I am back!!! Sorry for such a long break, I hope that I be able to uploud one video per week. First video in 2017 is tribute to fantastic defender Joo Se Hyuk. Enjoy! Thanks to all for still following me!
Joo Se Hyuk trained me in a club but then i quit the club I couldnt know how to do fronthand but I trained myself I hit and hit with my fronthand smash the ball put top spin have fast reflexes Im shocked that Joo Se Hyuk came on the olympics i thought Woah! is he actually on the olympics
The greatest of all time. You may not win the olympic gold or world championships but in our hearts you are the greatest player ever. Your fan from Qazaqstan🇰🇿
As a Chinese kid grew up in that era, he was actually one of my favourite players to watch on TV. I always rooted for him to win because he was simply more entertaining.
The greatest defender of his generation. It's great to see he has recovered from his illness. What he has to go up against now is that the top players know how to play him.
My God, I'm a new table tennis fan and this legend gifted me a jersey of his yesterday in Frankfurt, so I looked up his highlights and.... he is superhuman???
The depth of those chops both fore and backhand are awesome. Joo also has a decent attack which makes him all round and not just choppy chop chop all the time. Although some defenders are awesome, if their own attack doesn't show through then, against good attackers, they usually lose out.
Ma Lin and Kreanga best matches for JSH. I am very sad I will never get to see him live. Korea has had alot of uniq players, I will never stop watching my idol player Joo

There's something satisfying about seeing the chopper all of a sudden flips a switch, starts attacking, or even wins the point that way. Almost feels passive/aggressive but in an entertaining way 😂
When I was a kid I play the aggressive attacker style. I HATED facing choppers in competition because they tire me out, and it messes up my mindset because I have low patience. Fast forward a few decades later, I am now considering playing the game again and studying the defensive style. I am considering changing my style to a defensive style, and hopefully the newness of relearning how to hit the ball as a beginner (by chopping the ball from a distance) will respark my interest in the game. Who are the famous choppers to watch other than Joo Se Hyuk?
A question and a comment - does he use short pips or long pips on both sides, or just pips of whatever sort on his backhand, sometimes when I watch him play I think he's using smooth rubber on his forehand but the sound it produces makes me think short pips. and a comment, he has better offensive capabilities than the majority if not all of the other defensive/chopper/blocker players currently or recently at least, as some points he wins are simply from his forehand loops/counter loops and smashes, not to mention he has that absolutely killer backhand counter loop/backhand smash that he wins many a point on. And lastly he is a master of ball placement, whether it be defensively or offensively. One of my favorite players to watch, I am just lazy and dumb and just have not looked up what (type of /style of) rubber/rubbers he uses on forehand and backhand. I guess I'll just Google it, but I know some table tennis fans on here know even more than Google does, as Google does not have as much information on table tennis players and their equipment compared to other sports obviously. If anyone knows the answer(s), I appreciate it if anyone ends up replying! - Thank you in advance and for spending your time replying to me, sincerely - Drew
Yes one of the best defender and a couple of nice shots that doesn't change result of the game. Defend style is alway harder to win it may look amusing.
It's too bad this style can't win against the attackers any more. It's obviously crowd-pleasing as every exhibition point is basically one player chopping. And it requires the most athleticism. Maybe if they slowed the ball like men's tennis had to do...

Truly agree my friend
Greatest defender, not the greatest player. One of the greatest players. Ma Long is the true goat.
@@ashupashu5559 i love his style of play so he’s the goat for me

Thanks man, Joo Sae Huyk is one of my favorite players... Great thing you came back,
definitely the best athlete among defenders, and the highest ranked for the longest time
My God, I'm a new table tennis fan and this legend gifted me a jersey of his yesterday in Frankfurt, so I looked up his highlights and.... he is superhuman???
Just amazing! The way he could change the speed of his returns to give himself time to get into a better position.
The depth of those chops both fore and backhand are awesome. Joo also has a decent attack which makes him all round and not just choppy chop chop all the time. Although some defenders are awesome, if their own attack doesn't show through then, against good attackers, they usually lose out.
The last two points against TB are the epitome of defence!
Always a privilege to watch this kind of playing style on a pingpong table.
He could remain topclass as a defender not only he has great chopping skills but also he has great forehand attack.
Amazing compilation! Thanks!

I would say, it's one of the best forehand topspin

Top quality Matches and videos as always, good to have you back! : )
Korean legend chopper Joo Sae Hyuk!!!
Defending against Ma Long must be so scary, amazing job my Joo, nice video!

주세혁 이후 세대에서 괜찮은 수비수는 꾸준히 나오지만 주세혁 만큼의 공격력을 갖춘 수비수는 찾기 힘듦

He uses my style of play, pick till your opponent starts messing up
Korean people can defend very well.
Is it their special ability? Cause in badminton too their defence hard as hell to be destroy
It seems that ironically those great points come from games where he was totally crushed
Relax a bit then, take chances.
