I'm surprised that this sketch is funny not only in Poland, I always thought that Polish humor is too culturally hermetic, because it contains a lot of historical and local references.
You got lucky it is probably most translatable and representative sketch comedy from Poland you could pick. They're well established group 25+ years on stage. This is most typical style as the UK typical standup is less popular yet gaining ground. Robert Górski (door seller ex butcher) is main script writer. I am very glad someone made good translation but still a lot is proverbially lost in it 😅
The guys who plays the worker is actually a super smart guy and a leader of this group (there’s more ppl in the group that just not performed in this skit). This guy graduated from Polish studies (like literature linguistics etc) and his jokes are pure gold! Some are hard to translate to other languages (or even if you can translate, they would lose the actual meaning) but this group is definitely worth trying. The best comedy group for a long time 🤩🤩
God, I work in a DYS store in Poland, in the carpentry section (floors, doors, windows etc.) and there's hardly a day when I don't hear that comedy reference.

The best comedy by this group is in my opinion library (biblioteka), but I don't know if it's available with translation. There are different classes. Very simple guy returns to the library book, which he borrowed. Librarian is an intelectualist and he starts to ask this simple guy for opinion about this books. But it occurs that simple guy didn't read them and he don't wan't to say it straigth and he starts to avoid direct answers. Best interraction between these 2 comedy actors ever - of course IMHO.
I love Kabaret Moralnego Niepokoju. It's one of the funniest ones, along with Ani Mru Mru - roughly translates to 'not a sound' (polish people help me out here 😅) and Młodych Panów (Young men) I know a better Comedy sketch by KMN called 'Odrabianie lekcji' or' Doing Homework'. That's the best one in my opinion!

You need to check out Kabaret Dudek - Sęk, the old black and white version. I have no idea where to find the English translation, but it's vintage stuff when during communist times the comedians acted out an already vintage back then skit from the period between WWI and WWII. It was a very similar kind of a humour about miscommunication and frustration it causes, but there was an extra layer to it that the characters were Jewish and spoke with a thick accent and so on.
