It's always so weird to me when I hear that parents didn't let their kids read/watch HP. My dad is a pastor and my mom a religion teacher. But they were happy that I wanted to read at all. And after my sis and I got really hyped about HP, our mom started to read it as well to see what it was all about. And she loves it and my dad loves the movies. I think it's because they informed themselves about it and noticed that in the end HP is not about magic really. And especially not about praising dark magic or satanistic stuff. It's about friendship, good over evil, growing as a person etc. It's sad that some views of people keep others from enjoying something amazing. I get that it's mostly out of protectiveness, but still.
It honestly fueled my obsession for it.
I'm so jealous of kids who’s parents get into reading the series. My parents will barely watch the movies 🥲😂
Some people, especially some Christians, claim that Harry Potter deals with demonic stuff because it has magic. But, if they really took the time to see what it's about, they'd realize how wrong they are and that Harry Potter has nothing to do with demons or satan. But instead of that, they choose not to understand.
@@raijyn2452 I was taught that the mere act of showing interest and entertaining the idea of witches or anything percieved as demonic is inviting that evil into your life.
@@raijyn2452 Yes i agree. That's kind of what I wrote.
One of the basic appeals of the Harry Potter premise is that he's a classic Cinderella scenario: An orphan who's treated badly by his relatives, made to live squalidly and work as their servant, until he's given the chance to recover his birthright and become the hero he was born to be. And every culture had its Cinderella story, it's the most universal of folktales, because we all imagine it for ourselves.
well said
Yes, thats why i like it a little bit more than LOTR. HP is giving us magic, epic fantasy stories, comedy, but it can still relate to our real world. For scenery & epic feeling, I give it to LOTR. But in overall, i put HP in the 1st. Because LOTR kinda lacks of humor & less related to our feelings in the real world.
Funny that you mentioned how it sounded like Star Wars. John Willams did the music for both Harry Potter and Star Wars. Also, he did Jurassic Park, Home Alone, Jaws, India Jones, ET, Saving Private Ryan, Schindler's List, and Super Man.
I appreciate how Hannah lets Aaron discover the movie by himself. I usually avoid reactions where one of the two has already seen the movie, because they always reveal things in advance or explain stuff that the other is confused about, which I find annoying as I want to see someone experience the movie for the first time.
All the ones I've seen only explain things that the movies never explain cuz they don't explain some things.
Well in Hermione's defense if you die you can still stay at Hogwarts and continue to learn. If you get expelled you have to leave and your wand gets spanked in half, plus with her being muggle born get kicked out of wizarding school after being the first magical person in your family would be worse than dying
I mean, you *can* continue to learn as a ghost, but you won't be able to use the magic, so what's it matter? Look at Myrtle, I doubt she bothered continuing classes.
@@Lokear but Hermione also enjoyed history of hogwarts and wizards so she could learn that as a ghost ?
@@orangbutt Fair.
@@orangbutt not everyone can just become a ghost.
Not everyone can just become a ghost though. Otherwise that school would have far more as well as the world in general.
Aarons parents: “there is no such thing as magic!”
My son's timing via this serie is amazing... He was a kid who did not want to like reading AT ALL .............until I read with him the first book (after the first movie came out). Then, as we progressed in the book, I had to excuse myself because of a phone call and told my son to continue a phrase or 2 by himself till I got back. the next night, as I noticed that he had read a few lines, I still excused myself to go do some chores in the house and told him the same ... please continue till I get back. It took me just a few more minutes than the night before. and so on the night after and so on ... Finally, I got him into reading AND BOY is that cost me a lot of money as at a certain point the books were not coming fast enough in the house .... but it was for a good cause. And that is how JK Rowling got my son to love reading :)
Just a heads up, the musical score for Harry Potter was from the same guy John Williams who did the score for the Star Wars movies.
