Freddie's real goodbye to his fans was "These Are the Days of Our Lives". This was his last video, and it shows how very frail he had become. But he wanted to say goodbye in person, so at the conclusion he he looked directly into the camera and said "I still love you", and left the screen.
In my opinion in this the best vocally song ever not only by Queen, thinking the state Freddie was in this is just the most powerfull song queen ever made
THE GREATEST VOCALIST EVER! He was very very ill when he recorded this, yet he still hits the notes. Guys, this wasn’t the last song he recorded. On the Album Made In Heaven, the last song Freddie recorded was a track called Mother Love, he sang the first verse and chorus but was too ill to come back and finish it, hence Brian May sings the last verse.
Do you know he did that in one take? He was in so much pain, a shot of vodka, “I’ll f***ing do it, my dear” to Brian, and there it is. The greatest of all time, the embodiment of this song.
These lyrics - knowing that he was facing death - heartbreaking! It’s watering my eyes every single time listening! R.I.P. FM! He will never be forgotten
He was the sexiest, most macho gay man ever. He was the greatest vocalist ever. This was written by Brian May and sang to perfection by Freddie just months before he died. Legendary!
@@hdebard I think he was actually, a recent post I read by Roger said he was very macho and yet shy. Really doesn’t matter, he was beautiful regardless
@@hdebard Freddie was a boxer as a teenager, I remember one of the roadies said at a concert in really early days someone in the audience said a nasty comment and Roger and Freddie jumped off the stage and had a fist fight with a couple of guys, Roger lost a tooth. Then they finished the concert. Also an American college football player was a bodyguard for Freddie, he said Freddie could handle himself very well. Freddie wasn't a weeping willow.
This song is my favourite in the Queen catalogue. When you were talking about being concerned that Freddie might sound weak and that, before the song, I really thought you were having us on that you’d never heard this before, because this MIGHT be the most balls-out, hardcore, emotive, and intense song of the band’s career, and Freddie’s most impassioned vocal performance. This tune is one of the all-time greatest middle fingers to the Grim Reaper.
Fun Facts: Adam Lambert, who took over as Queen's touring frontman in 2011, says this is the most difficult Queen song to sing in terms of vocal range. "It's very high, and it's really intense," he said in an iHeartRadio Ask Anything chat. -The video is mainly just clips of old Queen videos and a few live performances, but it is so cleverly edited and spliced together that it works as a video of its own. -Guitarist Brian May wrote this while lead singer Freddie Mercury was dying of AIDS. It was Mercury's last official album with Queen, and when it was released, very few people knew he had the disease.
The greatest performer of all time! He is a myth, a legend, the goat!! If he only knew how special he was. How much of an inspiration he was 2 people, performers and influencers. Apparently, he was told his teeth were affecting his voice, but he decided 2 keep the way he looked. In the end, he performed the best gig of his life, and the most epic live performance ever! Live aid paved the way 4 the most watched festival performance ever played. And no other band could compete against them! Whoever seen them live, u r very lucky. And u’ll never see a band quite like them again. Xxx
MOTHER LOVE was the last song he recorded, before it was finished he felt ill and tired, told Brian he'd finish later but passed before it was done, Brian sang the last verse to complete the song
This needs more upvotes, so many people don't know this fact. It annoys me that people keep pushing things that aren't true. Mother love is a heartbreaking song and I can still feel the pain in Brian's vocals, even after I lost a majority of my hearing that voice has been imprinted in my memory for life.
it raised my 7 yr old daughter's awareness so much she disappeared from the room and started sorting through her toys and games, Asked me to set up a table outside and give her some change. She made a sign for LiveAid and then sat outside selling her treasured items to passers-by. Iirc correctly she collected about £11 which we were able to remit to the charity through the Post Office. Although the various acts were great, what stuck in my mind was Bob Geldorf, the organiser, getting so worked up, he shouted at us all to get our f-ing money out on live telly!! :D
Freddie Mercury was an artist and gave his best until his last day. When you guys mentioned if the quality of his vocals be in bad shape as his health condition I was just waiting to actually see your reaction. I was glad to see a genuine reaction because it was real. Yes, sadly a true artist left us in the early 90’s , just like Kurt Cobain tragically. The show must go on. I’m sure that was an statement from Mercury accepting his fate and acknowledging life and death. RIP
John said it best, "As far as we're concerned, this is it. There is no point carrying on. It is impossible to replace Freddie." He retired from public view and lives with his wife of nearly 50 years in the same home purchased with his first Queen royalty check.
