  • A little different play on a Griffiths gnat. A reverse paraloop hackle that gives a deeper presentation and doubles as a quick sight indicator.

    WoW, brilliant with simplicity and scarce material. The paraloop stroke back and then tied on top is simply genius. I like this fly really much.

    Very Nice Barry!! Might be an idea to leave the thread tag to be used to rib the peacock herl for durability. Think this would serve well to imitate the small cassis flies I see in the fast riffles. I'll tie up a couple with bright green or chartreuse thread and form a small (1 - 2 mm long) thread butt to represent the body on those caddis. Thanks for sharing! ATB. Hank

      Hi Hank, thanks, yeah I do mention in the video that if you prefer a rib by all means do it, nice idea with the bright green thread, i'll give that a go!

    I love the way you did that but I am not clear on how how you held up the poly yarn. Never seen that done and do not know that tool you used. Could you send me a link and or explain it to me. Enjoy your book and your channel. Jim Holland👍

      Hi AJ, I am using a gallows tool, it hangs over the vice jaws with a clip that you can attach materials in to give you a free hand.

    can you please show how you are holding/fastening yarn for the loop please.i need to do it this way,i have tried with a loop and finger ,i can't do it that way,thank's.is there a special tool or jig to hold the yarn,if so what is it called.can i see a picture of this setup.

    • @Thefeatherbender
      @Thefeatherbender  7 місяців тому +1

      Hi Chuck, if you can manage the loop in your finger trick, you will need a gallows tool. This hangs over your vice jaws, like a hangman's gallows, and holds the poly yarn in place while you tie.