Just starting your Harry Potter reactions. It's always so crazy to me that some people weren't allowed to watch it as kids. My grandpa took me to see the first one in theaters for my 9th birthday and I was in love with the series ever since. I got to show the movies to my bf a few years ago because he wasn't allowed to watch it either. Looking forward to your reactions to the rest. 💕
Yessss!!! I first found you guys through LOTR reactions but I’M SO GLAD you’re doing HP too!!! Excited for the series!!
Ha - same!
"You're a great wizard, Harry," Hermione said to Harry who hadn't cast a single spell the entire movie. :D
It could happened off screen
Made wands fly off shelves, exploded a vase, commanded a broom, killed a teacher 😂 Everyone always says he hardly performs magic in the movies but no one pays attention.
@@adventuresinlaurenland nothing intentional u mean
@@udraj914 Ah yes, accidentally commanding a broom is my favorite pastime.
@@adventuresinlaurenland touche
This was a special movie series for my daughter and I.
Every year, as they came out, we read the book together just before the film, then went to see the movie.
It was a truly fun & wonderful experience for us. My girl was about the same age as the kids, so also grew with the films. :)
Aaron should do the house sorting quiz so that he know what stuff to buy at Harry Potter world.
give the kitty a little bed on the counter behind you !! 💗 they clearly like hanging out there with you
Love that you started this series, your reactions are so good! :D
Gonna love going on this journey with you, you are going to LOVE these movies Aaron. Strap in, hang on, and enjoy.
Tolkien might have created Gandalf first, but both Gandalf and Dumbledore are basically inspired by Merlin 😁
I disagree.
Gandalf is more inspired by Odin.
@@denizkenger52 I was just about to make that very point ;)
I LOVE how Hannah is such a Lord of the rings enthusiast. Same girl, same!
Good to have you guys back! This is going to be a fun journey. I hope you guys have a great time at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter as well! 🙌
Actually the order they name the students for the sorting hat is different in the book which is in alphabetical order, if I remember right
Welcome back!!! Missed y’all!
I took my three kids to this (saw Monsters Inc the same day lol) and I remember the absolute awe sweet all felt watching! I have read the books and watched the movies with my youngest two and we are so into it lol. My youngest son was so obsessed that he refused to sign his own name for 6 weeks on his papers at school. He only signed Harry Potter. Lol
i love how your boyfriend knows to appreciate how special these movies are :)
I’m so excited that y’all are back! I’ve never read or watched Harry Potter but my sister is absolutely OBSESSED with it. Hope y’all are enjoying married life! (Y’all definitely started the Crumble trend, every time I see it advertised I think of y’alls channel.)😁
Also, I love the Charlie cameos 😂
loved this! cant wait to watch the rest!
Can't wait to follow your journey! I am subscribing
When I got that notification, I was so excited to get home! Welcome back!
WOW!!! Haven't seen you guys in a long time! 😁😁 Hope you're doing well and staying safe!
OH! BTW, Hanna, you recognized the music of John Williams. He composed the music for Star wars and many other movies, and of course harry potter. My favorite Star wars music is The Duel of the fates. Phantom Menace
Welcome back!
Awesome, can't wait for your husband to watch the other movies , my personal favorite is the 3rd but i love them all
Where have you all been? You guys are strong reactors. I hope you pound out this series!
I'm excited. Loving Harry Potter is a personality trait and I have it
CHARLIE 😍 Love you guys, glad you’re back!
Oh my god you’re back, you’re back, you’re back!!!!
So weird. I was just looking at your guys' channel last night wondering where you'd been! Glad y'all are back!
Any musical movie score by John Williams is always a masterpiece! I was surprised you left out the part with Harry's broom getting jinxed.
Great reaction. You guys should wear light tops because the darker tops are blending with the background. Love the new setup.
I’ve missed you guys!!
I am both a Potterhead and a Tolkien fan, I do prefer Tolkien, but one can love both.