Freddie's voice is unmatched Did you know that even scientific study confirms Freddie Mercury had an unparalleled singing voice. That what makes his voice so special was extremely fast vibrato 7.04 Hz and subharmonics. He was able to create several more layers of harmonics than anyone else. Freddie was using a subharmonics by vibrating his ventricular folds, a technique usually found only in Tuvan throat singers. One of the conclusions from the studies was that "Mercury was vibrating something in his throat that even Pavarotti couldn't move and that kind of creates a very typical vocal fingerprint" Freddie recorded the opera album BARCELONA with famous Spanish soprano Montserrat Caballe Check out Freddie's solo Exercises in free love, his voice will blow your mind. It was his impersonation of Montserrat"s vocal style.
This song is beautiful and makes me want to cry. What a beautiful human he was and taken too soon! I often imagine the impact he would have had in f he would have lived longer. We all loved him. He was and is the goat!
I was 15 and cried for hours when he died. He was my inspiration for so much, a fond memory now. But Freddie would be very proud of Adam Lambert and Queen today, they perform all the time around the world. For an excellent Brain May solo I suggest Five finger death punch and friends, Blue on Black.
The greatest frontman (and band) in rock history. There’s no way else to explain Queen. I think Brian May wrote this one just Freddie but the last song/video did was These Are The Days Of Our Lives. That one way written by Roger Taylor basically about his kids, but it took on a whole other meaning when Freddie sang it. You will notice that the band is now called Queen & Adam Lambert. He’s not there to replace Freddie. We all know that’s impossible. He’s there to sing with Queen & help support Freddie’s legacy. Freddie will live forever through his music & even that’s not long enough to display his range of talent. 🖤🎶🖤
Thanks to you and others who keep reacting to Queen, Freddie will NEVER die! He was the best front man/singer ever and will be missed forever! Freddie will be so proud seeing that his memory never dies (and his songs could never be sang with so much passion as him) can you guess I'm a huge fan of his? 😆😛🤩
Last video: These are the days of our lives. - Last vocal: Mother Love - Last live performance: August 1986 - Last song he partly wrote (the rest had to finish it but there are some of Freddie's vocals on the song): A Winter Tale - Last public appearance: February 1990 Brit Awards
One off my fav tracks by this band . The video is a compilation , of their biggest Hits / Videos , and off their live perfomances . through out the years . I always shed a tear , when I hear it , the lyrics and Freddies voice is so mesmerizing , This song was made after he reconciled with the band , and knew , he was sick .He said he wanted to work , till he couldnt anymore . and that he wanted to do as much as he could , with the time he had left . Plz do Scandal next ty . Ty for a great reaction as always . This wasnt the last video though , it was "Those are the days off our lives " U can , even see how sick and fragile , he was in that video , but he just kept on . Such a fing Legend , and so missed .😢 Lambert is doing a good job with Queen btw .
This was and still is an amazing song. Freddie voice still amazing and beautiful even though he was nearing the end of his life. Heartbreaking masterpiece. We did lose a legend way too soon. Never forgotten always remembered. ❤🙏🌈
Some information about this song: The lyrics are about the need to press on and make the most out of life while you can still enjoy it. It is inevitably a comment on Mercury's worsening condition, and his attitude towards life - May noted his incredible courage in the Days of our Lives documentary. "He never moaned, he never said 'my life is s--t, this is terrible, I hate it,'" said May. "He had an incredible strength and peace." After listening to John Deacon and Roger Taylor playing the chord sequence that later on would be the basis for almost the entire song, Brian May sat down with Freddie Mercury and the two of them decided the theme of the song and wrote some lyrics. May wrote down the rest of the words as well as the melody, and added a bridge with a chord sequence inspired by Pachelbel's Canon. May was convinced the song's title was too predictable and offered to change it, but Mercury refused. "The Show Must Go On" came from Roger and John playing the sequence, and I started to put things down. At the beginning, it was just this chord sequence, but I had this strange feeling that it could be somehow important, and I got very impassioned and went and beavered away at it. I sat down with Freddie, and we decided what the theme should be and wrote the first verse. It's a long story, that song, but I always felt it would be important because we were dealing with things that were hard to talk about at the time, but in the world of music, you could do it. - Brian May, 1994 The lyrics are full of allusions, metaphors and other figures of speech, making it somewhat difficult to understand. Thinly disguised tragedy