With our avid we’re getting 150-175 on take off and landing we routinely 250-350 not slamming on breaks. Still playing with the new landing gear the tk1 racing and 10 inch tail wheel. We also have the continental 0 200

@@OneAV8 we had the grove landing gear from factory the heavier one because our avid is heavier than most. The Matco wheels and brakes didn’t work well on our avid also had issues with the wheels and tires. Brakes no matter how hard you push on them they were very weak. But everything is going great now with this upgrade.
I’ve been debating the Baringer route.. mostly because I’ll need to upgrade my tires too and I don’t want to have to sink all that money until such a small plane. 🤷♂️

National STOL is coming to Nashville KXNX on Sept 1-2. Why don’t you bring it out and try it for the competition?
I have told all my friends that if I get my brakes upgraded to have true stopping power, I’d like to compete!

I have a Maule tailwheel… I’ll have to check the logs to get the exact model 👍
@@OneAV8 That is what I have currently and am seeking an upgrade from the single leaf spring Maule tailwheel. The spring installation bolt only allows for 1 leaf spring, which fails quickly.
I haven’t thought about that… add it to my list of needed upgrades 😎
What engine do you have in it?
Hey, Daniel. I have the 85hp Jabiru in it 👍. As lightweight as the Avid is.. it’s plenty of horsepower!
@@OneAV8 I know most of them come with the 60hp rotax 582 mounted inverted. What is your TBO with the Jabiru? I've heard of people putting a HKS700 in them for the benefits of 4 stroke, and those have a fairly high tbo.
I’m a 2,000 TBO. I like the Jabiru since it’s more of a conventional engine.

@@OneAV8 That'll make a big difference! Even up here it's been either mid 80's or Canadian smoke for weeks!
Luckily we haven’t had to worry about much smoke this year (so far 🤞)