Hope you two have an great and awesome day ❤
I'm glade you both watched it his child like glee watching is great to see
29:52 YOUR FACE WAS EVERYTHING HAHAH
I felt in love with the first one after my sister had the first DVD but after 3rd came out I collected the first 3 special edition dvds, the 4th one, especially playing with the interactive features from 1 through 4!!! I never read the book after getting the special 2 disc edition DVD and started with the 5th,the 3rd, 4th,2nd,6th 1st and 7th books,I watched The Order of the phoenix in IMAX and 20 minutes of the explosive finale in IMAX 3D was unbelievable!!!
The Sorcerer's Stone is the US,India, and Philippines is our version Philosopher's stone is the Original version of the title or British version.
Subscribed for this journey. I enjoyed the movies but really liked the books far more. Your set up is far better than the previous so congrats on that. Like others will mention, the mirror image of the film is bit distracting. Small matter but hope you can correct going forward. Looking forward to your next installment.
Omg, FINALLY
Yay another Potter reaction
Congratulations lovebirds!
I got to experience the Harry Potter world through the eyes of my youngest son, who was 9 when the first movie came out. We started binge listening to the books on audio (Jim Dale rocks) via road trips and of course, we were always in line for the movie premieres.
We just got a Crumbl Cookies in my area and I think of you guys every time I pass it 😂 I'd never heard of it before your videos!
Do you realize that if harry stayed in bed and didn't try to save the stone, the stone would remain in security.. instead Harry had his first kill at 11 years old.
Actually, they could have left the stone in the middle of the Great Hall and it would still not be stolen, since Dumbledore put that spell that says you can only find the stone if you don't want to use it haha
You will love Harry Potter at Universal. Make sure to go through Ollivander’s wand shop. My son was chosen to try out the wands and it was so great when the “ wand chose him”. They had the best time practicing all the “spells” around the park.
“Ooooh, a manotaur”
Bless you, hahaha
Can’t believe this movie is 21 years old. Feels like yesterday.
And frodo must have stolen a magic rings...he looks completely unchanged
Frodo?
*A Centaur appears*
Aaron: Ooo a minotaur!
😂😂😂
Looking forward to the rest of the series guys! ❤️
Can you expect intelligent comments from certain reactors? And do they realise that when it was originally published in the UK it was the called "Harry Potter And The Philosopher's Stone". The title was changed for the US market because the publishers felt the American public were too stupid too know what a philosopher was. And seeing some of them react, it appears they were right! 🤔😂😂😂😂😂
@@mikelarsen5836 Damn. Which American pissed in your cereal?
@@mikelarsen5836 Actually it wasn't that they wouldn't know what a philosopher was. It was the concept of a philosopher's stone which is not widely known in the states. That is predominantly a European concept.
@@K000H Me. I did.
@@mikelarsen5836 I’ve seen some British reactors who weren’t too bright either. They didn’t pick up on any clues regarding what was going on in the stories, so get up off your high horse.
I'm always up for finding random channels reacting to HP
I think Aaron would be a Hufflepuff.
I am a Hufflepuff.
First time Harry Potter watchers always get a sub from me. Can’t wait to experience the husbands adventure!!!!!
OMG - When you guys go to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter you NEED to go to Florian Fortescu's Fountains of Fantastic Fortune, The Hopping Pot, The Leaky Cauldron, The Hogshead, and The Three Broomsticks on a pub crawl...and taking the Hogwarts Express between Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade between the two is a trip...
Your cat in the background terrified me for a hot minute 😅😅😅
I feel like Harry Potter is slightly better than The Lord of the Rings. The Harry Potter movies are far deeper than most people think they are.
I'm solidly a Ravenclaw, by the way.
these films are really good
For a split second I was like "Mirrored?!" and then it clicked. Copyright. Clever!
dumbledore just casually taking slytheryns win away
Sorting Hat a foot from Draco's greasy head, "SLYTHERIN!"
He didn't want ANY of that mess.
Back in action .
Funny you should say the music sounds like Star Wars. Because there's a meme saying Harry Potter's base plot line is basically like Star Wars.
Enjoy the audiobooks when you can
Excellent way to experience the world of Harry Potter
Great reactions and good discussion, but the film audio level varies through the 45 minutes from fine to almost zero (for instance at 15 minutes).