ahead is announced. In the end, the text refers to the determination, the furious desire to live ("I have to find the will to carry on with the show") in spite of vanishing strength ("inside my heart is breaking, my make-up may be flaking"). I woke up one morning with this image of butterflies in my head, and I thought I would love to hear Freddie sing: 'My soul is painted like the wings of butterflies.' I thought: this is Freddie. And he's not going to write it for himself, because he wasn't going to thrust himself forward in that way, you know? But I can write it for him. I wanted to put those words in his mouth. And it was a gift from God. I don't even know where those lyrics came from. So I presented it all to him the next time he turned up in the studio, and by that time he was suffering a lot. He could hardly stand. I played him some of the demo, with me singing, which went incredibly high and was very difficult. In the past, Freddie was always shouting at me, like, 'It's too fucking high! You're making me ruin my beautiful voice!' So he downed a couple of vodkas, neat, then propped himself up on the desk and worked his way through singing all of that song. And it was amazing. I think he did three or four takes, and he absolutely smashed that vocal. It's like he reached into a place that even he'd never got to before. I remember saying to Freddie, 'I don't want you to hurt yourself. You know, don't force yourself to do this if it's not going to feel good.' But he said, 'I'll fucking do it, Brian!' And he did. And it was beautiful. I think it's one of his finest performances of all time. It's incredible. "In the final mix of The Show Must Go On, when you get to On with the Show, you are listening to a man who conquered everything to deliver his finest work.” - Brian May, 2023
Thats because most people try to camouflage things. Ofc we didn't know until the early 90's for sure he had AIDS. But Freddie knew he had "something" since 1985, just after Live Aid and before the Wembley tour. If it was not a disease that could be fixed he would have figured by the next year at most it was ending. Most songs we now look at as Freddie's last songs were written way before the video was recorded.
This is not Freddie's last song. Mother Love is. He sang the first 2 verses and told Brian he didn't feel well and would come back the next day to finish. He never came back. Brian sang the last verse. The end of this song has Freddie's vocal improvisations from the Wembley concert. It also has a snippet of every Queen song ever recorded put together and then rapidly run through a tape machine. It also has a part of the first song he ever recorded, Goin Back which he recorded under the name Larry Lurex. Trident studios wanted to experiment with the Wall of Sound technique and asked Freddie to record 2 cover songs. Queen hadn't recorded their first album yet. Freddie told them he would not record a cover under his own name so he made up Larry Lurex. It is a play on the name Gary Glitter. He also recorded I Can Hear Music under that name. Both Brian and Roger are on those tracks as well.
I'm so glad you explained that so well. I wanted to add that Brian has been interviewed several times talking about how _Made in Heaven_ (Queen's last album as a group and released 4 years after Freddie died) was made. It is both a brilliant and heart-wrenching. Freddie was so ill, but insisted on going into the studio, even if it was for a very short time. Brian said they didn't write whole songs much of that time, but Freddie said, "I just want you to write a line and I will sing it." Brian said they would scribble a phrase on a piece of paper and hand it to Freddie. Then he would sing the line 3 times and move on to the next scrap of paper. As @MikeyDiLorenzo said above, Freddie was so ill that when he left that day saying he would be back and never did, I just don't know how Brian brought the strength to sing the last verse of "Mother Love." After Freddie died and Brian, Roger, and John had a couple of years to mourn, they went back into the studio to cobble together the songs from the lines Freddie had sung. _Made in Heaven_ is a one of my favorite albums because of its tenderness and the love you could feel the three had for Freddie... and that Freddie had for Queen. The only instrumental Queen ever did is on this album (called Track 13 or Untitled) and I meditate to it several times a week. Track 13 is exquisite and often described as Freddie's Ascension to Heaven. _Made in Heaven_ also has the shortest track of Queen's library and is 4 seconds long... "Yeah." I think I'll put the album on now. I hope you will find time to listen to it.
@@barbherrera5613 Sorry to correct you, but Queen had done a couple of instrumentals before the one on 'Made In Heaven'. The first version of 'Seven Seas Of Rhye' on their first album & 'Procession' on their second album. 🙂
@@barbherrera5613I bought Made in Heaven not all that long ago and can’t bring myself to listen to it yet. I’ve heard some of the songs but not all. Thanks for adding that info. Freddie was amazing. He handled the last year of his life with dignity and sheer will and strength.
