  • This is the last (part 4) of the Colorado Trail 2-day trip, Segment 26 (Blackhawk Pass).
    We started this Colorado Trail adventure a few months ago at CT Segment 1 & 2, Waterton Canyon (southwest of Denver, Colorado) to Pine, Colorado. This time, we wanted to adventure out to the Durango, Colorado area. This trail system provides one of the top breath-taking views I have ever experienced.
    This epic mountain biking adventure began at Bolam Pass Rd where we parked the truck. We then rode our bikes up to Crystal Lake. From there, we jumped on the CT segment 26 trail.
    Following the ride, we stopped by a bike shop, "Mountain Bike Specialist," in Durango, Colorado. If you need anything bike related, this is the place to go.
    Next day, I drove on the famous "Million Dollar Highway." A grand scenic drive south on U.S. Route 550 in Colorado on the San Juan Skyway / Million Dollar Highway from Silverton to Ouray . This Colorado Scenic Byway is certainly one of the most beautiful and dangerous roads in America. I ended up in Montrose, Colorado, for a burger at “Crash Burger” and then back to Colorado Springs.
    I was riding with my good friend Brad. This video was filmed also by him. Checkout his UA-cam Channel: / @brada1042

    We stayed at the Purgatory Resort at Cascade Village.

    I just binged all five episodes! Nice job with the editing. I know it takes hours and hours to edit videos like this. Much appreciated! Now I want to go ride some epic single track.
    Seeing Mountain Bike Specialists and the World Championships poster brought back memories. I was in that race and Ned Overend kicked all of our butts, lol.
    You brought back great memories for me and I thank you for it!
    Cheers, Dave!

    Nice job. Love that area and need to try the Colorado Trail. BTW, earlier this year we got coffee at the same shop in Silverton. At that time the sign said "Don't let anyone ruin your day. Ruin it yourself. " 😆

      Thank you so much 🙏. Riding the Colorado trail was one of the best riding experiences I’ve had. The coffee shop was really good. I would go back. Thats so funny about the chalk board quote. I laughed when I saw that. Thank you for watching!

      Hey Bruce! This mtb trip will be hard to top. I’m already planning for next years Durango trip 🤣. I just need to save $$$. Mostly likely I’ll plan for a week long trip instead of 2 riding days. I’m so glad you’ve been enjoying the videos. It really motivates me to put out more. Thank you. Take care my friend.

      Hey Ck. I really appreciate the nice comment. Colorado is beautiful but it can’t beat Switzerland. Your area is just stunning. Someday I would like to ride over there. Take care my friend.

      @@DavePFilms Thank you Dave, it's a pleasure to watch your videos and I'm happy to leave a comment.
      What is missing in Switzerland are the wide open spaces, Switzerland is very densely populated and that means you find civilisation everywhere, I enjoy this in your videos, the wide open spaces and the peace you feel. But as you say, Switzerland has a lot to offer in such a small area and the landscape ranges from 400 metres above sea level to almost 4000 metres above sea level. I hope you have the opportunity to visit Switzerland one day, then we can ride a few trails together. Take care my friend, it was a pleasure chatting with you.

      I highly highly recommend doing it. I’m already planning for next year. I would probably go early to mid July instead. Most of the snow should be gone and flowers fully bloomed. I really appreciate the nice comment.

    How often do you bike, weekly? Everyday? 😁

    • @DavePFilms
      @DavePFilms  2 роки тому

      At least twice a week. I lift weights 5 days a week so I try to balance it out.

    Any clubs that do these rides? Kinda new to Colorado and looking to doing these rides

    • @DavePFilms
      @DavePFilms  2 роки тому

      They have self-guided tours and guided tours within this area. But it will cost $$$. You can google: Durango mountain bike tours and/or Hermosatours.net. There are also clubs I found such as Pedal Durango that is a community based hub for biking. What helped me plan out the trip was Trailforks. It really helped lay out my route and understand the distance, elevation, and trail status. Please let me know if you have any questions. Welcome to Colorado! Perfect place to bike!
