I love these barber cords so much! They work great for provisional cast ons and makes it easier to slide stitches on and off the needles. You can tie the ends together to secure everything and it's easy to take the knot out afterward. Also great for trying on top down sweaters and not having to worry about getting it over your head or losing stitches. I used to use a piece of yarn for provisional cast ons but this is so much easier. Can't say enough positive things about them!

This is not a true provisional cast on. It is essentially pre picking up stitches on a finished edge. Look at Laura Nelkin’s video for the real deal.