Amazing band. So many awesome songs and styles. The clip of the helicopter flying over the crowd was from their last ever live show in the UK at Knebworth Park in 1986. I feel so lucky to have been there
Freddie laid down tracks of his voice he knew he would never hear recorded, but he wanted to get it all on tape, most of this ended up on the Made in Heaven album released in 1995, four years after his death. Queen is still touring today with Adam Lambert singing lead. I saw them live last year, it was great.
Queen had so many great songs. This one is probably in my top 3, especially knowing the reference, with Freddie being so unwell, and passing away soon after this song. He really was special!
I remember being stunned when he died. I didn’t know he had aids before he passed. Things have changed so much in treatment unfortunately it wasn’t in time Freddie and so many other people. I have a family member who was diagnosed with HIV about 20 years ago and he is living a full life till this day. Great song ❤ Thanks guy’s. Freddie chose the name but I think it was Brian and Roger started the band. All of them wrote songs.
You're not the only one to have goosebumps listening to this song. Hard to believe that was one of the last things he recorded at the end of his life yet he still had so much POWER! Freddie was one of a kind legend. Gone far far too soon. Amazing. 💔💔😭
The 1985 Live Aid concert was to help famine victims in Africa, it had nothing to do with Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome. It was a massive coordinated multi-band live concert from multiple locations around the globe that was also broadcast live on television and radio. Each performer or band had 20 minutes to perform live, then the broadcast would be from another location so that they could take out the equipment from the last performer and set up for the next. Meanwhile, the audience was able to watch and listen to the performance from one of the other stadiums. Queen chose to perform a selection of portions of their hits, like a jukebox sampler, while other performers chose to present material they were working on, or just a portion of their current concert material.
Brian wrote this one at a time when he knew Freddie didn't have a lot of time left, he knew his band would soon be done, his marriage was breaking up and his father was sick with cancer. In such uncertain times, the one thing that Brian knew was that music was part of him and for the most part the driving force in his life so in spite of everything, he knew that the show must go on. I don't think he had a clear vision about how that was going to be but he knew he would have to continue in a forward motion. Thank you for your reactions. I like to be appreciated for my efforts and I do like to be entertaining, but I do not like to be the center of attention. This is not Freddie's last video, Those Were The Days Of Our Lives was his last video and Mother Love was his last recorded song. The band knew for quite some time of Freddie's condition. He did not announce it to the public until the night before he passed, though. Live Aid was a charity concert for aiding with the Famine in Ethiopia, it had nothing to do with AIDS. The movie is confusing because it is a movie and not a documentary so a lot of it is not exactly correct and the timeline in the movie is way off. Putting 20 years into a movie really did mean moving things around so the movie was entertaining and interesting,
HEY GUYS…. The LAST thing Freddie recorded before he passed was: “MOTHER LOVE” …He only sang the first two verses, then told Brian he needed to leave and rest, and that he’d come back to finish the song later… and he never came back. Several years later, Brian sang the last verse to complete the song for inclusion on Queen’s posthumous-Freddie album: Made In Heaven. “Mother Love” is a GORGEOUS song, well worth reacting to! (But PLEASE NOTE: It’s much BETTER with just the LYRIC video or a fan-made compilation video… but PULEAZE… NOT the official music video!🫣 …It’s a confusing sci-fi thing which completely detracts from the song’s lyrics and deeper meaning.)🙏
Not sure if anyone in your live chat said this...the Live Aid concert was put together by Bob Geldof (lead singer of The Boomtown Rats) to raise money for the people starving in Ethiopia. It had nothing to do with AIDS awareness.
They still do concerts but with a different front man his name is Adam Lambert. He won America Idol years ago! He's good but I'm 63 and a big Freddie fan always!!❤❤ Rip Freddie the original Queen 👑 Loved and missed 🎸🎤🎵
The secret to Freddy's voice is deceptively simple. What made him great was simply giving everything he had to the song. There is not a song in his catalogue where you will hear anything less than maximum intensity. "Intensity" can be defined many ways, it's not just being loud or fast. He just gives over all his emotion to the line he's singing, and holds nothing back. He had just enough range and control to do that with any emotion he needed to convey, and he capitalized on that like crazy. He's one of the rare vocalists that is just 100% connected to the lyric every time he sings it.
