadian I'm prepared to go out and protest any deviation from the ICC ruling and Canada's adherence to it.
PP is a pathetic mini Trump impersonator so expect insanity.
YES!!! PROUD CANADIAN
It is purely performative
The US can't even follow their own laws on providing aid 😂
Or prosecuting/sentencing a 34 times convicted felon.
or electing felons to run the most powerful nation in the world
Its about time the Democratic party shifts away from unconditionally supporting Israel blindly. That has always been the one thing that I have never agreed with.
One of the more egregious examples of them being so-called "Republican Lite" considering how much Israel favors the political right, including authoritarian figures like Trump, who they can easily coddle or buy off
@@mediumvillain Exactly. You'll never beat the Reps by playing their game.
Dems should have been distancing themselves from their views on the border and Israel instead of legitimizing them.
“No equivalence between Israel and Hamas” expired months ago.
It expired way back in 1948, before Hms existed, when Lkd was founded by the Irgun and Lehi trrrst groups. Lkd has never had the moral high ground.
Israel is infinitely worse than Hamas.
@@TheHuxleyAgnostic You mean in 1948 when the armies of five Arab countries attacked Israel for the "first" of many times?
@@jeffspicolli593 The trrrst groups existed before that, dingus. They were forming the current ruling political party, in 1948. Einstein likened them to Fscsts and Nzs.

Did the Jews in 1948 have to be as ruthless as the Nazis in WW2?
Hopefully the ICC can request for Interpol Red Notices for Netanyahu and Gallant. Really turn the screws.
a total embarrassment that the US is so comfortable "absolutely reject[ing]" international law, especially in a case so clear cut as this
United States = imperialist terrorists of the planet.
They have to, If not Biden would have to go in front of that court and answer for his war crimes.
Thank you, thank you, thank you, Canada!!! I feel so grateful to have the kind and moral people of Canada as neighbors. Hopefully some day you can look at us as kind and moral.
Duck you American government!
Oh Canada ❤
Two bits of good news in one day (a temporary tax cut that actually benefits the poor and now this?!; pinch me)
The USA not taking the ICC seriously ain’t nothin new here, folks.
Why would they?
The US has lots of courts and judges elected by Americans.
@jeffspicolli593. Courts that allow politicians to be legally bribed by foreign lobbyists like AIPAC
@@jeffspicolli593not really. It's got a bunch of corrupt toadies who swept into power on apathy and mountains of cash and largely ran unopposed. Not to mention that the Legislative branch of a government is not supposed to interfere with the Judiciary - if the police enforce a warrant for an arrest, no politician should be allowed to "interfere" to "prevent" it ... That is a huge violation of a fundamental principle of a democracy...
This makes me proud to be a Canadian. At least our leader has a spine.
Slobodan Milosevic: You have no jurisdiction!
Saddam Hussein: You have no jurisdiction!
Netanyahu: You have no jurisdiction!
Sorry but they do, Gaza/Palestine is a signature to the ICC therefore what is happening to people in Gaza is most definitely under the ICC jurisdiction, therefore those who are to blame for this are open to having warrants out wether they are signatures to it themselves or not.
Pretending the ICJ doesn't have jurisdiction is the same as parenting the police can't arrest you because you don't recognise their authority.

Canada here: I often wonder if Biden's stance cost Kamala the election. Michigan was "won" by 1% and Pennsylvania by 2%. The Arab vote DID matter, as did the vote of various people who conscientiously objected by not voting.
At least someone is trying here
Australian here - From an outside perspective Karine Jean-Pierre has to be the single WORST White House Press Secretary of recent decades. From the outside looking in the list of the Trump list of Sean Spicer, Sarah Huckabee Sanders and Kayleigh McEnany were just awful people. They were just straight up *LIARS* but at least were competent liars who lied convincingly.
Jen Psaki was also very good at the spin game and also accused of lying, but she also did it with competence.
BUT Karine Jean-Pierre is just straight up incompetent.
*AFTER THE FACT* that Netanyahu stabbed Biden and the Democrats in the back regarding the election Biden should simply throw Netanyahu and couple of others under the bus and leave Trump a mess to deal with.
On top of that if Biden really wants to stick it to Trump then Biden should pardon all of the January 6th Rioters. Yes it sounds crazy but leaving them in prison after the election is just moot. Garland FAILED AT HIS JOB and the one person who should have been in jail s now about to become President again. So if Biden pardons them all it makes NO DIFFERENCE except for one small detail. *Trump doesn't get to do it. Trump doesn't get to stand there and tell his base he did it.*
Even if Biden did pardon the J6 rioters Trump would say that it was he that gave the pardons and his mindless minions would believe him as always so what would be the point?
