This was an absolutely excellent video! Well done and thank you for making this so easy. This is exactly what I was looking for and as a value add you showed me how use the hot key to be able to retrieve the location without going through maps or a lot of menus! Perfect!
Hi Andy, yet another very informative video thank you..I've had my Fenix 6x for about a year and did'nt know about this feature...well I do now and it's now set to show the grid reference...Thanks for the great videos..Martin
This is the video I needed! I have been trying to understand how to enter a 6 figure grid reference into my fenix and finally, I understand. The 10 figures in the way the watch displays is quite confusing. But at least I know. I'm guessing that you use the first 3 for 6 figures and then the 4 for 8 figures and so on.
Hi thank you, yes we use the first 3 from each line for a 6 figure and first 4 from each line for an 8 figure, please that the video helped , Kind regards Outdoor GPS Shop
Where did you get that watchband im about to get the mineral blue fenix 7x solar sapphire upgrading from my Fenix 6x ss I usually get black but getting a white and blue I like your videos and also want that band
Thank you the video. Can I enter coordinates to navigate me anywhere in the world? For example I've got a trip to the Sahara desert where there is no data connection or Internet can I use the watch to guide to my destination?
You can change the Fenix 7 watch to a number of different position formats not just British Grid that we use in the UK, this link to Garmin's website shows the options support.garmin.com/en-US/?faq=lvWzTYlPsx6BvUDTyKfqC8&identifier=865945&tab=topics you can then mark a waypoint on your watch at where you are and then select edit and edit the location grid to one you want to navigate to, kind regards
Sorry a little confused by your question. A grid reference it made up of x 3 elements - Two letters - eg NU (which tells you which 100km x 100km it is) Then two sets of x 5 numbers (Easting and Northings) BNG stands for - British National grid i.e. the watch is set up to show a British grid ref. I hope this helps.
As someone who struggles with map reading in certain areas. This is a great video thank you
Thanks Andy, heard this on the Podcast this morning - now setup on my Fenix 7 Saphire Solar .

I concur. Great video.
Brilliant video buddy. Been trying to sort my fenix 6x Pro for nav for ages! This video is spot on and really easy to follow!
Save location is really handy. Track back too on my Fenix 5 from 2017 I think. Saved me couple times.
Brilliant tutorial. Thanks very much for that.
Excellent. got the GR working on my 6x now. Thanks

Very informative video Andy ; could you help me do the same setup for British Grid for Forerunner 55 watch?
Sadly we don’t have any Forerunners to make a video with as Garmin class us as an outdoor retailer/ trainer.
Please accept my apologies.
Great video
Glad you enjoyed it

I tend to use Explorer, rather than Landranger.
Is there a way to display the appropriate reference for these.
Or, am I being a muppet. 👍🏻
The grid reference on both Landranger maps and Explorer maps are the same.
@@ukgpstraining I knew I was being a muppet 🤦🏼♂️😂
Thank you for replying so quickly.
Love the videos, they are so helpful 👍🏻
What are the last 2 digits
NU 32 and BNG 92