Freddy Mercury was the GOAT! "The show must go on" is a catchphrase that's been around for many, many years for actors and other performers. Thanks Guys.
Brian May shared his concern with Freddie being as ill as he was he wouldn't be able to hit the high notes Freddie downed a shot of vodka and said fck it I'll do it. This amazing song was recorded in one take. I've been a fan since the mid 70s, I'll never get tired of listening to Queen. Freddie may have left us too soon but his music will live on forever. If I might make a request? I would love to see your reaction to Tie Your Mother Down live at Wembley 1986. 👑
Once they knew Freddie had AIDS, the other band members would ask him what they could do for him, and he would tell them to just write more songs for him to sing. Brian told a story about recording with Freddie when he was already very ill. He would lean against the mixing console in the control room and sing from there. Brian asked him during one session if he could keep going. Freddie's response was, "Of course, darling, I'l f***ing do it!" Then he'd toss back a couple of vodkas and go for it.
Freddie sang this in the last months of his life Mother love is his last recording worth listening to,he died before 😢he could finish Brian sings the last verse. Back to this Brian was wondering if he could hit the extremely high notes. Freddie said " ill fucking fo it darling," took a swig of vodka and hit the mic. This is a permission and suggestion song. John the bassist left shortly after Freddie died,je wss so traumatized and wrnt into a deep depression they all said the ladt months although tough they were closer than ever. The group formed a tight circle around him,the tabloid press camped outside hos house for 3 months before his death causing them to flee to their recording studio in Switzerland. The guys that took vate pf him daily till the end, his husband manager and band knew for quite a while but Freddie was concerned in 86 confirmed in 87. Ill stop mow you must be asleep 😂. A fan since 71 when they formed so im an old lady now,and fancy a soom to be death also i took a lot of inspiration from Freddie and still manage on good days to dance around to Queen 😂 I too sm a fan of rap,see you ate never too old Im sure thr updated news on Queen others will share. Why not watch Liar at the rainbow 74 the video is great Blessings from England xx
Brian May? You mean the guy who still plays and carries on the Queen legacy and also works with NASA as he is an actual Astrophysicist? That Brian May? Adam Lambert has filled in quite well and they still play to huge crowds. Brian also did some solo performances and did an interaction with a virtual Freddie to sing along. Very impactful and tearful presentation.
The Live Aid show was a concert raising money for the people of Africa who were starving during those times...where aids was a deadly disease when it started. I often look at how it killed Freddie, however Magic Johnson has survived it so far..
Brian May said their last video with Freddie was These are the days of our lives. He said Freddie was so sick during the shoot that everyone was worried for him. May told him if he wasn’t up to it that’s ok. Freddie took a couple shots of vodka and told Brian I’ve got this darling. AMAZING 😮 🔥🔥🔥. The video is his last known piece of work & it’s easy to tell how weak & sick he was. Please react to that one. It’s his final goodbye 💔😢
Queen continues to this day. Initially it was Queen + Paul Rodgers and now it's Queen + Adam Lambert. Personally, I wish they'd get Marc Martel on vocals. He performed the vocals for the Bohemian Rhapsody movie if there wasn't a recording of Freddie they could use. Also he sang for the Ultimate Queen tribute band.
His last recording was the song 'mother love', recorded 11th may 1991. The Shows must go on was the last single during freddies lifetime released 16th october 1991, the last filmed video was for' these are the days of our lives' 30th may 1991
Your reaction brought tears to my eyes ……I loved how you loved hearing Freddie’s voice. Have you ever reacted to “Love Me Like Theirs No Tomorrow” the animated version from Freddie’s solo album or “The Great Pretender” also from his solo, with Roger singing back up. Have you ever heard him sing opera with Montserrat Caballe …it is amazing…”How Can I On” and “Barcelona”. There is so much more for you to listen to…..please don’t stop. Thank you.
