Interesting fact about Marcus’s class: One of the Cardean class locomotives, specifically #907, was involved in the triple train collision at Quintinshill in 1915 (Britain’s worst train disaster)

This episode was interesting, Marcus’ character and the use of Caledonian locos in the flashback. Damn Donald and Douglas got inspired by gentle giant Marcus, damn Marcus gave some strong inspiration to the twins. I do like the idea of more Caledonian locos on Sodor and the NWR could make the roster interesting.
At least Marcus is safe from being scrapped and now he along with Crovan will be pulling a new express service which will help with the increasing number passengers who are using both the Wild Nor' Wester and the Limited.
Oh I'm so excited for this. So his name is Marcus. When I sore him in the preview video that he is a Caledonian engine I had a feeling that Donald and Douglas know him and he knows them maybe they're friends or something.
>engines talk about need for another engine/previous colleagues > said engine somehow shows up on Sodor or somewhere in the vicinity >new engine acquired >new engine doesn't exactly fit in >introduce new train to schedule, conveniently sized to match new engine's capabilities Look. It should be alright that a machine isn't used to its fullest extent occasionally. There's a reason there's the saying "There is no such thing as overkill" after all. Edit: totally forgot about Crovan being too strong for the Limited.
I think i can reconize the music where Donald finds Marcus and i believe it's the same track from the end of Llamas with Hats. I know random thing but it sounds similar
Of course. If you thought not because of Victor Tanzig, then understand that's how he does it, nobody else really. That can be applied to a lot of things he is doing
Only thing is that making a train just to suit an engine when there isn't really demand for it isn't really a realistic business decision. Realistically, it's more likely that Topham would have assigned Marcus as a backup engine for the Nor'wester, while also occasionally taking the Limited when there's heavy demand for it and pulling other trains, like heavy main-line commuter runs and the occasional fast freight, until demand for a new express service comes into play. Although, that being said, if the Nor'Wester were to be upgraded to a direct to London service, Marcus's train could be set up as a direct to Edinburgh service. That being said, demand for the Limited seems to already exceeding its capacity, so maybe the new train is needed.
I reckon Sir Topham made a wise investment rescuing Marcus with some help from Donald and not Ben, Tyler's nemesis from the Highland Railway. After all, I bet Ben's behaviour didn't improve. I wonder what caused him to be scrapped. Did he break down with a passenger train?

This is by far my favourite Engine Arrival. Marcus is an awesome character. I wonder when Donnie the Highland Engine will get his Engine Arrival?
_"Scottish engines stick together."_ Very true, Tyler. Welcome aboard, Marcus! 👍
So will Ben get saved from scrap? I thought Tyler didn't like him and Clarence because of their brutality
😂 I feel special

Amazing video! Really shows that Sir Topham Hatt really is a savior of engines and has his railway as a sanctuary for them!
