I feel you , i was so devastated when kyle died :( ...they just announce a tour and tgey stop in my hometown ..got myself a M&G i want to thank them !!
Whenever I feel low, depressed or feel bad about myself concerning my progress in life, I listen to WCAR and it all gets better. We need more music like this in our world 💜 I'm kinda getting tired of the same theme of lyrics in most metal bands
Still can’t believe he’s gone man :’( their music saved my life multiple times when I was younger man it’s kills me knowing we won’t hear anything more from them
I'm so thankful I got to see them live shortly before Kyle's passing, I can't listen anymore without getting extremely emotional, but I continue to listen.
Luckily they are continuing the music, maybe even in honor of Kyle. It's up to you if you can continue after such a thing. After all, I believe Kyle would want his fans to keep loving music created by his brothers in WCAR
Kyle, I know we never had the chance to meet but thank you for getting me through some dark times in my life R.I.P. Thank you for touching my life and many others this is just surreal too think you are gone but not forgotten . I'm glad that I can say I saw you perform at warped tour 2013.
I wish there were no such thing as classifying music!! If it moves you, then who cares what genre it is? This band is phenomenal in every aspect and that's my opinion. I couldn't care less who agrees with me or not, my point of view about them will never change. :)
this band works on so many levels. Whether anyone agrees or disagrees i firmly believe most of the best music of all time, especially in the present day, doesn't get wasted through to much radio airplay- it's like hidden gems of life and this band is definitely a gem, at least to me. That's the beauty of music- to each their own, and there's plenty to go around!
Love how these guys aren't afraid to experiment. After years of playing the same heavy type songs, you can bet they want to play something light and catchy like this! Cause they are a band and if they want to make something with a more dancey vibe for fun, then so be it! Do people completely disregard tracks like Tracing Back Roots, Tell Me Now, Present Future Past, and Ghosts? those songs are rad! Present, Future, Past is my most listened!
I've listened to We Came As Romans then and now. Then, they were developing their sound and it was a lot heavier, not saying I didn't like it or anything. Now, they have a developed sound but are working on their message. Hope and Fade Away portray positive messages which have found their way into my UA-cam rotation daily... You guys are an amazing band whose picked me up off that ledge a million times over. Keep making great music! Can't wait for Warped Tour 15!!!!
Just watched them live in San Antonio last night. Didn't know a whole lot about them before. Very emotional performance. They gained a new fan! RIP KP, and may your brothers continue to heal through honoring you with incredible performances.
WCAR is my favorite band of all time. Been following them since the "Dreams" ep. I am so proud they made a switch in their music to attempt to be different and expand their musical horizons. Overall I loved "Tracing Back Roots", but I will admit that the songs on their previous albums were way more creative. But like this song, the songs on the new album are pretty simple. The band believes that made the right move no matter what the haters are saying. And that is very cool. I do wish John Feldman made the new album more special and put some more innovative mixing into it like Joey Sturgis previously did with their last Albums and is currently doing for other artists. Nevertheless, WCAR RULES! and is still my favorite band and I will jam hard to whatever they put out! :)
Been listening since your first album, probably one of the only physical albums I bought in my entire life, seen you live and met you guys(syracuse ny). A day I will never forget. I've also lost a close friend who loved you guys. My most favorite band in the whole wide world bros. I'm 35 now =D. Hoping to see you again.
A lot of bands are in a "damned if they do, damned if they don't" situation. If they change their sound, people throw hissy fits. If they keep their sound, people complain it's boring. WCAR has never made a bad song, and will always be my favorite band and inspiration.