GREAT reaction gents! I was waiting with a huge grin and anticipation after your skepticism on Freddie's voice capabilities being his last hurrah. The anecdotal story from Brian May is that he was very weak doing the takes, May recalls; "I said, 'Fred, I don't know if this is going to be possible to sing.' And he went, 'I'll do it, darling'-vodka down-and went in and killed it, completely lacerated that vocal" - that is what Freddie put behind this - everything he had! It was primarily written by Brian, but the band knew of Freddie's illness, so they knew how personal this would be - as gentlemen and good friends, they kept it quiet until Freddie chose to announce it! Contrary to what you might think - Freddie was quite reserved regarding his personal life. As much as he was flamboyant, and his sexual orientation was almost blatantly obvious, I don't think he ever publicly disclosed these details. I get chills every time I hear this song...the whole composition plus Mr. Mercury's perfect vocal delivery make this one of the best tracks they ever did! RIP Freddie.
I loved this reaction. This is a fabulous song, but so much more poignant when you know that Brian May wrote it for Freddie and that he recorded it just 6 weeks before he passed away. And he knew... there are times when I'm angry that Freddie went out so early, but on the other hand, he went out on top. I have to think he would have hated the process of becoming old. Much like Marilyn Monroe, he will always be remembered as vibrant and young. Freddie was just so ... Freddie. He was like no other, for sure.
The album was actually released about 9 months before freddie died in 91 so was probably recorded in 90 but either way it's a great vocal for someone as I'll as he was in those years.
@@stuartaustin8130 Ah, you are correct. I see that they did record it in 1990 ... it was released six weeks before he died. My error. Thanks for the correction! 🙂
Brian May wrote this song and when it came to recording he was concerned that Freddy wouldn't be up to it. Apparently he told him 'Fred, I don't know if this is going to be possible to sing' and Freddy just said 'I'll do it darling', put his vodka down and went into the studio and absolutely smashed it. If you want to see the last video they ever made with Freddy you really should check out "these are the days of our lives", but have a tissue ready, it chokes me up every time!
A great tribute to Freddie was on Britain`s got Talent, young man from Australia sang this give it a listen , just can`t remember his name, something, could be Sean Miley More,, Queen ran over their time at Live Aid because the story goes the man in charge of the clock loved them and turned the clock around so no one could see it, also all the other artist`s agreed that they were the best on the day, Greddie had a throat infection and was told by his doctor not too do the show, and they turned up last thing to replace a band that cancelled.
Every member of the band wrote hit songs, sometimes together and sometimes they'd bring in a whole song of their own. Brian May was probably heavily involved with this one as he was with Who Wants to Live Forever
Go Whalers! (Hurricanes). Speaking of Hurricanes, I’m alive from the heart of the NC Mountains. Sorry to worry the tribe, we had no cell service, power, water, food for days. We got extremely lucky, all around me many people did not fair to well.
Brian May wrote 'The show must go on'... but Queen was collaborating as a band w/ songwriting and Freddie Mercury contributed ideas but he was sick in 1990 when the album 'Innuendo' was being written and recorded... So, he could not work for too long in the studio. He relied on Brian May, Roger Taylor and John Deacon to write the material. Queen was a brotherhood and they trusted each other... However, Freddie still sang 100% when he recorded his vocals and 'The show must go on' ... was one of his greatest performances under the worst circumstances in his life... He was the singer and he had to make the words his own when he sang. There was no way Queen would continue without Freddie Mercury... Bassist John Deacon did the 1992 Freddie Mercury tribute concert and completed the tracks for their last studio album 'Made in Heaven' (released in 1995)... but he quit the music business by '95 and kept his distance from Queen (He still collects royalties from the band but has lived quietly in the UK since then) Brian May and Roger Taylor had no intention of carrying on as Queen and did their best to promote the band's catalog of music... In 2004, they decided to start touring w/ Bad Company vocalist Paul Rodgers... but it was as Queen + Paul Rodgers... In 2014, they started touring again w/ American Idol contestant Adam Lambert as Queen + Adam Lambert... Their recent N. American tours were almost sold out and made more money than Queen made on their US tour in 1981 (the band was in decline by then in N. America)
Freddie is on record saying that the name Queen conjures all kinds of ideas. Brian has said , we realized that if the idea of the name caused so much discussion among the band that it might actually be perfect. He kept it a secret from the world…not those close to him. Although he did keep it from the band as long as he could. When he finally came clean, they did everything in their power to both protect him & help him make more music.
The Show DID go on... with the great Paul Rodgers, formerly from Bad Company, for ten years, check out the song "We Believe" off the Cosmos album... then later with Adam Lambert, the almost winner of America's Got Talent, check out "Who Wants to Live Forever" live... they called them Q+AL... TY for a great reaction... blessings.