Good video! subbed :)
In which House would Aaron be?
Hmmmmm... Desire to read the books when they were forbidden? Bit of Ravenclaw and Slytherin there.
He seems to be a wonderful person and nice and polite. Bit of Hufflepuff and Gryffindor there.
I'll say Hufflepuff. It's my house as well. Good luck in sorting! I hope you feel at home! :D
26:39 - we can talk about MINOTAUR? xD
Thank you, Hannah and Aaron :) You two are great!💞
Finally. a husband who doesn`t have to be forced into happiness because of his stubbornness and prejudice :)))
aaron is a gryffindor and hannah is a ravenclaw
I'm not sure if its 22 years. But they recently had their 20th reunion. I hope you watch and react to the 20th anniversary reunion when you are done with the series.
I grew up watching and being an potterhead. I'm not too crazy about it, but always see the movies around Christmas.
2001
Tell Charlie I love him 💖
Alot of hermiones moments were stolen from Ron in the books. The director took a liking to her and basically soiled alot of Ron's character to put hermione out front.
He needs to watch them all before y’all go!
Why is the image backwards in this film?
As one of Slytherin House we would welcome Charlie gladly
21:22 oh little do they know that a game exist where ppl carry broomsticks between their legs and runs around with a ball in hand
Why did America change the title of this film? the book is called Philosopher's Stone.
I love Philosopher's Stone, such a nostalgia :)
I am happy you didn't include that dog's drool, most other reactors do, ew xD
If you go to ride the Hogwarts Express at Universal there's a part where if someone videos it looks like you're going through the barrier to Platform 9 3/4. My sister and I were there for a week so we were able to get video of each of us going through.
Harry did NOT kill Quirrell in the book. He just kept him in pain until help came. Voldemort killed him when he left his body.
Aaron strikes me as a Hufflepuff. Kind, happy, easy to get along with.
It’s not really clear exactly how Quirrel died in the end. I believe Voldemort killed him when leaving his body as well but books don’t outright state it as a fact.
@@denizkenger52 I believe you're right about the 1st book. I think what I said is explained in the 4th book though.
Good seeing a reaction where the person actually hasnt seen the movie
The scar is actually shaped like that because it’s the movement you are supposed to make with the wand to (SPOILER)
Cast the killing curse
It's also cgi.
Gryffindor where dwell the brave at heart!
Cunning and daring (bad eggs) go to Slytherin
Ravenclaw takes the smartest minds
Said kind Hufflepuff I'll take the rest and treat them all the same
Love the reaction guys!🤩
May i know what are you guys Hogwarts House?
In Universal these places are rebuild but in WB. Harry Potter Studio Tour you can go to the real places including diagon alley and theres wayyyy more to see...
Wow. It has been about a half year.
12:42 what does the train guy say here?? He says it in almost all of the platform 9/3 quarters scenes
HP starts off a bit slow, because they're kids, but it builds, and by the time you get to the end ... it can hit hard. It's not perfect, but it's fun, and really ... one of the best film series ever made, by the time you get to the end.
Gryffindor are the brave, Ravenclaw are the brightest, Slytherin are the strict on pure, and hufflepuff are the rest.
A manotaur! LOL.
Like your broncos shirt Hannah
You get an owl at 11.
actually you can play quidditch in real life. there are even a few associations
the houses you can summed up with, Gryffindor is courage, Ravenclaw is wit and wisdome. Huffelpuff is hardworking and slytherin is ambition. there is even a fan thory that the pevesies from the CoN is the founders of the hogwarts houses. Peter is gryffindor, Lucy is hufflepuff, Susan is Ravenclaw and Edmund is Slytherin.
May I ask what exactly was the reason your parent gave you not to let you watch it? 🤔 I'm curious...
just from those box of cookies im pretty sure i know around where you live i interveiwed for crumble cookies
I tried crumble because of you! And my life has been forever ruined. 😉😂 So thank you for that.
