I have been like you as far as rushing on garments or anything but it only happens when I’m making it for myself. I have finally slowed down and been able to have small successes. Thanks for sharing. I appreciate it. 😊
Dear Wendy , I just finished watching your video, what a beautiful piece of fabric you have there. Can I share a couple of suggestions? Steam the fabric so as to take some of the sizing that comes from the spinning process. If the fabric is wool, you don't have to wash it like you would cotton or linen. Treat the salvage as useful to the garment, especially when you have just enough. When you were cutting the back pieces, you could have used the salvage. It will not unravel. Do not cut into the fabric. This weakens the cloth before you sew with it. Instead mark it. These suggestions have helped me tremendously 😊
@@sewnonny2721 I couldn't see if you cut the notches outward or inward. It is better to not cut the notches but instead to mark them with Tailor's chalk .
@@sewnonny2721 exactly. Always use a pressing cloth, do not put the iron directly into the fabric. Also you can hover the iron and steam the fabric before cutting or sewing 🙂

Thank you! I hope you enjoy this and the rest of the project, best wishes
Wendy
Love it! You did a great job😁🎉
Can't wait to show you the final result!
@ I am looking forward to seeing it. You’ve inspired me because I also love coats. 🧥 Yay!
Oh I'm so pleased, it's liberating to be able to make what you wish. I've just finished it this morning so hope to upload the last video later😀
@@sewnonny2721 excellent! Good for you 👏👏👏
Also...overlocking stretches the fabric out. Treat the garment as if you are sewing a couture garment
Yes I will!

Thanks Maria, what do you mean by don't cut in to the fabric?
And steaming to reduce sizing, do you mean pressing and steaming ❤😊
My iron can fire steam at things, but I've never tried it !
