  • My “acid with extra” is finally hitting the big-time - and in no setting more fitting than in the treatment of hyperpigmentation. It’s taken a while but azelaic acid as a search term is trending up, with a 500% increase in search volume than 5 years ago, and with good reason. Not only does it help with sun spots and post acne marks, but it also takes care of stubborn issues like melasma too.
    In today’s video I share exactly why it’s so effective and recommend my favourite products at every price point to harness it’s skin-changing magic!
    As always, thank you so much for watching and for all your support!

    Thank you for all the great info on azelaic acid. I have melasma and would like to start using azelaic acid. Can one begin by using the prescription gel at 14%(highest % allowed in Canada)? I believe it's called Finacea.

    Hello Dr Sam. I never used Azelaic acid before, how long should I use it before I should see results ? So that I can stop it after x amount of time if I don’t see any improvement… I like to keep my routine minimal with no unnecessary products / steps. Thank you.

    I really wanted to like the brightly serum as I loved TO's azelaic acid, but I broke out each time using it. Think it could be the bakuchiol, had the same issue using bakuchiol oil

    Hi Dr.Sam😊 is states that most skincare should be stored below 25°C, but I live in a very hot country 30° - 40° C . In my situation is it better to store skincare in the fridge?

    I wish your product was sold on the US market. I'd try it. I live in the Caribbean and as such our rate of exchange is 10.00 pound to my TT dollar.

    I bought these products based on the excellent reviews. I was actually using dermalogica for 6 months and it’s highly expensive and I felt that it didn’t really get rid of my dark spots.

    I have Melasma/pigmentation and I was told by another derm that if I use Azelic acid at night before my retinoid it will increase absorption of the ret although you say it should be used in the morning after vit C and ret at night. Now I am confused 😕. Please help!

    • @LoveToday8
      @LoveToday8 Рік тому

      You don't want to use the retinol and azelaic together. Use the retinol at night (2-3x a night) and azelaic the mornings of the nights you don't use retinol.

      I’ll say you should listen to your Derm and skin. This is because, your derm knows your condition and you know your skin. Try whatever he/she says, if your skin doesn’t tolerate it, you report back to him/her for other alternatives.

      It can help, but it has its issues. I wouldn't use it myself. There's reason why is forbidden in Europe.

      @lafasview Рік тому

      Yes, it is, just don’t use it more than 3 months. 3 months on, 1 month off. Or 2 weeks on 1 week off (to be on the safest side)
