T1 Pro V2, Medium mode should work fine in most scenarios and transitions to high very quickly. I also like having 3 modes and run times. #1 reason is the difference I see in the nighttime clarity, I like a whiter light for sure and the little bump up in candela is a plus. Great informative video, Thanks!
fenix ld12r is my favorite edc currently, going on about a year of work duty. my biggest gripe is the finish durability. It should look 'battle worn' but looks nearly new. sticking with 14500 theme the klarus xt1a seems like a solid preformer(programable dual switch for instant high, and instant low), but the fenix is great with the external usb charging, and magnetic pocket clip.
Regarding the UI (default modes for tac vs edc usage) I think it would be cool if it were programmable between 2-3 different operation modes, kinda like how Klarus (and some others I think) do with some of theirs. So it can have a tactical mode or an edc mode, rather than two totally different lights
They should make it: Low - half press (hold). High - full press (click). Simple and effective. (And while they're at it, add a strobe tot the tac with a click and hold) In some cases (tac) you want the high right away, so one click. (Or strobe, click and hold). But in other cases you will want the low setting only. To preserve your nightsight, not blind yourself/colleagues when taking a quick look at something in front of you (map, item etc.) or if you dont want to light up the entire room/area. With the current UI you'll always need to flash the high or medium settings. Which, for me, is a dealbreaker unfortunately :(
@knaudi86 in the meantime I got the EDC33. Great light. Single press: on (last used setting) Half press & hold: search (56.000 cd) Full press & hold: turbo (4000lumen) This works pretty well. I try to turn it off in low mode so the memory mode remembers. (Would have preferred a dedicated way to always turn on in low/moonlight. But this works well enough for work) I also got the Thrunite archer pro S (704). Very small AA size light which is (almost)perfect in my opinion. Press & hold: moonlight Single press: on (memory mode) Double press: turbo (1450 lumen) Triple press: strobe (If this light had a half-press into a search mode with high cd it couldn't be better)
As soon as a I saw the high lumens of 550 with the size of the torch I was disappointed, e.g olight baton S range = 1100 lumens, size of my thumb, they are expensive though, are these a lot cheaper?
It's would be a good option for self defense, but not so much for viewing pleasure, that pro version though I like the warmer beam difference, I always thought the Fenix tk16 would make a beastly self defense light with high candela if walking near scary dogs or people
Keep them coming guyyssss!!!!!

Great job my friend
They really should put the warmer LED in the Pro V2 and the whiter LED in the Pro Tac.
This. I don’t understand why they do that. And that UI is a big turn off.
Does the extension tube (BB7) work on both lights? And do you sell that?

This is how the T12 operates. Its perfect.

@knaudi86 didn't know about that one. Nice light for sure. And 141.000 cd is sick😲
You should have compared the high modes side by side.
nothing to protect that tail switch seems like it would be a problem
3 click pour le mode low

$56 at Going Gear right now. The truly impressive feature on these lights is not necessarily the lumen output, but the high candela!
@@goingprepared I would take candela over lumens anyday ... I might get myself a Weltool ... I currently have a Streamlight Protac 1L-AA
my tac model starts all the time on low tf 😂 shouldn’t be like this right ?😅
I miss the reviews with Marshall :-(
Big nope. Waaaaay too much candela. I prefer a wider beam. And such poor runtime.
