Its really crazy how the diving infrastructure and prices at Silfra increased. When i was there we have been the only divers (4pax) in high season. A 10days trip around Iceland cost 1980€, now around 6K!

Thank you fo watching! The Iceland tourism boom is really something crazy to behold. The price for just a single dive at Silfra is more than a couple of days diving in Central America. Still think it was worth it to go though :)
The dive operation at Silfra has grown but I think it is the snorkelers that have really pushed it over the top because it that is so much more accessible. We were still able to have much of the dive to ourselves.
From what i've researched it looks like there are some really interesting uncrowded dive sites like Davíðsgjá in Thingvellir and also a few up by Akureyri. I'd love to go back and explore those someday.

You totally should! You can do it even with open water certification but need some drysuit practice first although they can certify you while there.

This is a really good cover of what the dive in Silfra is like.

Yea it's really an amazing dive that lives up to the hype, I highly recommend it! And Iceland is just such a fun country to visit as well!
I'm so glad you liked the animations, thank you. I built them in Da Vinci Resolve
