I've recently had my Personal Development Review which went well, however it really struck me that I am not pushing myself and maybe coasting a little to the point where I meet deadlines just in time. Listening to you explain ways to communicate with your Manager and team, the importance of knowing the business expectations etc was really interesting and reminded me that the reason I enjoy my work is the collaborative experience of successfully getting a job done together. Your excellent vid helped me to reflect on the pressure my Manager is under and to face up to the possibility that I am not as aligned with her through being as efficient and committed as I could be. I say this because she was recently rushed to hospital with a suspected stroke and the day before we were making plans so it was quite a shock. In future I will be approaching work in a more holistic way and with the advice from you vid ask questions to show her that we are in this together in a realistic way.

thank you for sharing! This is very helpful indeed.
So so good!
Thank you ❤
As someone who used to work in retail, I can vouch that managers have NO idea how long something takes. The absolute disconnect is baffling.
Thank you for sharing 🙌🙌🙌🙌
yeap! and yeap! :P
My questions were viewed as incompetence and they refused to meet me halfway on ways of working. Very frustrating
I feel you. My boss told the previous secretary... if she has to answer she might as well do the work... I knew I was in trouble with that personality.
From your brief comment, it appears that they disrespected you as a professional and don't value your skills-set. Personally, I would start to look around for a better company where your skills and experience is valued. Best wishes. EDIT: My apologies! Only just realised this thread is 2 years ago! Perhaps my comment is no longer relevant. But I do hope things worked out for you.
@sergioalmasy8722 thank you, your reply is apt as I am now working my notice and starting a new role in another company next month.
Trying to focus on what you're saying but your hair is annoying me as often covering your eye or face and you might not notice it looks annoying you too... I need to just not watch but listen. Next time do something tidier with your coiffure please
