Here are a couple of space-saving tips from a college student. You probably only need one plate, one mug, one set of cutlery, and one bowl. You're not gonna have a dishwasher to dump it in so you're gonna have to wash it immediately in the bathroom sink anyway. A mesh caddy is super helpful because it can mold to whatever shape you need and it's hangable. I don't know how useful the toaster thing is gonna be because she's not gonna have any counter space. I was in a triple my freshman year, and my roommates and I had one mini fridge (with freezer) with a microwave on top. For the decor part, we had lofted beds, so we just decorated the area near our beds however we wanted with pictures, fake plants, etc. You'll find out really quick that you might not use many of the items that you bought. Most dorms have thermostats, so you may not need the fan. A printer is not needed because the library would have a printer and she is likely to get printing dollars from the school for the semester. She won't need the tool kit because you can always call maintenance or campus safety to get anything fixed. Also, if she needs something, she can always buy it after the year progresses. I recommend starting minimal and adding on only if you need things. Good luck for the next 4 Arianna!!
Her mums already paid for her meals everyday , just think 3 sharing a small dom! Each bri gs toasters iroining boards irons rtc not much room left in dom
Great advice. Also would only bring a weeks worth of clothes, no reason to pack everything up at home it’s not like she’s moving she is just going to college
My college didn’t even allow anything other than microwaves
@@kennadijoy neither did ours. I'd be shocked if the toaster oven will be allowed. Our dorms also came with a mini fridge. And everyone had to share. If each girl brings in a fridge there will be no floor space left.
@@TexasbyStorm i doubt the would allow it definitely was a write up in my days in college.
My last child just graduated from college! You don’t need everything! I bought so much for my kids to find out we didn’t need half of what we bought! Buy a mattress topper! My kids said that was a game changer!! Plus college beds are not the best!!!
congrats
Yes!! My daughter and all the other students bought mattress toppers! Ellen
Congrats to your child for graduating! I actually didn't mind our college beds.
Check with your college if you are allowed to have the toaster oven. Some dorms do not allow tosasters, air fryers, keurigs, etc
yes was coming to the comments to say this!
Yes,I would be surprised if she can have that.
Yeah, mine didn’t allow for toaster. But we could have microwave and mini fridge
They probably checked already. I can't see them wasting money on stuff she wouldn't be allowed to have especially with that big of a family every penny counts
Agree with all that has been said our daughter is going into her sophomore year at Oral Roberts University they can’t have anything like toasters air fryers etc
Be careful, most colleges won't allow cooking appliances unless there's an actual kitchen in the room. Mine didn't even allow microwaves.
I have been in college for 2 years now and what all my past roomates done is we would just hide them when we were done with em cuz they do room checks but they aren’t allowed to look in drawers and behind closed doors (bathroom and closets) lol
White towels is such a bold move especially going to college.
Make sure she’s allowed to have the “red light” items like toasters and toaster ovens…..most colleges don’t allow them.
******* My suggestion is to get a mattress topper!! You’ll thank me later!! Been through that with my kids!!The dorm beds aren’t that comfy!
This reminded me of when my daughter moved to college. She only lived in the dorms for 2 years, then moved to her own apartment. Being an only child, she needed more privacy. Don’t forget to put her name or at least initials on everything. If your daughter is serious about getting good grades, head to the library, not a dorm room for doing school work. Don’t forget feminine hygiene products. If her college is in a rural area, they may more difficult to buy. Lastly, a quote from Shakespeare, “Neither a lender or borrower be”. She will get along with her roommates much better by following this. Good luck to Ariana!
That's very good advice regarding putting her initials on everything and they feminine hygiene products.
So exciting for you guys! Especially ari! But can I just suggest, I know you got the toaster, but there is a microwave that you can toast, air fry, bake, microwave and convection bake. It’s like having an oven to cook in your microwave it’s awesome! In the long run that may be much more beneficial for y’all in the dorm! (:
Agree, I see the one they picked out as a fire hazard as it can't be cleaned and so small space!
