Notice how the Roadrunner had all its glass and steel. Can't say that about the camaro
What's your point? The Camaro is a pure bred race car, the Road Runner isn't. Different strokes for different folks. Let's not kid ourselves here, I love both cars, but on a properly prepped race track, the Camaro would have wiped the floor with that Road Runner. They're not in the same class.
Don't forget it's got a radiator also

I'm ALL about MOPAR but the Camero hit some dirt. Nullifies the run in my book. Lucky there was no damage or injuries. Wish they had done another run !! 2 beautiful cars for sure !!

Tip: when smoke fills the cars interior, people fan the car with the doors....get a small battery powered leaf blower and the smoke will be gone in a few seconds.

I plan on adding a procharger to my 70 challenger. I’m not a fan of huge blowers sticking out the hood.

I nailed that finish. I've race a blown Camaro. It just went up in smoke as I left it's ass, two times we ran. 1966 Chevelle SS. She was a monster.
Most all chevy guys talk out your ass talking about a slow mopar. I bet this green road runner other than the back tires is full body. racing a blown light ass 69 comaro. I didnt see any rocks under his tires when he first left the line. But as aways here comes the crying how about looking up the drag radial class its a sweet corvette but its got a mopar Hemi Alex Laughin 3:65/205 then go to the worlds fastest leaf spring Jason Dighys 68 Dodge dart E/T 4:13 /201 both of them cars are small tire cars. Can't any one on this side of the real world can set door to door with either one of these two cars. Unless you have a light weight bigest tire still not many of them. Dangerous race, poorly prepped surface. Looks like the Camaro hit a patch of water or sand. Glad nothing bad happened. Both beautiful cars though. Can't go wrong with either GM or Mopar.

Without reading all the public comments I will say this. And maybe somewhere in here somebody already said it. I build cars. And I’ve seen people construct them and they will leave the crossmember protruding beyond the wheel tub a little bit and the first thing that happens if the car drives through any gravel when the tires are sticky is that that little shelf fills up with rocks. And the minute the car launches they all fall out. Or occasionally rocks will even collect on the bottom lip of the quarter panel or even if there is any lip up on the side or anywhere they can collect they will. Thank God for video as it allows the car owner to immediately know what the problem is if he didn’t already. You just can’t leave any single place for those damn rocks to accumulate or they will. Good driving by the Camaro pilot. That could’ve been a lot worse.
Confused. How is that Camaro running without the supercharger turning?? Is it a shutter speed matching the pulley speed, thing?

It would have been fantastic to see them on the track and while I am a big Mopar fan, I suspect that the Camaro would have won on a proper track and assuming that he could get the car to hook up properly on the launch.

I just laugh when people say take it to the track. They have zero idea the race tracks I like unicorns. we used to have a couple of race tracks within 60 miles of New York City that was back in the old days I believe right now the nearest RaceTrac is over a hundred miles away and a disappearing quicker by the minute this is why you see a lot of racing on the street they going back to basics where it all started the streets

His assistants should have cleaned the stones from in front of his rear wheels.. crazy they didn't check this. I bet they fix it so this doesn't happen again.
PS get a battery leaf blower to clear the smoke from inside the car. It will tasks a few seconds and save swinging the door like an idiot.

The Camaro is my dads car and the gravel was stuck in front of the tire and just dumped out.
It was gravel that fell from under the car, trapped in a pocket of some sort.
The blown Camaro has SERIOUS throttle response for a big blower. No doubt quicker at the track. Roadrunner is beautiful.
