I love Papa thirty-eights! My uncle flew one in the Pacific theater and then in Europe in WWII. HE WAS MY HERO AND THE INSPIRATION FOR ME WANTING TO BE A FIGHTER PILOT. I was able to live my dream as an F4 Phantom II Pilot in Vietnam. I was a Marine Corps Naval Aviator and flew with VMFA542 and VMFA323 in 66, 67, and 68 out of DaNang and Chulai. God bless you uncle Leo, I hope you’re flying unlimited missions with unlimited ammo and fuel!!!

I grow up watching the P-38's fligh over in the 60's and 70's. I think I still saw a few into the mid 1980's. Always loved seeing them. I think the air base in Sioux Falls was one of the last to fligh them.

@@n1114v To be fair, you had to know it would be a problem. Filming something like that is not as easy as it seems, which is why professionals usually do it. Perhaps better to re-shoot with someone more experienced handling the camera and upload newer footage. Awesome plane, seriously! Some people are just frustrated because they really want to see it fly.

I am an Italian boy and I'm building my P38 Lightning but I can not find a store here in Italy that sells suspensions Ziroli P-38 is there any of you who can send me a store in Europe that sells them? because unfortunately ordering them directly in America would cost me very sadly, hello and thank you again.

Alessandro M......there are places world wide that stock gear for more common plans like top flite and other big names. I don't know of anyone stocking gear for plans built aircraft. There usually made to order by robart. Check the internet, you might get lucky

Why don't you use a cordless drill to crank them up? Some kind of rubber bushing on the front of the drill to press against the nose cone