@@pamelacrowell2007 regular toasters can't be cleaned.
Make sure that toaster oven thing is even allowed in the dorms….Ellen
@@narcissaclink3653 the bottoms or sides should come off to shake out the crumbs.
I agree, the air fryer alone in the one you describe is much more beneficial. Even the “oven” part of the flip toaster they purchased is limited in usage….I feel like it would just toast, but in the flat sense.
Do not use command strips on the dorm walls dorms use cheap paint and they will charge you when paint gets pulled off the wall
I agree. I personally used scotch wall tape and had no issues
My university says we have to use command hooks but at the end of the year they ask us to leave them on the wall and they get their maintenance crew to remove them and they don’t charge us if they take paint off the wall, unless it was done before we moved out
@@Luckyabby4455 my sons college asked the same.
Hasn’t anyone lived in a dorm I’m a pro the rooms are small you can’t bring everything in the kitchen sink
Hannah looks good always no matter what, she is so talented with makeup and doing art of her face, she also looks amazing with no make up, her little face just shines when its bare and I love it
My kids college dorm rooms didn't allow hot plates, toasters, air fryers, crock pots. Absolutely nothing that cooks food. They required all students living on campus purchase the meal plan. The dorms with the kitchenette in them allowed more cooking items.
This video made me laugh. Most colleges and universities do not allow things that heat up for cooking.
Is Arianna the first one to go to college? Or just first to live in a dorm?
Hey Crystal...typically when a child leaves for college, especially one an hour away...they keep their bedroom at home. I don't know anyone (and in my community everyone goes away) who didn't keep their own rooms. Also...clothes for each season is what is needed in the dorm room. It might be helpful for you to meet some of Ariana's friends parents and see how they have handled their children going away. I
My kids went to school 4 hours away and we kept their rooms. They didn't move out of their room until they graduated and moved out for their first apartments after they got their first "career" jobs.
My daughter left all her clothes at home other than what she needed for that season. Then she’d come home and slowly swap out summer stuff for fall stuff etc. she didn’t keep her room though because we moved to a different area and had a smaller house.
@@TexasbyStorm same for me. My dorm building provided beds and cubbards for us to put everything in. They also provided a minny fridge and a microwave. All I had to do was bring my sheets, blankets, pillows clothes, and TV.
Well they are big family some kids share rooms so maybe they want to gave it to other kids who want to have their own room.
Hello Crystal,Let me know what she needed for college i be glad to help you with school supply , clothes , t shirt other things but I needed you to sending me your address or phone because I look at YOU Tube everyday . I am friend from Natchez, MS
Lol Crystal is here suggesting a lap desk and all this random stuff while my mom is just suggesting that I don’t waist my money… lol they really love shopping.
One of my hacks for moving my children in to college is large plastic totes. to store everything in to move in and to move out. I had 3 in college, and everyone had different color totes to make it easier to pack up and go. You are lucky she is close. We live in Connecticut and 2 of the kids stayed in state and 1 went to school at Florida International University. Move in and out were the same weekend for my kids. I would do the Florida move in and out and my hubby did the Connecticut move in and out.
We rented a storage unit and stored my daughter's stuff instead of hauling it home between semesters. Saved so much time and only cost a bit more than renting a uhaul would have.
Good luck in college Ariana!! You should be so proud of yourself, chase those dreams and make them happen ❤️❤️
Typically dorms do not allow kitchen items other than a microwave, coffee maker, and fridge, but that would be so nice for Ariana if she could have small appliances.
Man I remember going to college and shopping for all of this stuff by myself. I remember buying tampons with dimes and pennies sometimes. Crystal shows me what a good mom is. Sometimes watching is a bit triggering because I wish things were different for me and a lot of others out there.