Live Aid was for the famine in Africa. And yes, the greatest vocalist that ever lived. Brian wrote it for Freddie, knowing what he was doing and feeling and going through.
One of my absolute favourite Queen songs, Check out all of innuendo, especially I'm Going Slightly Mad (Insane video!) and These Are The Days Of Our Lives, have some tissues ready though, the greatest goodbye ever written
Freddie's real goodbye to his fans was "These Are the Days of Our Lives". This was his last video, and it shows how very frail he had become. But he wanted to say goodbye in person, so at the conclusion he he looked directly into the camera and said "I still love you", and left the screen.
Love that song😢
A heartbreaking video.
@@catherineday951 Rudi had to record the last frame twice because Freddie wanted the head drop and finger flip as the good bye as we all know.

Thanks Kathleen.
This needs more upvotes, so many people don't know this fact. It annoys me that people keep pushing things that aren't true.
Mother love is a heartbreaking song and I can still feel the pain in Brian's vocals, even after I lost a majority of my hearing that voice has been imprinted in my memory for life.
Freddie was groundbreaking in everything he did. He wasn't afraid to show who he was.
We love you freddie and we miss you dearly.
R.I.P FREDDIE
Absolutely everybody in the World have to admit, that Freddie is the GOAT! His voice… goosebumps ❤ Freddie is forever!!!
LiveAid was a concert for Africa. It was raising awareness about famine and money to help people in Africa.
it raised my 7 yr old daughter's awareness so much she disappeared from the room and started sorting through her toys and games, Asked me to set up a table outside and give her some change.
It is impossible to replace Freddie."
He retired from public view and lives with his wife of nearly 50 years in the same home purchased with his first Queen royalty check.
Freddie's voice is unmatched
Did you know that even scientific study confirms Freddie Mercury had an unparalleled singing voice. That what makes his voice so special was extremely fast vibrato 7.04 Hz and subharmonics. He was able to create several more layers of harmonics than anyone else. Freddie was using a subharmonics by vibrating his ventricular folds, a technique usually found only in Tuvan throat singers. One of the conclusions from the studies was that "Mercury was vibrating something in his throat that even Pavarotti couldn't move and that kind of creates a very typical vocal fingerprint"
Freddie recorded the opera album BARCELONA with famous Spanish soprano Montserrat Caballe
Check out Freddie's solo Exercises in free love, his voice will blow your mind. It was his impersonation of Montserrat"s vocal style.
This song makes old headbanger cry every time.
❤ Freddie is forever in our hearts
This song is beautiful and makes me want to cry. What a beautiful human he was and taken too soon! I often imagine the impact he would have had in f he would have lived longer. We all loved him. He was and is the goat!
I was 15 and cried for hours when he died. He was my inspiration for so much, a fond memory now. But Freddie would be very proud of Adam Lambert and Queen today, they perform all the time around the world.
For an excellent Brain May solo I suggest Five finger death punch and friends, Blue on Black.
Bawled my eyes out. 😢
Thank you for the memories ❤❤
All 4 members of Queen will always be the greatest band of all time and I'm grateful I had the chance to see them several times.
Saw Freddie twice in the 70s. I get all choked up listening to Innuendo.

Thanks for this freddie tribute...freddie was a very corageous man...!!
This song always hits were the feelings are!! Such a GREAT song!!
"He had an incredible strength and peace."
After listening to John Deacon and Roger Taylor playing the chord sequence that later on would be the basis for almost the entire song, Brian May sat down with Freddie Mercury and the two of them decided the theme of the song and wrote some lyrics.
- Brian May, 1994
The lyrics are full of allusions, metaphors and other figures of speech, making it somewhat difficult to understand.
"In the final mix of The Show Must Go On, when you get to On with the Show, you are listening to a man who conquered everything to deliver his finest work.”
- Brian May, 2023
Thats because most people try to camouflage things.
Great reaction. Freddie is an icon for a reason
As @MikeyDiLorenzo said above, Freddie was so ill that when he left that day saying he would be back and never did, I just don't know how Brian brought the strength to sing the last verse of "Mother Love."
After Freddie died and Brian, Roger, and John had a couple of years to mourn, they went back into the studio to cobble together the songs from the lines Freddie had sung.

