Nice cutter. Only change i would make would be more sat screws, spaced closer together.
It holds better, plus allows you to clamp short pieces of tool steel.
You can also extend your inserted cutting further to cut larger resurfaces.

Mate, I am not a machinist and I am not sure if I missed something, but I would feel very vulnerable using your nicely crafted fly-cutter. Please please drill holes into the tool holder so that the set-screws provide an extra degree of physical security instead of relying on the friction between the screws and the flat side of the tool holder. If the tool holder should become loose, it would become a potentially lethal projectile. Otherwise, nice work.

I can't tell you how many times over the years i've used a fly cutter just like this one.
The set screws are plenty enough to hold the tool holder in place.

That was my first thought as well. I added my questions on top of the comments before reading your observations. Moreover to me any fly cutter based on the same principle of construction looks dangerous. However they use them all the time...

Great to see sombody just jump in and get the job done. - If +/- 3 degrees is OK, then make it +/- m3 degrees and leave the Sine Bar in the tool box. - If a slot needs to be +/- .010, make it +/- .010 and leave the adjustable parallels next to the Sine Bar. -
I think most people on You tube want to show you just how to do extra and unnecessary work. - This thing works like a charm and took 1/4 the time the "right" way would take.
    GOOD JOB!

As a machinist back in the day !
    I enjoyed watching the fabrication
of the fly cutter ! Noticed as I’m
sure many others did the same !
The stud was welded in then turned
to clean up ! To my amazement why didn’t he saw extra length and
turn the shaft on to the blank ?
Other than that it turned out very
neat as I see the completion !

What does it take for a fly cutter to unscrew from the holder and fly away? I mean it's of course a standard milling tool but it looks prettty dangerous. How tight should the fixing screws be? Will they stay tight and not unscrew in the process of high RPM rotation? I don't think my questions sound as overstatement. One eihher needs to be quite experienced in this kind of DIY tooling or otherwise fully understand the basic principles of fly cutter construction. I would probably never had enough courage to use such a tool.