HUG
Thats heartbreaking😢 sending hugs❤
So much good advice, I will add you won’t need the tool kit because you call maintenance if somethings broken. A lock box for any valuables or medication is a good idea. We moved my daughter with plastic storage totes that way when she came home everything was in the totes to store in her room for the summer. No reason to store anything that’s in her room at home, when she’s home on weekends or breaks she’s going to want to grab different items or clothes and switch them out as she goes.
Not sure which college she’s heading to out here but Maintenance pretty much everywhere is a joke, best to have her learn skills she’s going to need in the long run anyways. Plus if she can’t use it there’s multiple people in the family that could use it. Good advice otherwise though :)
I mean if it’s something you can fix with a screwdriver or something small like that might as well just do it urself tbh
Omg y'all kill me lol I'm a very very poor disabled single momma so I'm extremely frugal and have learned a lot of money saving tips. You could have def gotten a lot of that stuff at dollar tree. Like the plastic shower caddy, organizers, laundry basket and some stuff you def could've ordered for way cheaper on Amazon. I was like nooooooo don't spend that much lmao 🤣😂😂. Target is extremely expensive compared to Walmart, dollar tree, ross and amazon. I'm actually shocked y'all love ross so much but didn't go there 1st to see what all you got have gotten for cheaper before the target run. I know she probably doesn't want cheap junk ofcourse but dollar tree and ross definitely has some really nice stuff. Some is junk but def not all. I had to check myself and remind myself it's not your money lmao 😆😆😆. I'm so frickin excited for ari and this journey. I think she's gonna have a ton of fun, learn a lot and make amazing memories. You guys are the best parents for being so supportive and taking her to get everything she'll need. ❤️❤️❤️
I know when I was a freshmen and lived in dorm over 5 years ago, the mattresses my dorm had at my school where not very confortable. I solved that problem by getting a matress topper. I would highly recommend getting a matress topper to put on top of the matress. Bed Bath & Beyond has great matress toppers.
100% agree; a mattress topper is necessary for a good sleep. Dorm mattresses are hard! My daughter said that was her one essential.
Ariana college allowed toaster!? What??? 😭😭 my college only allowed microwave & mini fridge that’s it
We’re not allowed for toaster, air fryer becsuse that’s how it can cause fire alarms 😭. Btw I’m curious doesn’t your school have a library where you can print there if you needed too? & you can get the bathroom stuff if you have your own bathroom but if it’s community bathroom it’s fine becuse they normally have the janitor’s cleaners will clean the bathroom for you guys.
Best of luck ariana, college is awesome but importantly focus on education 🧡
My recommendation is to get reusable totes/bags to move in with. Clothes and everything. Then you have them for whenever you come home for breaks and aren’t scrambling to find a trash bag or multiple bags to put stuff in.
Saved my roommate and I a lot of time and money!!
Don’t forget bed raising stands you can get to raise your bed a little for more storage x
Thats an awesome idea
Yes! Those helped me so much! I was able to add extra storage drawers under my bed!
Also they usually don’t let cooking appliances in the dorms just to warm you guys.
Also no lit candles. They are fire 🔥 hazards.
Why do these kids now a days wear the hottest clothing in summer. Ariana and her hoodie… lol. Oh boy.
Good luck in school and “with good preparation there is no fear” basically study hard and be confident you will succeed in class.
Hannah!!!! Gosh I think she is so adorable. Reminds me of my kiddos.
Use clear push pins to hang things up! Learn from me, command strips rip the paint off!
Also use a mesh shower tote, you can hang them from the knob so you don't have to reach down in community showers!
Then use a bar of soap to rub over the hole at the end of the year!
I will say, those command strips do rip paint off. My daughters dorm walls were cement, so push pins wouldn’t work. Ellen
Do not forget to buy a mattress topper! White towels are probably not a good idea. Being 1 hour from home she needs to keep her room at home. She will be home more often than you think, and she will come home during the holidays.
I think the roaster / oven is a big nono because of the heating element ad possible causing fires. You may want to check the college dorm rules
LOL I know it's hard not to buy the entire store and be so excited for your daughter, it's like she's moving into her own place but not. I would save your receipts as I do not believe she will have enough room for all those things. That dorm was super small.