Amazing band. So many awesome songs and styles. The clip of the helicopter flying over the crowd was from their last ever live show in the UK at Knebworth Park in 1986. I feel so lucky to have been there
Morning guys! Loved this reaction! He had such a beautiful voice. What a strong person a strong soul!❤

Freddie chose the name but I think it was Brian and Roger started the band. All of them wrote songs.

Never doubt the greatness of Freddie...
Still makes me cry
Queen is the whole band.
Putting 20 years into a movie really did mean moving things around so the movie was entertaining and interesting,
NO ONE WILL EVER COME NEAR TO HOW FABULOUS FREDDIE WAS 🥰. G O A T 💫⚡️💫
He is the voice!!
Cheers from Croatia!!
HEY GUYS….
The LAST thing Freddie recorded before he passed was:
“MOTHER LOVE”
…He only sang the first two verses, then told Brian he needed to leave and rest, and that he’d come back to finish the song later… and he never came back.
When he was recording right at the end he was so frail he could barely stand up and comes out with this quality of performance, incredible.
Not sure if anyone in your live chat said this...the Live Aid concert was put together by Bob Geldof (lead singer of The Boomtown Rats) to raise money for the people starving in Ethiopia. It had nothing to do with AIDS awareness.
Yes people get this wrong !
They still do concerts but with a different front man his name is Adam Lambert. He won America Idol years ago! He's good but I'm 63 and a big Freddie fan always!!❤❤ Rip Freddie the original Queen 👑 Loved and missed 🎸🎤🎵
Fantastic reaction. So much that is so worthwhile here.
Great insight and so true.
Well said!
We miss you Freddie!
false

Famously has the same haircut as his wife and is a huge advocate of badgers.. eclectic…❤
The song that released right before this one is good too. It’s called “These Are The Days Of Our Lives “
The Live Aid show was a concert raising money for the people of Africa who were starving during those times...where aids was a deadly disease when it started. I often look at how it killed Freddie, however Magic Johnson has survived it so far..
These are the days of our lives was the last Music Video Freddie was in.
I agree, they have to react to this song and video, you could see how much weight he had lost when filming this video, Freddie was a warrior.
Brian wasn't there when they filmed that video
Great tribute and an amazing song
Arguably the best Queen Song.
Days of our Lives is another killer.
Queen died with Freddie.
His last recording was the song 'mother love', recorded 11th may 1991. The Shows must go on was the last single during freddies lifetime released 16th october 1991, the last filmed video was for' these are the days of our lives' 30th may 1991
You should check out White Queen live at Hammersmith in 75 or 76, its possibly the most beautiful thing in the world ever.
Paul Rogers from Free and Bad Company did a stint on vocals with them
Your reaction brought tears to my eyes ……I loved how you loved hearing Freddie’s voice.
@@Melly01 all good
Each member wrote BIG hits, it was an outstanding group of musicians and artists which is proven by their numbers on Spotify after all these years.
Freddie what a legend!
He took a shot of vodka and nailed this track in one take! Unbelievable. 💛
In my top 3 Queen songs. Love it.
The man was dying and did this song in one take. True fucking legend!

My soul is painted like the wings of butterflies
Fairy tales of yesterday, grow but never die

Bassist John Deacon did the 1992 Freddie Mercury tribute concert and completed the tracks for their last studio album 'Made in Heaven' (released in 1995)... but he quit the music business by '95 and kept his distance from Queen (He still collects royalties from the band but has lived quietly in the UK since then)
Brian May and Roger Taylor had no intention of carrying on as Queen and did their best to promote the band's catalog of music...
America)
The show must go on is a very powerful life’s lesson you will pull through but for now the show must go on and so do you❤❤❤
Somewhere, Superman is wearing a Freddie Mercury shirt. Read online somewhere and thought it was very fitting.
TY for a great reaction... blessings.
We all knew it'd blow you away.
ghis is my all time favorite song by them. God bless Freddy Mercury
Live Aid was for the famine in Africa. And yes, the greatest vocalist that ever lived. Brian wrote it for Freddie, knowing what he was doing and feeling and going through.
Long live Queen.
One of my absolute favourite Queen songs, Check out all of innuendo, especially I'm Going Slightly Mad (Insane video!) and These Are The Days Of Our Lives, have some tissues ready though, the greatest goodbye ever written