Excerpt from WCAR interview: "I mean, whatever. “Heavy = good.” That’s your preference. Cool. Have it. Go listen to heavy music. Great. I have a whole different rant about the internet and just, overall, the ability that it gives everyone to say what they want without fear of repercussion. It’s very irritating coming from any standpoint of anyone that creates anything: movies, music, any kind of art or any kind of product. You create an app for a phone and people only give it one star just because they couldn’t beat the level in your game, or you create a movie but they didn’t like a scene. Instead of just saying, “Oh, I didn’t like this scene” or whatever, [they say,] “This is the worst movie ever! I heard that guy slept with his sister.” It’s very annoying that the internet gives so-called “fans” of everything just unlimited power without fear of repercussion. Back when I was growing up, if I didn’t like a band, I told my friends I didn’t like a band, and that was it. And if I saw that band, I wouldn’t go up to that band and tell them I didn’t like them. No. They would have beaten the crap out of me, and that would have been that. But, now, you don’t like a band? Just go dislike every one of their videos and leave negative comments because it does, you know, a lot of good, and it brings a lot of attention to you. It’s just not right. It ruins the reputation of the whole scene of music and the industry when you have a bunch of kids that think they can say whatever they want on the internet for their personal gain. They know when they post anything-“I hate this band. You guys all suck so bad”-like anyone in the band is going to read that and care. They know right off the bat, but they know that some other little kid that loves the band is going to read it, give them attention and start an internet war. It’s just so dumb, and maybe it’s just because reading that, I feel really old. I mean, I’m only 23, so I’m not that old. I just don’t understand why kids get enjoyment out of that. You spend 30 minutes comment war-ing someone on a UA-cam video about how a band sucks. You could have spent that 30 minutes watching bands you like instead. Wouldn’t that make a little more sense? Oh, you don’t like a band? So, instead of wasting your time not liking something, why don’t you spend your time liking the things that you do? It’s just detrimental as a whole because all of the time spent on negativity and not supporting, could be spent on supporting. It could be spent on growing your favorite genre or your favorite band instead of trying to stunt the growth of a band you don’t like. As far as plans for entering the studio in March, do you have anything in mind yet? Is this the direction you’re going to take? We’ve already started doing a bunch of demos for our new CD we’re set to go record in March after the Take Action Tour, and I have a lot of ideas in mind as to where we’re going with this CD. I think it’s not only going to be something that all our fans are going to be stoked on, but I guess in the least generic way possible, there should be a little bit of something for every kind of our fans. Because we have fans that really love all the heavy songs and those are their favorites. We have fans that love all the songs with singing, and those are their favorites, and then we have fans that are like, “Oh, I really love the drum work in this song,” or “I really like the guitar work in this song,” so hopefully, we can come up with songs that will please all types of those fans, but most importantly-and not in a selfish way-please us in the band. I think that’s one thing that a lot of fans don’t get: If we’re not happy as a band, we’re not going to put it out. We’re not going to release a song because we think it’s going to be the best and kids are going to buy it and it’s going to be great, and we’re going to win the internet and get a gold record and all of that. No. [Laughs.] We don’t release any music that we’re not all stoked on and not all happy with. That always comes first."
Who cares if they changed their sound and not as many people like it. People need to stop giving bands bad credit for experimenting with new sounds. Look at linkin parks new stuff, it's a completely different style. People change and so does music. These guys are very talented and should play what they like. Personally, I love this song, and will always be a fan of wcar no matter the musical direction they choose.
I cannot tell you all the times I've heard a We Came As Romans song and thought "Oh my gosh... This is literally written for me." This is one of those times. An excellent video and a fantastic band! You're songs lift my heart when I'm down. Simply saying "Thank you" doesn't seem to cut it. But thank you We Came As Romans!!
Starr Wolfe Aleman Don't know if you'll ever read this but I think genres are necessary and shouldn't imply if a specific piece of music is any good or not, especially considering a persons taste in music is subjective. Think about it like this, imagine a world in which we have not classified music but there is an abundance of it, now imagine you are in this world and have just heard a new style of music, a style that you like and want to find more of it, how will you find more music of this style to listen to in a world where we do not class our music? It's official, WCAR can do no wrong. They are one of the best lyrical bands and TBR is just amazing. Proud to say that I'm always going to be a WCAR fan
WCAR has matured so much from the first time I saw them play when they were still starting off and barely charged anything for their shows. They have always been an amazing glad I do love how they can keep changing up the music and still make it sound incredible. It is actually nice hearing David sing instead of scream, I think it is just a nice change for once. Screaming really does take a toll on your vocal cords and I am actually shocked he is still doing it so well after so many years.