Love everything you bought her though, you sure are a loving caring mom. I lost my mom in 2019 and I really miss her when I see mother & daughters doing bonding things like this.
All the best.
I guess I don't understand why if it's so hot, why wear a sweatshirt. You got quite a haul from Target. I don't know where you're gonna put everything in that small space but good luck.
I think they may have forgotten the size of the dorm they checked out....
Check before taking the toaster ove as I think you'll be returning it. Haven't k own many that allow more than a microwave, sometimes fridge.
Hi Crazy Pieces! I have been watching your channel for a long time, and I’m so excited for Ariana to go to college. I have a top 5 list of things to bring to college.
1. A mattress topper/mattress pad. It will help her sleep better.
2. Power strip with surge protector, extension cord. Oftentimes the outlets in dorms are in weird places that she can’t reach.
3. A fan. It helps keep the temperature cool and also helps with white noise.
4. Organization stuff. I got some hanging organizers and it was a lifesaver!
5. A box of over the counter medicine (Tylenol, sudafed, ibuprofen, other stuff she uses when she’s sick.) Theres nothing worse than not feeling well and having to leave to go get medicine.
You probably will not need the toaster oven.
Can’t wait to watch Ariana’s college journey!
Also, I want to add that no matter how many things you buy, you will need more when you get there and adjust. Or maybe one of the dorm mates will have whatever it is. I love these type's of videos. I am 55 and get excited and it isn't even me going lol. It brings back great memories.
HUGE SUGGESTION: To save you space, give you storage, and helps to pack when moving each year.
Get the long, flat roller bins. You can easily pack everything for moving and once you are unpacked, they fit perfectly under the bed out of site and then you can use them as storage for snacks or clothes!
Oh my goodness , plus clothing a foot ware ? She just bought more than I could have had in my first dorm room with only one roommate ! Bathroom and shower down the hall communal . I took an iron, ironing board , hair dryer ( before blow dryers), curlers, school supplies seasonal clothing . I could never have taken that much stuff . We had to walk to town to use a laundromat . We sat on our beds to study. No desks . Good luck in school .You have to work hard . No not procrastinate 😎
A hit for moving into a dorm, use Rubbermaid containers over boxes. The handles made life so much easier
I’ve lived in a dorm in college for 3 years now. You really realise how little you actually need, I even brought stuff home after a while that I didn’t wear enough and have just a couple items to rotate for clothes now.
I LOVE HANNAH’S MAKEUP!
at first i didn’t even realize she had makeup on! natural beauty!!!!🥰🔥
You are sharing a room with 2 other people and you think all that stuff is going to fit plus what the other people need. I feel like you brought enough for if she was in a single dorm but that was just too much.
Make sure she is allowed to have a toaster. Many colleges don't allow them, as they are a fire hazard.
Gosh this brings me back. My freshman year I tried to cram so much stuff in my tiny dorm, but by the next year, I was like, okay, just these 2 boxes, and I'm good. LOL. Everybody worries a little about the roommate situation, but just be open and friendly, try to share, agree to some rules with each other about noise and guests coming over, and you'll be fine. Hope you have the greatest time ever. P.S. Everyone says I'll be back every weekend mom/dad, but trust me, once school gets going, you're going to be so busy and socializing with all your new friends that you'll look up and it will be Fall break.
Why store anything, just leave her room. She will be home on holidays, some weekends, & summer.
So excited for you Ariana! What a great haul from Target I love them because they carry everything. Hannah is so helpful and such a great sister, I love this family 😎
if you can get any of those big blue ikea bags, they sell some on amazon that are close but they make moving in so much easier with carrying! they have straps and are so strong!
As always, Hannah is so relatable. Just gotta love her.
You need to make sure she can actually take that toaster thing! Most college dorms won’t allow that
With Ariana being an athlete, she should use not just deodorant but a deodorant that's also an antiperspirant. And fully suggest Defense body wash as well ( its good for workout related problems ).
Also it makes no sense to pack up her room like she's moving out if she is going to be only an hour and a half away. She'll be coming home on weekends to do laundry and also for the holidays. May as well leave her room / things as is.
Why do you let your kids jump in the pool wearing regular clothes?
nah, tell me why an add for Gillette came on right before Crystal was about to tell me she uses Gillette deodorant
They get to choose what ads they put on their videos
@@NoeliaSalaz
It automatically UA-cam does.
with my antisocial personality i could never live in a dorm 🤣 big props to Ariana for just going for it! I really hope it works out well!
I really hope you see this! But make sure you get her a mattress protector!! My parents got one for me when i went to school make sure it's bed bug safe! Never can be too careful lol good luck girly you will do great
We will most certainly be getting one! Thanks!
Ariana I’d be very careful about the camera equipment you leave hanging around. I’d put that in some sort of a safe. Not all these girls you will be able to trust.
People saying she brought too much well guess what it's a learning lesson, when she actually moves in she will see if what she brought will fit or if she will have to downsize.
Agree, just hope they've kept receipts 😉
Ariana can store things like the tool chest, cleaning and laundry supplies, etc. in the trunk of her car.
Ariana, I am so proud of you and can’t wait to see the amazing things you accomplish in college!!
Something else you may want is a body mirror (saves space and is very useful)
I'm confused though. Why does she have to lose her room at home just because she's going to college? There will be breaks, where is she supposed to go when she goes home? Her storage room? Aka your closet and wherever you put her stuff. Are you going to take away her bed too? If I were her I'd never come back. It's like she's being unfairly punished with a sorry about your luck attitude.
Also don't you have room makeovers to be doing?
She doesn’t know how often she will be coming home
@@cheyennehalliger5438 why should that even matter
@@cheyennehalliger5438 Not a reason. She is an hour away. She'll be home.
So excited for u, Ariana! Stay focused. Stay positive. Stay humble. Btw, that sage color is one of my favorite color beside lavender. Blessings to u, ur amazing family n to all...

You are getting way too much. Think about if everyone in the room got what you got. No cooking in dorms fire hazard
I doubt they can cook in the room. Fire hazard
@@jojo-tz2ym they don’t they have a kitchen where they can eat anytime they want
@@ashleecollinsworth9279 doesn't matter. Fire codes

I want to see the Vlog when you fit all of these things plus what you already have into her share of the dorm room😅. Who in your family is the one who is skilled at getting all of the luggage to fit on trips? This person must be part of move in day😄
Thank you for uploading so early, 12:48 am here in the Philippines,.you made my day complete, most of your videos I can view it in the morning when I woke up.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Are they allowed to cook in their room? I know when my sister was in college, they weren't allowed to.
Congratulations Ariana, never give up chasing your dreams. 🏆
thats not sage green thats mint green . sage is darker .
Close enough.
Be careful with the toaster. Unless you have a kitchen in your specific room, they usually don’t allow anything other than a mini fridge and sometimes a microwave that is connected to the mini fridge. So you may not even be able to bring it. Also make sure the dish ware is microwaveable safe.
PLEASE STOP with the storage comments!! Just leave her room alone!! For the first year anyway until you know she is fine and all is working out though you should for the full time she is there. You have more than enough rooms and all seem to be happy with where they are and the money spent on makeovers. Give the poor girl peace of mind knowing HER room/bed and stuff will be right where she left it when she comes home which she will and often. She is not moving out like the other kids. College is temporary housing while in classes. I love you guys and this is honestly the first time I have gotten frustrated with you! You do understand that college is not moving out...correct? Kids that go still are required to have a home base. A dorm is only for while classes are in session. If you get this you honestly aren't coming across that way by "packing up and storing". Why would you do that??
Congratulations again and enjoy your time in school. The fan you got is great it will change up and do a high burst of air I just recently bought that same on for my bedroom and office areas. Consider a mattress top and the extra long twin for bedding. Can’t wait to see move in day and how everything comes together.
Yes a mattress topper is a must in the dorms!!!
I'm asking this question at the very beginning of the video how old is Aurora and another thing I think it's so cute cuz I think Hannah is a mama's girl cuz she's always with you

Exciting a new adventure! Questions... I live in Arizona and I see your kids wearing long sleeves and hoodie when its 115 degrees outside. Why? I know fashion is important to teenagers but they have cute fashion for summer wear!
Because they feel like wearing sleeves.
Hi I have been watching your channel for just over one year now and am so happy to see Hanna without makeup and feel she looks beautiful without any makeup as I always felt she always had to much on and now she looks stunning without any makeup on.
You are not allowed to have toaster or oven in College dorms, only a microwave and mini fridge
Not every college is the same.
You shouldnt have to even consider this in a dorm, yet I suggest, from experience, to get a safe.
so this is how privileged kids prepare to go to college wow, other side of the world please be thankful for what you have☺️
If you haven't tried the laundry detergent sheets theyvare the best for camping when you have to lug laundry. I think they'd be great for dorm life (and home life) a huge space saver too
Plastic totes for moving in, then use for storage, empties nest for easy storage. I think you will find you bought too much stuff. Have fun with your new adventure!!
*her room is soo small you wont be able to bring all your stuff* *proceeds to buy the entire store*🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Arianna got lip injections?
I was wondering the same..
I have no idea how she is wearing a hoodie I can't wear a Hoodia or pants in summer and I live in ohio where the highest temp is like 96. Lol
Omg, you are buying alot more stuff than you will use. So excited for you.
i couldnt belive ariana jumped in pool in sweat shirt i thought shed take it off have a swim suit on under but she surprised me when she jumped cloths on 😂... awsome and congrats to ariana im proud of her 🥳...
Great haul! Ariana, you'll succeed in anything you do as long as you are prepared and are determined. You are a cutie pie and I love your smile...it's contagious! Enjoy your new adventure. Stay blessed ✝️! 🤗 CarrieJo/Senior lady in NC.
its best to ask the roommates who is getting the toilet brush and plunger etc.. u don't want to end up with 3 of them. lol..
What I’d suggest is a diaper genie for the bathroom works great when you are on your period. I’m even using one for my cats pretty litter. Trash bags also. Make it the best classes that everyone wants to take. Enjoy your 1st semester. Also if you need a language class take sign-language. It’s considered a 2nd language and so much fun. You are very blessed. 🥰
Arianna I'm so excited for you and you are going to grow and become very independent and you're going to have lots of new experiences and if you struggle don't hesitate to ask help from your parents or colleagues. YOU may feel a little sad being away from yor family and it may be a good idea to take something that will remind you of home. I have all of my confidence that you will be fine.
This is so exciting!! We need a dorm room tour once Arianna is there & all settled.
Have a great time and make memories that will last a lifetime! Congratulations Ariana ❤️
Consider an ice machine…big hit in the dorm room.
I love seeing Hannah without any make-up. Her natural beauty really excel.
Perfect timing! was just about to look for a video when the notification for this one popped up!!💗💗
I hope you are getting a new mattress or at least a good topper pad for on the bed
Could you guys put the list online so we can see what everything thing she bought was! I also going to college my freshman year! Good luck Ariana you will do great!
I have sent 3 children through college move ins and believe me you won't use half of what you bought. We bought less and less as the kids went since we knew what was needed. But it is always fun and an emotional time. Good luck ♥
Thought same. Hoping they kept the receipts!
that was so much for the dorm u dont realzie how much u need
Did not need a three quarters of that stuff. It is called respect your roommates space. No clutter
Always here watching hope Ariana got everything she needs for college and good luck and God bless you'll do great
I hope in the end she gets a bigger shower caddy for shower stuff. Those are small and taking 2 plus a towel and washcloth and clothing will be a lot to carry. In my experience love y’all
